WHY ARE RON PAUL'S SUPPORTERS SO ANGRY?

When Glenn Beck interviewed Congressman Ron Paul a few weeks ago, he said that he had received death threats from people purporting to be Ron Paul supporters. I have heard other journalists make similar accusations against Congressman Paul's supporters. Of course, I have no way of knowing whether any of this is true or not. And neither does anyone else.

My own experience has been that Congressman Paul's supporters have always demonstrated grace, patience, and courtesy. I have met and worked alongside Ron Paul supporters in at least four states, and I have never personally witnessed any of the anger and bitterness of which they are accused.

Not that Ron Paul's supporters do not have reason to be angry. They most certainly do. In fact, all of us should be angry.

Ron Paul's supporters have been subjected to the most overt and outlandish brand of humiliation and censorship ever seen in modern politics. The cable news Republican Presidential debates have been jokes. For every one question (and usually a stupid, irrelevant question at that) asked of Dr. Paul, the other participants will get three or four. Maybe more. Even though Ron Paul has received more money, more votes, and more delegates than Rudy Giuliani, the press continues to ignore Mr. Paul while showering Giuliani with coverage.

In addition, Ron Paul's own party continues to treat him and his supporters as second-class citizens--or perhaps even as aliens from a different planet. They are subjected to insults of every type. Not to mention enduring every conceivable method to censure or remove Dr. Paul from the political process. He has been denied access to platforms, excluded from debates, removed from GOP Presidential lists, etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseam.

I say again: if anyone has a right to be angry, it is Ron Paul supporters. But perhaps the greater question is, Why are not all of us angry? No, I do not mean in a cruel or unkind way, but where is our outrage for what the ruling elite are doing to our country?

I am as mad as hell

and i am not gonna take it anymore

I wanta know...

is the campaign taking advantage of Chuck Baldwin's exceptional ability to communicate with the masses? I would think that he would be the right guy to influence pastors, and thus congregations. I believe that, along with media annointment, that local pastors probably had a big, although semi-subtle influence, in putting Huckabee on top in Iowa. I heard somewhere that Chuck spoke to some ministers in South Carolina. Is this correct? Is he doing more in other states? I think there's a major potential for Baldwin to do some major good for the cause. There are soooo many out here that are simply un-enlightened.

Why am I angry?

1) Our Constitution has been and is still being eviscerated. The meaning of the very framework of our country, our highest law, has been 'interpreted' away by the courts, signed away by presidential E.O., and neglected by the vast majority of Congress. These people, our elected officials, swore an oath to uphold and defend our Constitution. I ask you...have they upheld that oath?

2) Our country's great wealth of resources, both natural and human, have been exploited for the fabulous gain of the few. They have used the law to do so, and continue to do so by carefully selecting those who would do their bidding to fill the highest offices of our government, ensuring the continued favorable treatment for their interests, at the cost of the wealth and rights of the American public. How many millionaires are there in Congress & the Senate? Is that a government of the people? Why are so many politicians who leave office usually employed immediately after their term in office is up by the very interests they served while in office?

3) Our fellow citizens, Americans, by and large don't seem to know and don't seem to care about what is happening. To be certain, this is by design and the mass mainstream media bears the bulk of the responsibility for doing so.

So let me summarize.
I'm pissed because the people who are elected to and supposed to defend the protections of our rights have neglected to do so, they have done so for the profit of themselves and the very few whose interests they truly represent, and the majority of the American people have no clue because the media which the very few control do nothing but perpetuate the situation. That, and they call me crazy in an attempt to marginalize me so no one will listen. Yeah, that about sums it up.

As I understand it...

It was based on a misunderstanding of something displayed on the crawler at the bottom of the screen on Glens show which read "Ron Paul is dead, Ron Paul is dead, Ron Paul is dead", which many took as a threat on Dr Pauls life.
This was actually based on an ongoing war of words between Dr Paul and Mike Huckabee. Ron said Mikes cross-over-the-shoulder ad reminded him of a Sinclair Lewis quote, "When fascism come to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross". Huckabee replied, "And if you play it backwards it says Ron Paul is dead, Ron Paul is dead, Ron Paul is dead, which was a reference to a Beatles track that when played backwards sounds like (If you're high enough I guess) Paul is dead, Paul is dead, Paul is dead.

No it's Paul is dead paul is dead

it has to do with a Beetles album 'I am the Walrus' and Paul McCartney.

Mathew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

great article

There was a time in this Country when Citizens would regularly congregate with each other both at church and at town/township hall meetings, spiritual expression and civic duty were seperate but equally vital functions of the community and religious leaders would openly encourage this and participate. They not only knew Scripture but also the Constitution and Bill of Rights, the Sheriff and Mayor almost always knew both as well.
I feel we are angry because we want to get back to the basics, we want to reach out participate in the process and bring our communities together again as One Nation Under God Indivisible With Liberty and Justice For All. Those words still have meaning do they not

The difference between Chuck and the rest...

Although I've had very limited exposure (being a non-believer and all), I think the difference between Dr. Baldwin and most of the rest of the "evangelical" preachers is that Dr. Baldwin recognizes that the Constitution and the freedoms and liberties it protects enables him to be what he is. Neither he nor his church would be what they are today without those freedoms. The rest of his peers seem to think that being "men of the cloth" somehow endows them to be above the Constitution, regardless of how ignorant or arrogant that belief actually is. Why protect or respect something if you think you are above it or don't need it?

Dr. Baldwin also seems like a 'live and let live' kind of guy who would have respect for the beliefs of others that differ from his. Most of his peers, however, are not at all that way, and I think their attitudes toward non-believers or people of other faiths is in large part due to the same arrogance.

So Dam True!

I have a fear when these types start to show up every other post will deal with prayer or god. (oops).

