Cute kid, However we shouldn't use children to prove points

Children are innocent and to use there reactions to convince people is taking a shot at peoples emotions, wether what you're trying to do is right or wrong. I despised that after the sandy hook shooting the gun control fanatics were standing on the graves of toddlers to push there agenda. Obama did the same thing when he had the children stand beside him when he signed the executive orders for gun control. It is truly unfortunate that children must go without healthcare because of this ****A$$ legislation. The good news is unlike the people who push for more government, we have logical arguments to use and don't need to make emotional shots to prove our points.

47 Million Non-elderly Americans Do Not Have Health Insurance

I'm still confused how the PPACA Act (a.k.a., "Obamacare") makes healthcare affordable for people who do not have the financial means to buy a health insurance contract in the first place.

According to this article, (see: http://kff.org/uninsured/fact-sheet/key-facts-about-the-unin... ) the cost of insurance is too high for low income people. Since healthcare is an expense incurred when people become ill or injured, these persons spend their incomes on necessities of life such as: food, clothing, housing, transportation, etc. Healthcare is an afterthought until needed.

The idea behind PPACA was to expand the pool of subscribers and thereby lowering the cost of insurance along with subsidies paid by the taxpayers. But insurance itself does not reduce the cost of healthcare. Providers (i.e., doctors, hospitals, clinics, pharmaceutical companies, etc.) can still charge what the market will bear. They may not be reimbursed for the full cost such as medicare/medicaid but nothing stops them from seeking redress for unpaid bills via the collection companies (see: http://money.msn.com/health-and-life-insurance/4-costly-medi... ).

Many of our fellow DPer's have written their insurance premiums have significantly increased since the enactment of PPACA. I understand that certain costs of insurance are lowered through forced premium controls such as requiring lower co-insurance, co-payment and deductibles for low income people. These new subscribers will be entitled to immediate tax credits (paid to the insurance companies) as well.

But young people who could not afford a health insurance contract before will now be forced to purchase one as the law demands or pay the tax penalty. So the bottom line is they will have less disposable money to spend in the economy or to save for future needs as stated in this article here (see: http://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2012/03/22/how-oba... ).

How is this better for them?

Child abuse is child abuse, regardless of persuasion.

Sorry to be so harsh, but I detest using innocent children to make political points. I consider it child abuse when the teachers unions use children to get their tax increases, and I see no difference here.

Undo what Wilson did

You should be sorry, that's a

You should be sorry, that's a detestable and despicable thing to say. But then again, your icon shows you're a truther so I'll take it with a grain of nano-thermite.

fireant's a truther!

You don't get around much eh? I'm sure the truthers on this board will find your accusation amusing (my icon shows the building did not come straight down, btw).
What's despicable is using the fragile emotions of innocent little children for political gain.

Undo what Wilson did

When I was a kid, so ever long ago,

I would have been thrilled to know my parents would not be taking me to the doctor; no more boring waits in the waiting room, and no more shots.

Too bad it is the black hand of government that ends visits to the doctor instead of better lifestyles and health giving diets (which most people can't afford either).

"Bend over and grab your ankles" should be etched in stone at the entrance to every government building and every government office.

Necessary

Unfortunately, videos like this need to be made and posted far and wide.

Yes

Let's put an overwhelming burden on a child's little shoulders that she can't deal with -- Instead of being the grown-ups and doing what's needed to correct the problem.

Maybe we should also have have our first graders answer the door when a home invader knocks too.

How special.

She first thought her dad was sad because she didn't listen

when it was Chris Rock's "dad", and our "bipartisan" Congress, and our less-than-Supreme Court, who, so far, have refused to listen, no matter how loud and long we shout!

Petitioning for redress of this grievance has so far fallen on deaf ears and turned backs, while media-whores refuse to report the wretched carnage of this neutron-money-bomb. So what's a "grown-up" to do, BT?

Under his posting on YouTube was his note: "Our 'affordable' insurance premium just went from $396/month to $833/month." If I had to look into her sweet young eyes and explain my grief and frustration to her, I might have been tempted to capture her first reaction to the news as well. Perhaps he hoped that posting this might help stir the paternal instincts in the rest of us to do the grown-up thing we ought, more effectively than we have so far, eh?

Oh I agree the 'effect' is precious

Dad asked her why he was sad, not to answer a hostle door

Come on, you can make a better comparison than that, can't you?

The hurt was in his personal loss that will likely effect her well-being also in some future scenario when healthcare is needed but cannot be afforded, not the immediate threat of a SWAT team pounding on the door!

Home invaders almost never knock. That's why their called invaders, eh?

Don't put words in my mouth

I never said SWAT.

Those were my words, not yours

Home invaders seldom, if ever knock, right?

I was choosing a better comparison, in my own words.

YOU PUT SWAT IN MY MOUTH!

Home invaders always knock.
Then when the door is open they push their way in.
Otherwise it would be called a B&E. A "Break-in".

Don't you watch TV? The cops always say, "There was no sign of forced entry." when the door was unlocked and the perp's came in.

Burglary vs Home Invasion
May 1, 2013 by selfdefense4life

You get home and the first thing you notice is your house is torn apart. Then you see your television is gone. Crap, so is your computer and your jewelry. THAT is a burglary (aka breaking and entering). A criminal breaks into your home when no one is there.
vs.
You’re at home watching TV and someone knocks on the door. Is it odd because you weren’t expecting company? Knock knock knock…. Who is it? Ma’am, my name is Jim. I’m lost, may I please use your phone? You think to yourself Jim looks nice, dressed in a button down shirt and tie from what I can see through my door viewer. Sure Jim, come on in. You open the door and ‘Jim’ shoves it in your face knocking you backward. Your new pal Jim has a knife in his hand and has 3 guys with guns behind him who were hiding behind the shrubs in your front yard. THAT is a home invasion. A criminal enters your home when someone is inside of it.

A polite knock wouldn't cause fear from parents or children

so how would that compare? Invasions count on the element of surprise, so an unsuspecting, albeit naive, parent might allow a child to answer. If they can enter without knocking, all the better for surprising folks who otherwise might defend themselves.

Aggressive SWAT count on shock and awe to intimidate the residents, so no good parent would EVER send their child to answer their pounding on the door, as your first post implies home invaders might.

OK. Game On!

Now you're challenging me to a full debate.

I'll have to come back later when I'm able to focus solely on this challenge.

Whatever, 'Cuda

I asked you earlier, "so what's a 'grown-up' to do"? But the best you can offer is a pissing contest. I'll concede, you may not have bigger fire hose, but your hydrant is definitely full of more piss than this fire is worth to me.

A troll with a

A troll with a false-equivalency, now THERE'S something original.

true-equivalency

Obamacare=criminal activity
Home invasion=criminal activity

Neither are appropriate for involving young children.
Why would anyone want to stress a child with fear and adult cares?
