Giuliani hints at possible exit from GOP race
Top of the Ticket at the Los Angeles Times reports that Rudy Giuliani may be laying the groundwork for quitting the Republican nomination race if he doesn't win the Florida primary tomorrow.
In the back of his chartered plane on the way to St. Petersburg, the blog says, Giuliani told Times reporter Louise Roug and others, "The winner of Florida will win the nomination." Though he went on to predict he would win, "that's an unusually categorical statement," the bloggers note.
Especially since it would take an upset for him to win. Polls show Mitt Romney and John McCain fighting for first place, with Giuliani trailing badly.
Hotline's On Call blog finds another sign of a potential exit in baseballs that Giuliani signed and left for the reporters covering him: It seemed like a going away present from a campaign that has appeared more resigned to its fate in recent days. Campaign staffers and the press have been dancing around the future throughout the day, with one reporter even joking with a press aide about finding new jobs.
Our colleague Eun Kyung Kim at Gannett News Service reports that Giuliani addressed several dozen supporters at a small airport rally today in Fort Myers. He stressed that he is the only Republican candidate who has endorsed a national catastrophe fund and consistently pushed for Everglades restoration.
Linda Tolley, a small business owner from Punta Gorda, was one of the fans at the airport, Eun reports. A former Massachusetts resident who used to visit New York often, she said Giuliani transformed his city. "He really just turned everything around,” said Tolley, 55. “And during Sept. 11, he took the bull by the horns. He is leadership by demonstration.”

Beating Giuliani has been swell...
... I for one would miss Benito Nosferatu. I just wish he does badly in Florida, but not enough to withdraw. I want to see Ron Paul come out of Super Tuesday not only victorious in some states, but also as having beaten JulieAnnie in MOST states - that adds strength to our campaign.
Then we can watch him bow out.
At that stage there would be no more Giuliani supporters left and the other four candidates would not have gained any Giuliani votes on Super Tuesday.
Do I make sense?
Otherwise, another great option is for Ron Paul to beat him in Florida... but, well...
GOOGLE to find out about Giuliani & the firemen
If you want to see many video clips about the firemen and Rudy Giuliani, just google video:

I hope he doesn't...
...let the door hit him on the butt on his way out.

Vote RON PAUL 2008
Radios
Just out of curiosity. Do you have any links that might show he was responsible for the firefighters not getting their radios? To me it seems like a decision that would be made at lower levels. There are alot of reasons I would not want Giuliani for President, but unless I see some hard evidence that is not one of them for me.
Personally, I don't like him because of his position for our war on "Islamic Extremism". It is my opinion that the war on Islamic extremism is a farce and an excuse to expand out of Iraq and Afghanistan at the slightest provocation.
I also don't feel Giuliani would be able to handle the economy in a responsible manner like Ron Paul. I don't think he understands the economic fundamentals like Dr. Paul does. I don't like the people that advise Giuliani either. They are a continuation of more of the same.
We need a real change, not a slight alteration, of our economic and foreign policies and we needed it yesterday.

Took the bull by the horns?
There is an old saying in the military, when evaluating the leader one must evaluate the lead. Mayor G. Failed as a leader and possibly caused the death of many of New Yorks finest, for this there is no excuse. For years prior to the attack the fire departments constantly asked for new radios, they did not get them. They were not able to call the men down from those towers because of that.
As a military vet. I would not want him responsible in getting me the equipment I needed to survive.
Besides his foreign policy experience is limited to entertaining people from other countries, that would have gone out with anyone, and had fun.
Before making a decision with this guy, research the facts New York became better not because of him but in spite of him, They received millions of federal money to get the job done, and his police chief did it. Even though he was connected to the crime, seems if your connected
you can control the amount of crime that happens.
The Mayor is wrong for America!!! Vote Ron Paul

Here on the Gulf coast Giuliani aint around
Here on the emerald coast (Florida panhandle) there are relatively no Giuliani signs. Mostly Paul and Romney with a few McCain here and there.
I know people voting for Romney, Paul, and McCain but not a single Giuliani. He doesn't have a chance in north Florida at least.

September 11th.
My snakeskin jacket is a symbol of my belief in personal freedom.
The problem is....who will
The problem is....who will win New York and New Jersey? They are winner take all and I was hoping Judy would win them (assuming RP didn't, of course) since he won't win anywhere else. If he leaves, McCain or Romney will get them, giving one of them a huge delegate lead.
Much as I can't stand the guy, I've got to hope for a surprise finish for him. Maybe a strong 3rd place will be enough to keep him around till 2/5.
“Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.” William Pitt
6 one, 1/2 dozen the other
If Guiliani stays in, he picks up more delegates. He he quits, McCain or Romney pick them up. But Guiliani will sell his delegates to either McCain or Romney anyway so the result is the same, the only difference is when they get them.
What delegates? I don't
What delegates? I don't think Guiliani has any at this point in the game. Last I looked at the count, Romney is way ahead and Ron Paul is 2nd.
He might stay if Romney wins
Then McCain will have to compete with Guiliani in NY/NJ/CT, with Huckabee in the South, and with Romney in Illinois, Missouri, California, and Arizona, and with Paul in the caucus states.
If McCain wins Florida, on the other hand, Guiliani will be gone.
Expressions
After all of his weird expressions in the last debate, I think he will be saving himself by getting out. I think he was under way, way too much stress. He must be used to being Mr. Popularity and this wasn't his gig. Rather than a hint, this is a "tease" for me. I'm ready for him to go.
Now gotta turn on NBC and see if Paul is on as planned at 10pm.
I'm a New Yorker and I'm not
I'm a New Yorker and I'm not a fan of Guiliani at all. I'll be glad to see the guy go.
"The winner of Florida will
"The winner of Florida will win the nomination." NOT!!!! Actually considering how right he's been on everything , he should just be quiet! But I guess he had himself convinced.......
I'm from Florida...
And with the way people in this state drive, I *really* don't want it to be true. And not just that...The "hanging chads" ballot was NOT that much of an intelligence-test, and still a substantial number of FL voters flunked it. I'll be more than satisfied with just a good showing here (but then, we need to get ALL our signs the hell north to Georgia!).

I just hope the poor thing
I just hope the poor thing doesn't smear his makeup too much after all the crying he is about to do! It might stain his (size 9/11) dress, too.

There was one lone Rudy sign
There was one lone Rudy sign on the median at a u-turn here in Florida (but i'm in what they call the country here, not the city), I was gonna flatten it but there was an oncoming sheriff, so I sadly declined... Oh how sad my 35x12" Boggers were.
good riddance Rudy.

Alas, poor Rudy!
Alas, poor Rudy! I knew him, Wolf Blitzer; a fellow of infinite [snickers], of most excellent fancy [drag]; he hath [told me "the reality is"] a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! my gorge rises at it. Here hung those lips that [hath uttered "September 11th"] I know not how oft. Where be your gibes now?

Can't stand Giuliani. I lived in NYC under three mayors - Koch, Dinkens and Rudy. He was the worst. Pretty good prosecutor, however. But wildly over-zealous. As mayor he took credit for others' accomplishments and bullied everyone he could.
His immense ego, grandstanding, smirking at RP during the debates just made me seethe. What a nasty little SOB he is.
I am thrilled, thrilled he is not doing well. I hope I played a small role in his downfall. What a creep. He will not be missed.
Rudy, as a prosecutor...
Stretched RICO until it arguably would have applied to the Catholic Church. He was the most dangerous of all our opponents, IMO (but McCain's a close second) to individual liberty.

Maybe he will learn what
Maybe he will learn what "Blowback" is now. (-:
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs.
