Questions about new NDAA...

In previous NDAAs passed, there have been clauses that we are all fearful of or angry at such as murder, kidnapping, incarceration, etc. Are these provisions no longer on the books at the expiration of the Bill? Does the specific language need to be in each and every annual NDAA in order to be in effect, or does it continue as it was passed as "law" under a previous Bill?
I fear I may have erred in my letter-to-the-editor (posted below) and need to retract it.

LOL, was there ever any doubt that someone with that name would not support NDAA

Rockefeller attaches cybersecurity bill to NDAA 2014

There are several worthwhile (imo) comments at this thread:

If the details provided (in the comments) concerning this cybersecurity bill are correct, I find it very troubling. Will it pass the Senate as is? Has it been removed? I've done several searches but am unable to ascertain that information as yet.

BAN ELECTRONIC VOTING!!

Linda Sanchez is no Dennis

She's a major liberal socialist, and has the IQ of a rock.

How is she different than Dennis?

Besides IQ? I have not followed her, but Kucinich is a liberal socialist.

A nice guy though.

I dont see assassination of

I dont see assassination of anyone in here.

You know what would be fantastic?

If someone on the Good side snuck in a provision to arrest and detain these corrupt politicians and have them all vote Yes on it since they won't read it anyway. LMFAO!

I called Todd Young's office.

I called Todd Young's office. They are saying the indefinite detention clause is gone. I remember them taking it out, but I thought they snuck it back in last year before signing.

I found it...sec 1029....same wording as 2014....gives habeas corpus after youve already been arrested but doesnt deauthorize the warrantless arrest in the first place.

Where in the hell???? What NDAA are you reading? The following has 1029 omitted:

Justin Amash voted NO.

I want to know why.

I am still reading.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

Here is my letter to the editor I just sent:

Well, once again your non-representing Representative has sold you down the river and chances are, you know nothing about it...so I'm going to tell it to you straight.
Each year, our Congress votes on a military budget that's called the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This year's bill is titled, 'H.R. 1960' for fiscal year 2014. It includes monies for all sorts of things across various branches and departments...some secret, some not. The problem is that this NDAA bill is well over a thousand pages...and within it are all sorts of nefarious items that get snuck in by groups or individuals with an agenda. A couple years ago, there was language in the bill that gives absolute power to the President to do things that violate the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, namely he can assassinate anyone, anywhere and for any reason he sees fit...even an American citizen on US soil...without Congressional approval or any oversight whatsoever. With a word, he can have YOU kidnapped and held forever in a secret prison, without a lawyer or charges...all the government needs is a suspicion and you will simply "disappear".
There are many other treasonous acts allowed in the language of this Bill, and Rep. XXX voted in favor of it without even reading what's in it. Does she represent you and your views? I didn't think so. Please remember this when it's time to vote. Your life may literally depend on it.

where is the assassination

where is the assassination clause in this one?

Sec 1264 is great. I wonder

Sec 1264 is great. I wonder what their definition of "combat" will be.

Check out:

Sec. 242.

(5)President Obama’s proposed deal with Russian President Putin has been kept secret from Congress and the American people.

(6)The Administration has systematically denied Congress information about past offers of United States missile defense concessions to Russia, including written requests from Members of the House of Representatives.

I wonder if our so-called reps even know that that is in there.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

Rep. Doris Matsui (D), Sacramento, CA - Voted 'Nay'

In 2005 Doris won the seat of her deceased husband, Bob Matsui, in my district.

He was and she is pretty horrid on most issues (bailouts, drug war, etc.), but she was born in an Internment Camp in Arizona, and her husband was sent to one when he was 6 months old, so I'm sure they grew up learning the dangers of 'indefinite detention.'

When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign: that the dunces are all in confederacy against him. ~J. Swift

I haven't read it all the way

I haven't read it all the way yet, but look at sec 1080. It actually says there must be justification. Also, in sec 1040b, habeas corpus is in there. I still haven't read anything about arrest with or without warrant.

Weber TX-14

Up until now Randy Weber in Dr. Paul's old district has had a good voting record. I'm sad to say we lost a district on this one. I'll be contacting him to voice my displeasure.

my note to my district congressional representative

"When I saw that my congressional district representative supported a bill to indefinitely detain US citizens I though I must be seeing things (NDAA).

Do you even read what are in the bills you vote on? I have a sneaking suspicion that it is just a 'homework copy' type of moment where you ask your friends Gardner, Coffmann, Tipton, and Perlmutter what they are going to do.

How can you vote for a bill that is clearly against the Bill of Rights, the constitution, and human decency?

You don't represent me... Or anyone I know who lives in your district. Who's pocket are you in?

If your lame aids are going to reply to this with a generic email, forget about it. How do you even call yourself a representative? Must be hard to look in the mirror every day. At least everyone you speak to, at a minimum, knows you are lying to their face!"

Stockman could be

just the right man to challenge Corny. He's the new 'Champion of Gunowners' of the GOA, which they are running radio adds praising him in the Houston market at least. He could get Dr Paul's endorsement, since he has supported Dr Paul. He is a favorite of Chuck Baldwin and the Constitution Party. He also, is 1 of 3 who vote 100% for Liberty in Congress (Rand sadly hits 93%, that's 7% against Freedom!) in the The New American's 'Freedom Index'. Corny is at a whopping 68%. http://www.thenewamerican.com/freedomindex/
I think Stockman will take the offensive against Corny, but he will have to defend past accusations against him, which seem similar to the BS attacks on Dr Paul. If he tells the people what Corny really is, and proves he doesn't represent the interest of hard working Texans he could defeat him. I think he will be more direct and to the point than even Cruz was against Dewhurst.

Neo-con Olson voted

Neo-con Olson voted yeah
Gohmert voted NO!!!!! good job Louie.

Southern Agrarian

Proud that my Congressman, Ribble of Wisconsin voted against

it.

I was afraid he was going to be a typical NeoCon - but he isn't. Most of the time the guy votes on the right side.

It's Enough To Piss Off The Easter Bunny

Yea, that's right! I'm getting started early this year..

Word to the wise, mark everyone who voted for NDAA for defeat..

These people MUST not get away with violating the Constitution..

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Note: My congressman, Mike Honda actually voted against the NDAA this time..

SHOCKING!!
