Fox 11 Green Bay Wisconsin does a story on Bitcoin and Our local meetup(video)!

I am so jazzed right now!!!!

A few weeks ago, fox11 in Green Bay did a story on bitcoin, featuring our local bitcoin meetup.

All told the story was pretty well put together and i was pleased to see that they didnt try and make bitcoin advocates look dumb. Check out the segment and show to friends.

If you are interested in bitcoin and you arent part of a meetup, you are missing out. 75% of folks there are libertarian/an-cap/crypto-anarchist types. I had never met so many like minded folks at one spot, buying our drinks with bitcoin and talking Rothbard.

If you are like me and found this movement online, and have lived in it online for the last significant period of your life, then you need to check out a bitcoin meetup!

What was I supposed to tell them?

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

Hey MMJ - wanna help me learn bitcoin?

I just got set up with a 'wallet' but there's nothing in it yet. Would you send me a digital penny and I'll send it back when I get it - you know, for practice and whatnot?

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

whats the address?

its the following string of letters and capital numbers...

And please participate in my upcoming global media bitcoin event.

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

ok i sent it

i sent it through the blockchain trust-less mixing service sharedcoin so you can't track it back to my address, pretty cool huh?
only problem is the minimum transaction is 0.01 btc which is worth $6+ dollars. go ahead and send it to the daily paul btc address in my sig.

dark wallet should solve the problem of trust-less mixing without min transaction rate restrictions. should be out in a few months.

Okay - thanks. Now where do I look for it?

My wallet is still 'out of sync' with the network. Will that matter?

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

you gotta wait

for some reason i thought you singed up for a blockchain.info wallet. anyway it's a good idea to have an old school wallet that dl's the blockchain as your main backup. it will take a day or so to dl the whole blockchain for the first time. to avoid this and for faster use i use a blockchain.info wallet with 2 factor authentication.

they also have new wallet clients like Electrum and others that don't make you dl the whole bc but rather use the cloud for immediate use.

i use the blockchain.info online wallet for everyday use but have a desktop client as my main storage backup. i also use the bc smart phone app which uses the cloud so you don't have to dl the bc.

Ok - 10 hours behind, should be complete any minute...

and now as I type this a bubble pops up showing .01 bitcoin received! FAR OUT!

The wallet tells me which address received the btc but it doesn't say who sent it to me. How am I to confirm who sent it - say if I were selling something?

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

i sent it anonymously

but coinbase, blockchain.info and other services have lots of tools for businesses and individuals.
you can give everyone a unique deposit address with their name. or if they want you to know who they are they can label their sending address on blockchain.info like the daily paul did. i've never done it though.

That's why 77 addresses are shown, right?

That's all the 'mixing', right?

p.s. may I use your name in my 'crash bitcoin' project post?

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

wow, 77 addresses

i only noticed the first few, i guess the mixer work pretty well.

no, i prefer you not associate my name with your project as it will fail and it won't effect btc at all, sorry. good luck trying though.

make sure you send the 0.01 to daily paul as a donation, thanks.

Correction - only 16 addresses listed...

I must have been looking at the confirmations - there are 85 now.

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

Of course I will forward it on to the DP...

I just want to look at it for a few more minutes.

Will the project fail? That depends on what I'm trying to achieve. If my primary goal is to provide raw data for all the techies to ponder while everyone else is new years partying, then success will be getting the 10,000 transactions to happen.

Please explain what you think will happen in the 'crash' thread if you want or, if not, that's cool too.

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

I had no idea.

I will have to check it out!

Tom Wilkinson - featured in the story - is a cool dude.

He gave me a 'Ron Paul Discount' on some RP stuff I had made in '08 through his shop, Mass Appeal.

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

I love the idea of a competing currency.

Here's the part I don't understand. "Those transactions are done without going through a central bank or even government control, making bitcoin exchanges virtually untraceable." This is all being done on the Internet so, it's all being tracked and stored by the NSA, correct? Can't TPTB can shut down any site they want?

Go to Bitcoin.org and it will

Go to Bitcoin.org and it will give you the answers you seek.

Thank you.

I'll check it out.

I count four posters on this board who are from Green Bay, or

at least the Green Bay television viewing area, including myself.

Wow. Green Bay seems to like Liberty.

First airing, correct?

I saw this segment advertised last night.

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

Okay within the Green Bay televison viewing area but not

necessarily watching Green Bay news.

I live in Green Bay. And I have a TV (a very big one), but I only use it to watch Packer games and Netflix movies.

So I have no idea when or if it aired before.

Dunno, Dont have T.V.

Hope you put it out to everyone you could.
