Expert Testifies to Congress that Obama’s ‘Ignoring Laws’ Could Lead to Overthrow of Government (video)

During a congressional committee hearing about the constitutional limits imposed on the presidency and the implications of President Barack Obama’s disregard for implementing the Affordable Care Act as written, one expert testified that the consequences of the president’s behavior were potentially grave. He said that the precedent set by Obama could eventually lead to an armed revolt against the federal government.

On Tuesday, Michael Cannon, Cato Institute’s Director of Health Policy Studies, testified before a congressional committee about the dangers of the president’s legal behavior.

National Heathcare sounds harmless enough... but..

nationalized healthcare, then nationalized retirements funds, then nationalized transportation, then nationalized food services, then nationalized property...

Does any have relatives that lived through this kind of process? Can you name what the resulting type of political environment you end up with?

They're just starting to notice?.....

Kind of....

Ignoring laws???

Don't you mean "out right blantant VIOLATIONS of laws???!!!!!"

Phukin pussy foots.

Hey!

Watch your phukin language! :O

You know......

I used to, and I know you're joking, but how far do we need to go before our language can equal the outrage. No cussing = no reality.

Let's see (short list):

our food and sky and water is being poisioned, our jobs are being outsourced, our farms and housing are being over regulated, companies going over seas, money is phoney, just(us) system is a sick joke, cops on power trips, they're irradiating the earth, they won't clean up or stop oil spills or nukes, building a police state, can't build sustainable housing without paying the man, codex, prison for profit, drones, spys, neighbor spying, false flags, industrial military complex, obamanotcare, harrp, forced medications (vaccines, etc), insane media, outlawing wood heating, meglomaniacs have stole the seat of power, TPTSHOULD'NTB intend to kill almost everyone off (Georgia guidestones) and it's a bad, bad, bad thing to say FUCK?

I know MANY people here don't like the use of course language, BUT I DON'T LIKE IT WHEN THEY DON'T USE IT.

IT is NOTHING COMPARED to the REALITY OF THINGS.

I like

Your kind of thinking

Agreed-but what if Americans do not know the purpose of

their rights?

When they do, they may be willing to entertain the activity that makes them "the rightful masters of the congress and the courts."

Of course only those that stand unconditionally for the 1787 constitution, and the republic it defined, really have a chance at knowing our role, if we and ours are to survive.

Can we stop doing all the things we are doing that we do not want to do while still doing what we need to do?

Hey, watch it!

When you go off on a rant like that without much contemplation, you inevitably make mistakes. We can't have that!

HAARP has two A's and one R!

But seriously, you forgot all the 97% robbery of our money via inflation, which IMHO, is the root of every single one of the other problems.

armed revolution?

Count me in.

Very true, but...

He's from Cato. So, he is probably OK with most of Obama's transgressions, just not this one. I see CATO people as your "pick-and-choose" libertarians. They pick and choose which liberties they feel are important and turn their backs the rest.

We don't want you to be overthrown, Mr Bond . . .

We want you to die.

What? Wait!

You mean the president hasn't already overthrown the government?

The armed overthrow of any American government

Would doom the Republic. Look to Rome. Bad idea.

This

is not an uncommon topic.. you may find this article from a year ago interesting because of what has happened within the year that is it written and the topic.. http://www.forbes.com/sites/michaelpeck/2012/11/15/how-the-u...

I don't know what to make of this

It's a bit strange that someone would say this straight to congress. Seems fishy to me.

Not really.

What was said here is about as self-evident as saying that "a body in motion tends to stay in motion". The idea that a lawless government will lead to a lawless population isn't a matter of conjecture, but a matter of physics. Barack Obama may just be the latest example, but he's also the most obnoxious, and while I don't want to contemplate the carnage that would result from civil unrest, the folks running things right now are apparently hellbent on making it happen.

If congress is smart, they will take this warning to heart and start reigning in this tyrant before he goes further off the reservation. Likewise, if the brain-dead masses of this country are smart, they will not allow this guy's party to retain control of the senate.
