Why was Cruz memorializing a Communist?

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2013/12/cruz-says-he-wa...

Ted Cruz walked out of the Mandela memorial service when Raul Castro began to speak.
Good for him. But didn't he know that Mandela was also a part of the Communist party in South Africa?
Better to have boycotted the whole affair than hobnob with Commies.

Ted Cruz is too wishy washy, like a politician.

I say find someone better than Cruz and replace Cruz with a new senator like Thomas Massie recommends right away.

Agreed, it was a PR stunt by Cruz

I also agree that Cruz is a con-man.

He's no friend to liberty IMO.

He'll stab the Liberty Movement in the back if he gets half a chance.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Cruz is a gangster

He knows exactly what kind of background Mandela had... he's a member of the same criminal syndicate as Obama, Clinton and Bush.

This man is a criminal... and anyone interested in constitutional government should stay far, far away from him.

At their inceptions, the #Liberty, #OccupyWallStreet and #TeaParty movements all had the same basic goal... What happened?

Looks like S. Africa has a

Looks like S. Africa has a Constitution and Bill of Rights, but their "secondary bill of rights" goes far beyond what most of us would consider socialistic:

"The constitution's bill of rights provides extensive guarantees, including equality before the law and prohibitions against discrimination; the right to life, privacy, property, and freedom and security of the person; prohibition against slavery and forced labour; and freedom of speech, religion, assembly, and association. The legal rights of criminal suspects also are enumerated. It also includes wide guarantees of access of food, water, education, health care, and social security. The constitution provides for an independent and impartial judiciary, and, in practice, these provisions are respected.

Citizens' entitlements to a safe environment, housing, education, and health care are included in the bill of rights, and are known as secondary constitutional rights. In 2003 the constitutional secondary rights were used by the HIV/AIDS activist group the Treatment Action Campaign as a means of forcing the government to change its health policy."

It's no wonder they are in such dire economic straights. Only governments that operate Unser a wealthy and growing population can get away with policies like this, and it never lasts forever.

Why? Maybe because they share

Why? Maybe because they share many of the same views?

Yet another ugly ornament on my growing tree of distrust for Cruz.

I said the same thing when I

I said the same thing when I read that, Why were you there Ted?

Let Me Chime In For My .02 cents

Probably Mandela had a change of heart in prison and did turn himself around.

I honestly don't know for sure, but in the early years he was a hard core Marxist, murdering creep.

I would however, say Winnie was an enabler and a real evil woman through in through. I don't think there was any remorse for all those 'burning tire necklaces she had inspired the masses to engage in..
