Man Closes Door On Noisy Cops, Cops Go Into His Backyard And Shoot His Dog

Cops came to Richard Stotlar's house in Holly Hill, Florida late last Friday looking to serve a warrant on a woman for prostitution charges. He told the cops he'd never heard of her, and no one by that name was in his home....

Protecting the crap out of you

Who feels safe when armed agents knock at the door?

We all want progress, but if you're on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.

Controlling front door encounters

I'm looking for good suggestions on controlling front door encounters. I'm thinking anything from locking glass storm door to outside intercom system. Other ideas and specific products that work well for all members of a family? On a related note, for those of you that have utility boxes that need to be accessed by techs, is there a way to control this without having to keep your gate unlocked alot? If the box were towards the front of the backyard, I would consider building a separate gate/fence but the box is the back so not feasible.

I'm sure possible solutions

I'm sure possible solutions vary like income levels. I do a great deal of work in my business for very wealthy clients. I see a wide range of precautions, some quite expensive. For example, one client has multiple full time employees on his property nearly all the time... and some of them, it is quite obvious, are not there for their ability to cut grass. They are big and super strong.

I see hidden security cameras, open and visible security cameras, microphone systems around houses with recordings (one contractor had to throw a guy off the job because of things the client heard him say while working on that particular house) security gates with guards, etc. All such things are expensive, obviously. Your basic idea of a camera and intercom combination is perhaps the best in terms of cost vs benefit. These things are easy to install yourself, and technology has made them better. If you have a wireless internet service in your home, your system can possibly be wireless, which makes for a far easier installation. Today's security cameras are digital and only activate recordings for certain lengths of time at motion detection. This is far better system than the old loop recording method. I'm not even sure you could find one like that anymore. Those usually worked with VCRs. If something went wrong in the night, and you didn't discover it till morning, you were stuck watching up to 8 hours of video to discover the cause.

This is probably not much help, but I had an issue with someone (or multiple people) taking tools out of my truck at night. I lost about $800 worth in one incident. I took the precaution of purchasing a wireless motion detector with an alarm set receiver. The benefit is that it cost me less than $40. I put the detector in the bed of my truck at night (situated in such a way as to only activate should the items back there be disturbed) and keep the alarm close enough to wake me should it activate. This simple inexpensive method is okay for detecting thieves or vandals, but not much use with police pounding at your door.

I always wanted to get a

I always wanted to get a intercom and camera system because then you dont even have to go to the door.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

One-Sided Theories

I've been watching Dog Whisperer, because strangely enough, I learn quite a bit about recognizing dominance through body-language and begin to recognize it in politicians, etc.

This dog could totally have made an agressive move if the people entering were scared, threatening, or not in the right frame of mind. Ditto if the dog was aware of her owner being scared or defensive.

This is why people are often amazed when their previously mild-mannered dog protects them from attack, or bites some kid "uncharacteristically."

All police officers and postal carriers should go through a dog handling training in order to be able to handle these situations without provoking attacks or being scared enough themselves to over-react.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

What I've always seen is many police are in love with power..

What I've always noticed is how many police are in love with their own power, instead of the rule of law.

This would explain why so many of them make a true devotional praise to Alexander Hamilton. Because at heart, they love Hamilton and are Hamiltonians.
http://bastiat.mises.org/2013/12/hayeks-rule-and-the-product...

It explains it in the Hayek principle down to a tee. Deep down, many police revere Hamilton who was a statist NeoKahn. Because of this, there can never be any true reason to have a Fraternal Order of Police or Police Union in the end.

Our duty is to find out how best to end it all-together. After all, even the good ones know all its used for is currency collection.

TwelveOhOne's picture

And the good ones are deluded at that!

They might "know all its used for is currency collection" but it's not even currency that they're collecting -- it's debt!

Reminds me of the end of "Time Bandits", "Mom, Dad, don't touch that! It's pure evil!" They do it anyway.

I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.

Blame the school system

All of them teach the same nonsense about it being currency. Good points made.

Including this one who benefit the most from manipulation of the stock market one day before 9-11.

Why was that?

God that's fucking awful...

God that's fucking awful... There needs to be some serious change to how police are so protected after doing shit like this. This is like the new trend with cops. Police get butthurt their "authority" isn't being feared by the citizens so they go and try to find dogs in peoples yards to find an excuse to discharge their weapons.

Homeland security statement: patriotism is now considered terrorism.
I love www.isidewith.com shared it with everyone I know. If anything they realize its not just a red and blue idiot running for reelection.

I bet the rookie

didn't shoot the dog. It was the veteran, asking the Rookie to take one for the team.

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

That is one sweet looking dog.

Apparently if you have a rottweiler the cops are coming for you.

how in the world do cops investigate a person already convicted?

it's madness where the doofus bozo alpha males win the 6 pointed badge of power and citizens have to cope with losing our nature.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right. -Henry Ford

I swear. It seems like one way to eradicate this stuff

is to invest in cameras and lights that are motion sensitive that come on and record everything.

Whether it's a self-defense against home invasion or the Keystone Cops, you have to get it on film, then into the media.

There has to be a public backlash on this kind of unlawful behavior.

The 5 o'clock news people love surveillance video.

My biggest fear is that citizens will follow their instinct for revenge and track down everyone and everything the offending cop loves and values. And let him/her watch the loved ones slowly die painful deaths before he gets the long slow treatment him/herself.
That's my fear.

Is there a national police training program

that calls for shooting dogs on sight regardless of threat level? This is an epidemic and there is a reason behind it. Also,he should sue the cop personally. I'm sure even the dumbest jury would side with the owner.

Any Way You Look At This Case, It Was Phucked Up Royally

I'm surprised the cops didn't murder the man who closed the door on the cops..

These cops was not properly screened or vetted..

This really has my blood boiling..

Bottom line is they should have not called

Don't call them if you don't need to.

Bottom line is

they did not call the cops. did we watch 2 different videos?

Post the Cops NAME Here......................

............maybe that will do it.

You have the RIGHT to protect yourself and your property.

Even if you have to KILL someone to do it.

Disgusting

That piece of **** pig needs to be fired. They trample on his rights, shoot his dog, and think nothing of it. That's one tough puppy though.....3 shots at close range and still kicking. Good for him!!!!!!

Seems to confirm something I

Seems to confirm something I read recently.... Police officers are generally not very intelligent people. In fact, the average IQ of cops likely falls below the 50% range of the overall population. Or so the article claimed. In view of my own experiences, as well as stories like this one and others, I wouldn't doubt the claim.

Here's an old article about a

Here's an old article about a man who sued because his IQ was to high for the police dept.
http://abcnews.go.com/m/story?id=95836&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fvnnf...

Jailers/prison gaurds are even lower

on the IQ ladder.

Well of course. There is a

Well of course. There is a max limit on how high your IQ score can be in order for you to join.(I think its been posted around here a couple times) The excuse is that intelligent people might become too bored. I think this is backwards though because its the dumb people you gotta watch out for when they become bored because they do dumb stuff.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

Now that you mention it, I do

Now that you mention it, I do remember reading a post about that.

Find out where the cop lives

And go shoot whatever pets he has, then break his nose for good measure.

Please don't incite violence

That is how michaelwiseguy apparently was banned.

I send people here to wake them up. Comments like yours don't help.

I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.

Yes I know

I would edit or delete my comment, but I can't now. I lost my cool, it happens to many here.

Why shoot the pets? His pets didn't do anything wrong

and we don't need less pets in this world, do we?

On the other hand...
