NSA feeling "down;" morale is "bad overall" from Snowden revelations

[No mention of guilt, only feeling low.]
NSA morale down after Edward Snowden revelations, former U.S. officials say
December 7, 2013

Morale has taken a hit at the National Security Agency in the wake of controversy over the agency’s surveillance activities, according to former officials who say they are dismayed that President Obama has not visited the agency to show his support.

A White House spokeswoman, Caitlin Hayden, noted that top White House officials have been to the agency to “express the president’s support and appreciation for all that NSA does to keep us safe.”

It is not clear whether or when Obama might travel the 23 miles up the Baltimore-Washington Parkway to visit Fort Meade, the NSA’s headquarters in Maryland, but agency employees are privately voicing frustration at what they perceive as White House ambivalence amid the pounding the agency has taken from critics.

Hear a lot of calls for NSA reform, but how bout phasing out the NSA?

It's the ring.

Who is going to destroy it? No one.

If they all quit, do you

If they all quit, do you think it would send a message?

I think it would take something like a simultaneous spontaneous

combustion event that was captured on cameras to send one.

Anything less will simply be "spun" to their benefit.

Even that might be blamed on terrorists who weren't caught because the agency didn't have the blanket authority it needed to stop it.

Sadly, I don't expect any deity or force of the universe to have a hankering for delivering such a miracle.

Yes a clear one, but will they? Naa.

Their morale is down, but those 35,000 employed by the NSA have their full paychecks. If they had a conscience, they should want to keep their integrity and find another job rather than vice versa. Time will tell.
