Texas Governor Rick Perry (R) signed the “Merry Christmas Bill” last June. The bill was designed to nullify legal risks of saying “Merry Christmas” and protect Christmas iconography in public schools.

Regardless of the new state law, an elementary school in Frisco, Texas has recently banned students from wearing green and red colors, making references to the Christian holiday, and Christmas trees from an upcoming “winter party”.

This is a great opportunity

This is a great opportunity to withdraw your consent by simply not following the rules. If enough people flat out ignore and defy an unjust law, they won't enforce it.

My opinion

I don't think Jesus is Happy for Christmas. Again in my opinion, Christmas is just a corporate shenanigan using Jesus.

I truly love Jesus I try to make him proud each day and not to ask for anything, for God have given me everything.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I wonder if I can still wish people a Krampus Christmas

Perfect solution...

Ban terrible public schooling.

Just ban the people calling themselves the state...

That would fix a whole slew of problems.

Change the subject and they can't do anything

Just teach the kids at these schools to say "Happy Jesus' Birthday!" to everyone.

What are they going to do? Ban telling people happy birthday?

If you can't celebrate birthdays then the schools should remain open on Washington's Birthday (aka Presidents Day).

Gotta love the over

Gotta love the over politically correct and sue happy people who turn what should be benign into a five alarm fire.

When's the last time you heard of a person of Jewish faith complain about someone say merry Christmas? For the most part the reverse can be said as well though I don't think many Jewish people go around saying happy Hanukkah. I know I've never heard anyone say it and I live in south Florida where there are quite a few old folks from New York now.

Christmas

is not even a Christian Holiday. It is a pagan ritual.

Nobody knows when Jesus was born.

Actually.... you are at least partly right....

so a vote up. If all the pieces provided in Scripture are put together however, we can come pretty close. I may write a thread about the topic if there are enough interested DP Folks. There is a list of about 20+ reasons why He was probably born in early October (Feast of Sukkot) in my file.

Bzzzt, wrong.

It takes place on the same day and shares a few traditions, but the subject of celebration is utterly different. It's a Christian holiday; if I'm not mistaken, the intent behind keeping some traditions was for the sake of converts. I see nothing wrong with this.

... Obviously... but it at

... Obviously... but it at it's core along with a few other holidays were borrowed as celebrated days from paganism... If the Christians never borrowed celebrations for it then it probably wouldn't be as celebrated as it is today and would maybe only be a day recognized when you go to service at church.

Christians Celebrate...

it as Jesus's Birthday, which they have every right to do. Up till the 80's the vast majority of North Americans and many countries around the world considered it as a Christian Holiday, regardless of where & when , & why it originated. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE !!!

"Christmas (Old English: Crīstesmæsse, meaning "Christ's Mass") is an annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ and a widely observed holiday, celebrated generally on December by millions of people around the world. A feast central to the Christian liturgical year, it closes the Advent season and initiates the twelve days of Christmastide, which ends after the twelfth night. Christmas is a civil holiday in many of the world's nations,is celebrated by an increasing number of non-Christians, and is an integral part of the Christmas and holiday season."

So you

are celebrating his birthday by putting up trees in your house with lights on it? You tell your kids about some fiction character named Santa Claus? You call that celebrating Jesus's Birthday?

And you spend lots of money during the holiday.

Hmmm.. didn't Jesus say "Money is the root of all evil"?

The tree with lights and

The tree with lights and Santa is actually a Russian shamantic tradiiton involving hallucigenic mushrooms. Here is a great documentary that covers it and many other subjects regarding religion and mythology:

We all share this eternally evolving present moment- The past and future only exist as inconsequential mental fabrications.

Not Quite! (Many mistake this)

It's the love of money that is the root of all evil. Paul said it, not Jesus directly. The closest Jesus came to saying even the love of money is the root of all evil is this:

(Matthew 6:24, Luke 16:13)

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:10)

Because Americans Aren't Willing To Eat Beans Instead Of Steak

Parents aren't willing to sacrifice for their kids. It seems they're sacrificing their kids to the almighty state..and state run schools that spent too much time brainwashing them with useless crap.

If you love your children you want the best for them. Public schools when I went there were half-way decent. Not anymore. They are dens of iniquity.. They spend valuable time indoctrinating students.

The reson children don't read or write well is because bad teachers are teaching students meaningless crap..and the parents just don't care.
