Updated: Drop Amanda BillyRock's Criminal Charges | No Victim, No Crime

Prosecutor James Sawyer: 603-524-2330

Amanda's Charges:
1) Disobeying an Officer
2) Resisting Arrest or Detention
3) Transporting an Alcoholic Beverage
4) Possession of a Controlled Drug
5) Driving Under the Influence

None of these so-called "crimes" involves any victim, but that doesn't matter to the police, who are currently working to put Amanda in a cage for what could be years. If you wish to call and ask them to drop the charges, I recommend you record it and send me a link to the video.

sketchy

just sayin.

yeah....that'll work

filling up a deputy DA's voicemail inbox with harassing messages, which he really shouldn't even consider in doing his job...and by citing invalid legal theories such as "no victim no crime"...if I were Amanda I'd be telling you guys to cool it. But I'm not Amanda. I'm just a libertarian that knows a few things about the system.

I agree... but it could work

I agree... but it could work both ways. It may annoy the prosecutor and then wants to make an example out of her, or it may push them to just end it.

The cops took her silence for something other than what it was -- which is protest for getting pulled over for nothing -- with thinking she was hiding something..

I still think it's bad idea to argue with the cops. I just smile and take ever they have and move on... I used to fight tickets for two years and wasted a lot of time.. There are better things you can do to promote freedom... Run for Sheriff and change their policies, or for public office and change their laws.. fighting cops will get you nowhere.. and maybe even killed..

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

agree

and I have learned that one needs to pick one's battles in the real world. Or you do if you want to keep a drivers license, get to work on time, and not spend the weekend wearing a jumpsuit.

But if one is ready to take the consequences, has nothing better to do, makes a personal determination that all of that plus jail is worth, it then go for it.

If one is just being stupid and watched some youtube videos about how you don't need drivers licenses (not that you should need it, but I'm talking about reality here) if you utter the right gibberish, then that person is in for a big sooprize.

meh

it was a series of bogus charges, supposed felonies for filming police doing policework in public? That wouldn't have gone anywhere, would have been a national story if it wasn't already, and would have ultimately embarassed the crap out of Boston.

I suggest that knowledge resulted in it being dismissed more than any phone campaign. I don't doubt that someone said please stop calling. Make them think it's about phone calls.

But also please see Orly Taitz getting reprimanded in court for having people phone bomb the court. This idea doesn't work, and it's childish. Better to stand outside with a sign. Better to write a blog post.
