Ben Swann: Mark Levin wants to Play Russian Roulette with the Constitution

Many are starting to question the extremely hard push from many so-called self-proclaimed conservative talk show hosts regarding Mark Levin’s push for a Constitutional Convention. To many of us, it seems that the only time these talk show hosts (Limbaugh, Hannity, etc.) join together in this manner is when there is a time to bring Americans into another unconstitutional war or when it’s time to persuade Americans that they should support another self-proclaimed “conservative” candidate that believes that the U.S. Constitution is a living document that can be altered without regard to the laws of the Constitution.

So why is it that so many are being called on by self-proclaimed conservative leaders to promote a Con Con (also known as an Article 5 Constitutional Convention)? As cruel as they are, the leaders are often heard pulling on the heart strings of Americans by claiming that that this is a way to immediately put an end to things such as abortion, American flag burning, and an unbalanced federal budget. Mark Levin, leader of the push for a Con Con, pulls on the heart strings of Americans without warning them of the real dangers of a Constitutional Convention. He does this by telling Americans that the Constitution will only be reasonably amended because we can “trust” conservative Republicans to do what is right for us at an Article 5 Constitutional Convention.

Important post, important battle

Levin is a Muslim-basher "Beware the Cosmic Caliphate" Zionist, his ilk seems to be using this to draw energy from the only real solution for us: To throw out these congressmen and elect a congress which will ENFORCE THE CONSTITUTION WE HAVE. The problem is he seems to have guys like General Lee, the trucker leader, in is sway, so though Lee is a decent enough bloke, he is baking up the wrong tree.

Important for all of us to join this debate at Lee's Facebooks:

The funny thing is they all seem to be down with 9/11 Truth so they are already halfway to being fully awake. Levin is a Zionist ploy to keep the Muslim-basing dialed up and diverting energy, but there is an inherent contradiction there we can exploit.

Let them know about the Liberty candidates emerging so we can channel that energy toward the ballot box! The Article V stuff seems fairly harmless since it's never going to happen, but can be useful as a platform to promote our Liberty candidates. Levin is duping people who want to get involved in politics for the first time in their lives. But we can Jui Jitsu this and use it to get a CLEAN SWEEP OF CONGRESS!

Release the Sandy Hook video.

Welcome my son, to The Machine | Lest there be any doubt, The Second Machine Age is upon us.

Correction Please

Not to nitpick, but it's not Ben Swann who is the author of this article but Evan Mulch on BenSwann.com. Still, great post Vots!

Did anyone see Levin hawking these idiotic ideas on Hannity's Fox News audience show? Nothing but softball questions from the "expert" audience. Only one audience member said (paraphrasing from memory), "Mark, what makes you think that any of this would work given that the Constitution is already ignored?" Levin replied with some glib answer.

And Levin calls Evan Mulch a dummy? Outrageous.

Happy New Year everyone!

Can anyone think of a single

Can anyone think of a single amendment on which 2/3 of congress will agree on, and then 3/4 of states will agree on? I sure can't think of any.

Why change the constitution, just get your party's guy elected, and they can do whatever dictatorial thing they want. The precedent has already been set that all of your rights do not exist. The only way a person gets their rights is if their plight goes viral on the internet, forcing the media to actually cover it, and forcing the politicians to act as if they are moral.

We had our Mr. Smith

We had our Mr. Smith http://vimeo.com/49156759

Can one person still make a difference when all the media and the rest of your fellow Congressman are against you?

I think they can. But it depends on how they go about it. I have my own plans. They are about 8 years in the making. There has to be some sort of an enlightenment. Most, including Congress, can't see the cliff is just ahead.

Take the bi-partisan budget that was just passed. It actually increases the deficits by $63 billion over the next two years with only a "promise" to reduce the deficit (not to be confused with debt) by $23 billion over the next 10 years.

There is not one mention of the National Debt or the potential of higher payments on the interest owed should interest rates rise further. What are the odds the Federal Reserve and Congress, who with all their economic advisors didn't see the 2008 Financial Crisis coming, will see what's coming next when they don't even address it in a 10 year budget? The Fed's balance sheet is a sham and every tick up in interest rates they lose money.

We have been at historic low interest rates. The 10 year is already at 3.04%. Taper is a joke and was premature. Mr. Smith is out of office. The wolf is indeed in charge of the hen house.

No Constitutional side show by Levin will do anything to stop this bi-partisan madness, especially when the pro-military crowd are involved.

Cuts will come but they will be forced cuts. Anyone kid with a calculator can do that math because they know they can't put $17 trillion into it to calculate what comes next.

Get yours out and tell me what $17,000,000,000 x 6% is.

In this day and age of computers, micro chips and bytes and bits, why can't a calculator have the ability to add one more zero?

