How do you pick just one?!?

My humble submission as a combat veteran, but there is so much to choose from.

I love Matisyahu and Michael Franti for their messages of peace.

Seeing as it has already been mentioned Matisyahu kills it accapela:

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the favorites from my dear friend Tomas a disabled Iraq Vet. He made a 2 CD compilation of his favorites you can purchase, make sure to give back to the DP if you decide to get it. Purchase of the CD helps disabled vets.

If I Had A Rocket Launcher

I wonder which sob's he was singing about?
This song reminds me of when the Blue Angels were doing their show at the airport and roaring over our house. I told Veronica this is what it's like in Iraq and Afghanistan except those people never know when a bomb will be following the noise and blowing them to smithereens.

Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them. - Frederick Douglass

A lot of the older generation I feel misses out on a lot of

great music that is still being made thinking the radio is what young people are listening to. Radio is dead. This is a perfect example of this. I discover new music all the time that promotes a positive message. You just have to turn off the corporate bull horns.

I grew up listening to Larry Norman

From Wiki:

In February 1992, Norman suffered a nine-hour heart attack that resulted in permanent heart damage, leading to frequent hospitalizations in the years that followed. By early 1995, Norman had been hospitalized thirteen times and had a defibrillator implant, which enabled him to perform occasional small concerts.

After a lengthy illness, Norman died on February 24, 2008, at the age of 60 at his home in Salem, Oregon. The previous day he had posted on his website:

"I feel like a prize in a box of Cracker Jacks with God's hand reaching down to pick me up. I have been under medical care for months. My wounds are getting bigger. I have trouble breathing. I am ready to fly home. I won't be here much longer. I can't do anything about it. My heart is too weak. I want to say goodbye to everyone...I want to say I love you. I'd like to push back the darkness with my bravest effort...Goodbye, farewell, we will meet again."

“Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it’s realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy.”
― Ron Paul

A one-armed drummer!

I saw in the opening seconds of this video, the drummer has no left arm!

When I think of all those maimed and scarred by war, civilians and soldiers alike, it grieves my heart. Don't know his story of loss, but it reminds me to honor the losses that are daily reminders of what war did to limit their physical abilities, as well as scar their souls.

Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them. - Frederick Douglass

Def Lepard's drummer lost his arm in a car wreck

Driving too fast and probably on drugs. In any case he was determined to play every song in the the bands library as proficient as he did before the accident.

It is quite inspirational how he was able to redesign and build a custom drum kit to accommodate his disability. You would be hard pressed to tell the difference. He is what they call a rock legend.