"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote."

Too many reasons to list

We are pissed because of the media blackout, rigged voting, blatantly false polls, focus groups, attack moderators during debates, illegal wars, unconstitutional taxes and regulations, etc.... It's real that's why.

why are we angry?

..you're joking right?

We seem angry because many

We seem angry because many of us are grieving over the death of everything we know, and we don't have or are not using the tools to get through the process. Some are angry, some are full of fear, some slip slowly back into denial.

Many of us are going through a process we have no language for. We are wandering around in the dark.

Many of us in the movement can see. We "got through it". We are doing our best to find the newly awakened and get them through the process safely.

It's not easy.

Humble Patience.

different here

People have been polite and respectful and responded well to the message. They realize that we are volunteering our time and money for a cause we truly believe will help our country, an honest politician with integrity, intelligence and an excellent program.

I wonder...

How come Pat Robertson has a network and Chuck Baldwin doesn't?

Hard to believe that Pat Robertson and Chuck Baldwin are the same species, much less share a religion.

C'mon Pat, get your 700 Club members on board with the revolution!

Pat Robertson Is Not Who You Think He Is

Pat Robertson is a sell out to the NWO Elitists.

William Randolph Hearst used his newspaper empire to propel Billy Graham into a world evangelist from having been a small Youth for Christ evangelist in 1949. Graham has paid off his handlers well by promoting the World Council of Churches, the NIV Bible, etc. Oral Roberts, Jerry Falwell, Jim Bakker, Paul Crouch, Benny Hinn, Pat Robertson, Jack van Impe, John Hagee, Jimmy Swaggart are just a few of the most well known “shakers and movers” in Christian circles. All these men have the following in common: They are all pro-Israel dispensationalists. They lead large tours to Israel, and in the midst of war in the Middle East, they all come out defending Israel as the servant of God. In return foundations, wealthy Jews, and other rich people from the Eastern Seaboard establishment are making sure that these men have the funds to keep their “empires” going.

America’s beloved preachers like Oral Roberts, Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart, Pat Robertson, Paul Crouch, John Hagee, Jerry Falwell, Morris Cerullo, Benny Hinn and many more have for years received money from American Jews and in return used their followers to pressure Congress and the president of the United States to support Israel in times of war in the Middle East or to release more military supplies to Israel.

Because Chuck is a real pastor... and Pat Robertson...

just plays one on TV.

Didn't you ever read Heinlein's "Stranger In a Strange Land" ?

LOL

..."plays one on TV"...Thanks for the laugh!

good points

from tin foil hats to spammers in Mom's basement, we've heard a lot. I know I've heard many people counseling others on this forum to 'be polite' 'clean up the language' and so on ad nauseum. It's nice to hear someone recognize the provocation we've endured. We DO have a right to be angry but I think most of us have figured out that success is the best revenge!

Besides, many of these idiots will be coming around to our side eventually!

I like the support..but...

I am always a little put off by articles about what "they" have done to "us". All of us have played a part in getting us to where we are at now. The information about Paul is on the internet. If we had a culture of people that sought out information, would "they" be able to lie to "us"? Anyone on this site could find 10 lies told by each candidate with one google search.

We need to stop portraying ourselves and the American people as victims. We own this country, not them. "They" only exist because "we" have voted them into office.

That is why so many of us say that this campaign is about educating the public. Many times I don't need to stump for RP. I can go out and have a discussion on economics or culture with people at work. Once they learn more about the issues, I introduce them to RP.

If RP supporters want "We the people", then we must admit that the power ultimately lies with the people. The ruling elites only exist, because the "we the people" have been quiet.

Until now, of course! The American people have been apathetic for a generation. It's going to take more than one election cycle to undo what's been done.

Wait till you work the polls

I was working one here in SC and I can say this with 100% conviction: We are hated. I was spit at and practically run over. Several people peeled out on me splashing me with the puddles on the ground. It was unbelievable.

Mathew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

My feelings EXACTLY...I'm pissed off

most of the time and people that don't know this stuff wonder why.

Right on Brother Baldwin!

I don't get it either......something is not working well at headquarters......we have an ultra unique candidate.......for the first, and last time, in a long time! When people hear Ron Paul, they embrace him. We've raised plenty of money..........and nothing is happening.....except the big 3% in Florida........get real folks, you could put "Johnny Dogcatcher" in the polls, and he'd get 3 % ! Something's not right at the top..............Trevor's doing a better job running this campaign.

alan laney

A lot of people are wondering what's wrong with...

...the campaign. I really don't think there is much wrong with it at all.

A better question is:
What's wrong with the media, when they lie to American about the candidates, let the lies some candidates tell slip on by, push real statesmen into the shadows and label those who support the American Way of Life as "fervent, rabid, insurgents or followers."

ron paul made a sensible choice

florida lost half its delegates. Florida is a winner take all state and it was unlikely that ron paul would take first place, therefore, efforts are being made in Maine instead to capture a significant portion of its 21 delegates. It is likely that this fight will be on the Republican convention floor. The delegates from Maine, Nevada,Louisiana, Iowa, California, Alaska, etc. will count just as much as the delegates from Florida. The idea is to win the nomination and then the general election. He is doing a good job. He won't waste our money as president and he uses our money wisely in his campaign. He also won't waste our blood in unnecessary wars. Semper Fi.

Get a life would ya, alaney?

and I suppose you could do soooo much better running the campaign, eh? And do you believe these polls anyway?

He says...amongst other things...

''Come on folks, let's get real: do you really expect John McCain to abandon his efforts to grant amnesty to illegal aliens? Do you really expect Mitt Romney to be a champion for the unborn? Do you really expect Mike Huckabee to suddenly be the champion for limited government spending? Do you really expect Rudy Giuliani to keep his pants zipped?''
