Phil Robertson's Entire Family Stands by Him, Implies Duck Dynasty Can't Continue Unless He Returns

Is this the end of Duck Dynasty?

While the fifth season, much or all of which has presumably been shot, is set to premiere Jan. 15 on A&E, the entire Robertson family has come together in support of patriarch Phil Robertson, who was suspended by the network in light of anti-gay comments he made in a recent interview with GQ.

"We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E's decision," read a statement posted on the Duck Commander website .

"We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word," the family continued. "While some of Phil's unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart' and 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'

"Phil would never incite or encourage hate. We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family."

And who cares about a TV show

And why?

Live Free Or Contemplate Your Death!

.

Its kinda like the andy griffeth show in that its one of the few hollywood productions that doesnt try to make all southern people look stupid/racist/ignorant, and when they tote guns they actually know what they are doing. They are christians as christians usually are but again usually hollywoods idea of Christian is a racist/stupid/ignorant person. Yes one of them is crazy but less crazy than barny fife.

On one episode phil takes his boys to a secret fishing hole and when he sees the game warden coming runs off, without warning the boys.

On another episode he tells his granboy and his buddy doing all sorts of chores for him is good football training

In another episode he uses crawlfish to explain sex to his grandson.

not perfect by a long shot, but its a funny show with no cussin, no nudity, and plenty of prayer make it a favorite for a lot of people.

I've never seen this show but here's why it's important

We need to wake up the general public as to what's going on. If pop culture is part of that process then let's go with that then. The whole "boiling frogs" thing is about people not recognizing creeping tyranny because it's a slow creep. When stuff like this happens that gets under a large number of people's skin then they might start asking questions. People asking questions is a good thing.

If you want to wake up the general public, then get off the DP

The "general public" doesn't come here.

The general public doesn't frequent

the CFR either, but they sure as hell are affected by what happens there!

So the DP effects what happens to the general public. Period.

We all have to put a time limit on (y)our attitude of scornful and jaded negativity and be ready to carry on.

I need a business card with that on it as my title

So that's how real family stands together!

Kinda nice to see and hear from Phil's kin that they wouldn't want to go on doing the show without him, eh?

Question...

why are you revealing your beliefs to the televised audience? LEt your beliefs of God or not be between you and your maker or force of admiration...the general public is always awaiting the opportunity to turn your deepest beliefs into programming aligned with the mentality of long past descendants, such as Neanderthals.

Father - Husband - Son - Spirit - Consciousness

Agree

But he was purposely asked that question of his views on homosexuality by the interviewer. Most likely to set him up to say something the media could spin and that is precisely what happened.

Reality television is more of a threat to society.

Reality television is more of a threat to society than gay people. A little known fact, gay people have always existed. And a larger known fact, the government has to treat everyone equal regardless of what you call the process of two people contracting to live together to receive benefits under the law.

P.C. at the Daily Paul?

"Gay people have always existed," says the condescending p.c. lecturer. What this or anything you have to say has to do with the issue at stake is beyond me. You are siding with the hysterics.

It was supporting the sentence before it.

It was supporting the sentence before it. I was suggesting that reality TV hasn't always existed, it's unnatural, and that it was more detrimental to society than gay people, which have always existed and always will.

First off

Why do they even want to go back? A&E obviously showed their true colors. Screw them and find another network willing to accept you for who you are.

from urban dictionary:

In the parlance of trendy gay men, a honey badger is an overbearing, very hairy gay male. A "honey badger" is most often seen talking far too close to his friends and gentlemen callers and exhibits extreme chest/arm/back hair in public.

just FYI - this comment no longer makes sense

As the thread content has changed.

I hope so!

I support gay folk, but much more so, do I support men, and groups who stand on principle!

Good

Then the free market will have worked.

Just like Ron Paul is on to bigger and better things with his channel.

Is there any point in continuing talking about it?

Seriously BT. I enjoy your posts, but what is up with your obsession with this?

I haven't watched TV in years, aside from football.

Why let the MSM dictate the terms of debate? Really. Why get dragged into the false, manufactured divide?

OK Nystrom. Put 'em up! Put 'em up!

#1 I have never seen the show. I don't even know what it's about.
#2 I just enjoy seeing this brood stick together rather than shrink and turn tail in the face of collectivist, intimidation tactics. GLADD lied in their statement.
#3 It just so happens that there is a trend in TV shows actually tackling the issues at hand; NSA, Loss of liberty, GMO's etc. So to just 'tune out' is just the flip side of mindlessly watching MSM.
i.e. http://www.cbs.com/shows/person_of_interest/
And
#4 Whether it 'feels' like it or not right now, You Nystrom, Have a very dynamic, pro$perou$ and bright future about to open up. The "Universe" remembers everything.
Enjoy the day!

Michael Nystrom's picture

I'll put em up any day of the week muthafunka!

If you want to see this brood stick together, can you find some better glue?

Because if this is the best glue you've got, then I'm ready to leave the field. I'm ready to take the next snap, down the ball, walk over to the sidelines, out the tunnel and not look back, right on out towards my bright future.

But before I do that, I'll throw a Hail Mary, even if it means I have to ban half the people on this site. There's really nothing to lose. It is inevitable anyway. The glue that held this place together before was Ron Paul, and that is over.

If there is a trend that is actually tackling the issues at hand; NSA, Loss of liberty, GMO's then that is great.

Somehow I doubt this Duck show is about that, but I don't know because I've never watched it. And I'm surprised you're pushing things this hard if you haven't, either.

We will come together again

sooner or later. Wait till voting season. Especially primaries. Although at this point it may have more to do who we vote against than who we vote for.
