Pope Francis Endorses Government Theft, Wins Social MediaSubmitted by Marc Clair on Tue, 12/10/2013 - 11:34
The new Pope is on the Internet and gosh darn it, people like him!
The Huffington Post is reporting that Pope Francis has garnered quite a following on the interwebs. Pope Francis has topped the list of what 1.2 billion users on Facebook are talking about worldwide. He beat out the likes of the Royal Baby, Margaret Thatcher, the Harlem Shake, and Miley Cyrus. Now that’s some stiff competition!
It’s not shocking to see people drawn to the new head of the Catholic Church. After all, Pope Francis seems like a pretty down to earth guy, compared to his predecessors. Many people took notice when he called on Catholic priests to drive more humble vehicles, then he backed up his words by choosing an old model Ford Focus as his Pope mobile.
Pope Francis has also been lauded for not taking a divisive stance on issues of abortion, gay marriage and contraception. He said, “A person once asked me, in a provocative manner, if I approved of homosexuality. I replied with another question: ‘Tell me: when God looks at a gay person, does he endorse the existence of this person with love, or reject and condemn this person?’ We must always consider the person. ”
When it comes to the Pope’s economic views the same praise is not deserved. In fact, Pope Francis can be counted among the masses that confuse capitalism and crony capitalism. When you consider the Pope’s growing influence, his views are downright frightening.
