Smaulgld is anti freedom

Smaulgld has an issue with individuals coming together to create exchange free of the banking cartel. Resorting to false propaganda to protect his position as a gold / silver guru. Buyer beware of Smaulgld.

The Red Coats are coming!

false dichotomy (damn i hate

false dichotomy (damn i hate labeling fallacies). there is more than one alternative solution to the dollar besides bitcoin, and just because bitcoin happens to be the first semi-legitimate alternative doesn't mean we should all bandwagon behind it.

sure there are more options

However the market is rewarding Bitcoin as a valid solution.

There seem to be a lot of ignorant libertarians that see Bitcion as a threat to their Gold / Silver positions. So they spread any bad news about Bitcion that they can get a hold of. Most of all their arguments have been proven false - "bit coin has no intrinsic value, bitcoin is too volatile to become money, bitcoin is controlled by a government conspiracy."

I would be happy to dispel these false arguments AGAIN. If needed.

The Red Coats are coming!

my only argument against it,

my only argument against it, and i've felt this way since the beginning, is that there is nothing stopping the creation of other virtual currencies (which is a good thing, mind you). therefore, there are essentially an infinite number of virtual "*coins" that can be created, diluting the value of each coin and always having a greater supply than demand. and just because bitcoin is first doesn't mean it will last--myspace was first and look what happened with facebook.

whereas with precious metals, there is a finite amount that is available to humans. you can't just create another element like you can with a virtual currency and create false rarity--the rarity of an element is determined by the combination of events that created our universe and planet.

And I have 4 Bitcoin related apps running on my IPhone right now

Boom!

The Red Coats are coming!

Apple hopes to compete with Bitcoin

Who needs Bitcoins when you can have iMoney?

"Apple has applied for a patent on a combined virtual currency and digital wallet technology that would allow you to store money in the cloud, make payments with your iPhone, and — just maybe — communicate with point-of-sale terminals via NF." Story continues

Apple is closed system. Apple has been anit-freedom for some time now.

All rights reserved and no rights waived.

Apple is trying to protect its users & protect itself.

Bitcoin scams and thieves lately have stolen at least $100 M+ from private individuals and from exchanges. When Bitcoin devs create better security then Apple won't be so rejecting of Bitcoin & Bitcoin apps. Other than some custom Linux build, that is nowhere near as feature rich or user friendly as Apple iOS or OS X, there is no other tech company that is as secure - both privacy and security - as Apple. None.

Sent from MacBook Pro OS X Mavericks of an iPhone 5 iOS 7 user

debunked

the sheepmarket stole around $5 million or so from it customers which had nothing to do with bitcoin security but rather a bad business and user error in trusting a place named "sheep"market.
when i first heard the name i knew it was a scam and knew it would not end well for those involved. but they did not steal $100+ million though as they never had anywhere near that to steal in the first place. it was a wild goose chase due to bitcoins anonymity features. someone mistakenly though a large btc wallet belonged to sheep when in fact it was from a large exchanges (btc-e) wallet.

bitcoin has never been hacked.

Bitcoin may never have been

Bitcoin may never have been hacked, but what happened to these bitcoins?

On 6 August 2010, a major vulnerability in the Bitcoin protocol was spotted. Transactions weren't properly verified before they were included in the transaction log or "block chain" which let users bypass Bitcoin's economic restrictions and create an indefinite number of bitcoins.

Double post

Double post, somehow, nothing new to add

Could you please provide some links?

Because I read Bitcoin websites and hadn't seen what you posted.

i think i heard it debunked on madbitcoins yt channel

I was wrong because I hadn't seen updated information

Well that's great news that it wasn't a $100 M theft. Thank you. :)

So would you argue the Apple decision strictly is regarding Apple rumored to be in the process of creating its own digital payment system, so trying early elimination of competition? Or is it because Bitcoin thefts really happen, just not in the $100 M+ as was reported last month about SheepMarket, so Apple is trying to protect users? Or both?

follow the money

look, i don't hate apple, i don't know a lot about them besides what i've read and the movies and what woz has said.
i don't think they are worried about user error btc thefts which they have nothing to do with. denying the freedom of users to choose to use btc is not cool. they somewhat banned btc (for now) but the backlash is pretty bad so only time will tell what their next move is. resistance is futile and people already have btc apps on their iphones and i'm sure you can still get them directly for most sites.
they they want their own pseudo cryptocurrency to rule the web.

Wrong context.

But let's use part of the 4th amendment as the example: the right to be safe from unwarranted seizure. Apple is trying to protect its users from the real possibility their Bitcoins or Money is stolen, essentially via unwarranted seizure.

Apple is a very secure company that tries its hardest to protect its users, both security & privacy. Contrast Apple with Microsoft Windows and Google Android, the latter two operating systems and companies are both the worst for privacy & security.

Also since we're talking about the 4th amendment, Microsoft was the first company to join NSA PRISM, in 2007. Google joined PRISM in 2009. Apple was the last company to join PRISM, in 2012, and that was only after Steve Jobs had died in 2011.

no

apple has a competing currency in the works and they don't want competition. it has zero to do with security as no bitcoins have ever been seized "via unwarranted seizure" whatever that means.

Open Source is the future. Apple has no part in it.

Furthermore, the most secure systems in the world are not running Apple software or hardware. Your claims are false and unprovable.

I have no problem with open source.

But to say Apple is going to have no part in the future of mobile, desktop, notebook, tablet devices, also with its operating systems, including any other new products or new product categories it creates, is ridiculously hilarious. You must use Android.

Yeah, many of the most secure private systems and institutions use custom Linux builds built on the same UNIX core that Apple OS X is. Just wondering, how did that "most secure" Linux system that NSA uses work out with those up to 200,000 TS & TSI documents being so easily stolen, anyway?

PS. Apple is the most valuable company in the entire world, has the most coveted products, wins all the best awards; it'll continue to be a major contributor, innovator and leader far into the future, guaranteed.

my Android is way better than my pos iphone

the iphone did not even last 2 years... overrated junk. props to apple for inventing the smart-phone but Samsung is perfecting it.

Yeah, my bro has a Scamsung S3. I use iPhone 5.

When Apple includes Swype, either the official program or their own swipe, he said he's buying iPhone then it's bye-bye Android. I recently bought the new MacBook Pro, my bro, who had a Windows 7 notebook, used my MacBook Pro then bought a new MacBook Pro instead of another Windows notebook.

And about Scamsung "perfecting it":

Scamsung copies iPhone, loses to Apple, pays: $600 M + last month another $290 M:

Leaks are always an inside job. Linux is like Unix but not the same code. I would agree they are both more secure than Apple products. Apple products have more holes than Swiss cheese and most of the security is obfuscation. Serious questions should asked about the privacy of Apple users. To deny the influence of Big Brother is ignorance.

The future is never guaranteed.
