Democratic Socialism, Guns, and the Failure of the Constitution

Democratic Socialism, Guns, and the Failure of the Constitution

This one was just too good to pass up. An acquaintance on the left sent me the Democratic Socialists of America article "There Is No Second Amendment Right To A Gun". It reinforces everything the anti-federalists said about the Constitution back when and everything libertarians like Lysander Spooner have been warning us about since then.

As is obvious

this is purposeful misinterpretation of the Constitution. I see these idiots as, well, destructive idiots. Little do they know they will not be on any winning side.

There is no room for misinterpretation in:

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

No conditions; no limits, and as opponents of gun ownership have suggested, the founders may not have envisioned drones that could and would kill citizens without right of recourse, or that space weapons were in the future(here and now), or that the US military would use toxic depleted uranium tipped missles on other countries allegedly contaminating not only the citizens of those countries but endangering our own military......but their point was that it didn't matter. We the People have the rights, not the government.

As most of us on this sight will most certainly agree, the Constitution is not failing the people, the people are failing the Constitution. The "machine" as I will c it has been very patient since 1913 and even before that to soften the peoples will by targeting their most vulnerable to take away their incentives. I know, that might be too kind. But nearly all of us are guilty of not paying attention and standing up for our rights which were so dearly fought for.

I thank so many patriots including Michael Nystrom for this site, many others who are devoting their lives to fight the good fight to get our republic back. I have a letter to the editor of a newpaper written in 1975 when its author first became aware of the plight we faced. It could have been written today in its entirety and been dead on. Some saw, but they were too few.

Keep up the good fight; keep waking people up.... and thank you Dr Ron Paul.

The Constitution of No Authority

ussovereignty, Thanks for the comment. You start out on the right track, willful misinterpretation & the right to bear arms. Where I respectfully differ with you is on the Constitution. After reading Patrick Henry, the other anti-federalists, & Spooner one can see that the constitution is fatally flawed. Good govt is a fantasy. Time to move on.

Restore liberty,
