Legal recreational pot states expecting boom in tourism

Los Angeles (AFP) - Marijuana users in Colorado and Washington are counting down the hours before the western US states become the first to legalize recreational pot shops on January 1.

Blazing a trail they hope will be followed in other parts of the United States, cannabis growers and others are also rubbing their hands, while tax collectors are eyeing the revenue the newly-legalized trade will generate.

Nederland is the first town in CO...

that is officially ready to go with the recreational sales in Jan. Man, this is gonna be a huge boost to the economy of this tiny mountain town! Only wish it would happen in my neck of the woods (rural, very depressed economy). County commissioners here have put a decision on hold. At least one of them commented on how trim work has provided some much-needed income this past fall to single moms here, among others.

I'm sure

I'm sure there will be a lot of people who will be skiing in Colorado rather than Utah this winter.

And people who don't even ski will

be headed to CO.

Show me a place to have a beer and a smoke in peace.

People will come from all over.

There is nothing strange about having a bar of soap in your right pocket, it's just what's happening.

Build it

and they will come.