Two things here:

1. no new law, document, constitution... will protect the Republic, unless it is supported by informed and engaged people. The Constitution outlines the timeless principles of Liberty, not the ways to deal with day-to-day politics.

2. Mark Levin attacked Ron Paul constantly, supported the FED, hawk on foreign policy.

I say 'no' to the ConCon.

The Constitution was written to be violated.

What danger is there to holding a constitutional convention with the intention of correcting the Constitution's weaknesses when the document is ignored by the politicians and rewritten by corrupt justices sitting on the SCOTUS through weaknesses deliberately written into it at the original convention?

Liberties aren't destroyed overnight. Levy and Mellor recognize this by breaking the book up into chapters focusing on specific freedoms or clauses in the constitution rather than solely one case. They masterfully focus on one case in each area while also recognizing (through "dishonorable mentions") the precedent that lead to each of the Dirty Dozen. They also detail the repercussions and cases that followed. The effect is that they manage to take a premise, twelve distinct and often unrelated cases, and construct a comprehensive argument for the Court's responsibility in the expansion of our government and erosion of our liberties.

Kenneth Royce makes a very good case that the Constitution was deliberately written with built in weaknesses for future statists to exploit, re: Hamilton, Clay, Lincoln, Marshall, Roosevelt, Roberts, Kagan, Douglas et al.

I have been reading and researching "conspiracy facts" for about 10 years know and this book, Hologram of Liberty is in my top 5% of the best books I have read.

The author, Kenneth W. Royce does a great job in researching and writing this epic. He lets the constitutional framers, I mean constitutional lawyers tell you their motives behind the constitution. The United States constitution is a 'mirror' opposite of what American's are spoon-fed on the media and at schools.

Find out who "We The People" are and the difference between 'The United States' and 'The United States of America'.

It only takes one to KEEP AMERICANS FREE. Know your duties & rights as a juror. Stop the unconstitutional conviction of innocents in federal custody. The Fully Informed Jury CALL 1-800-TEL-JURY www.fija.org IMMEDIATELY if not sooner. It's that important.

Ron, Great Post…..Thanks!

Been saying for years the path to Liberty is to nullify the Constitution and no one wants to listen….maybe this will change their minds now.

Nice Post!

You are doing a great surpreme JOB GOLDSPAN!!!

Let the bankers totally take over your mind.

What idiot would stand of for the truth brought about by the reformation? Hell, I didn't even know about it. But I've been researching it and it explains the DARK AGES, et al.

Goldspan, you HATE the truth. That is why you call me names and berate me with your scientific 'FINANCIAL' knowledge.

Do I care? Nope, I'm planning my garden, and doing so without having to insult you.

You guys are being exposed in a big way. People think corruption is new, and we need a new Constitution.

Goldspan, I doubt you will speak in depth about the Reformation and the Jesuits and all of the Vatican involvement in child trafficing and such.

You are a Peach :) So is your friend Granger

Wishful Thinking

As if all would be solved if we simply voted for it.

Maybe we should divide California into 6 states, first, and see how that goes...

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

American Flag Burning??

As cruel as they are, the leaders are often heard pulling on the heart strings of Americans by claiming that that this is a way to immediately put an end to things such as abortion, American flag burning, and an unbalanced federal budget.

What does the burning of the American flag have to do w/ anything?

Just Absurd

Who gives a rats' arse if a flag is burned. It's just coloring on fabric. There is absolutely no place in a free society for banning this behavior.

The point is to appeal to peoples patriotism and emotions. It helps them appear legitimate while they are working to strip away any vestiges liberty.

Yup, I agree.

Why do people downvote answers, and assume I agree with wiki links?

One thing I respectfully

One thing I respectfully disagree with, in regards to what the author mentions, Mark Levin mentions, John Birch Society, and many other people mention; using the phrase Constitutional Convention is not correct.

States nor Congress can call for a Constitutional Convention. The states and Congress can only call a convention for amendments only -- now I agree that we still shouldn't enter that process for the reasons listed in the article I posted.

But a Constitutional Convention is wiping the slate clean, where every word in the Constitution is up for moderation. There is in fact, no Constitutional way to call for a Constitutional Convention without amending the Constitution to do so.

"The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress; provided that no amendment which may be made prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any manner affect the first and fourth clauses in the ninth section of the first article; and that no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the Senate."

This is by no means a slight to those opposing Levin's wants. Because like I said, I am to. Because all it takes is one amendment to give Congress or the States power to call a Constitutional Convention. ;)

What is your point?

Articles of Confederation

Article 8:

Every State shall abide by the determination of the United States in Congress assembled, on all questions which by this confederation are submitted to them. And the Articles of this Confederation shall be inviolably observed by every State, and the Union shall be perpetual; nor shall any alteration at any time hereafter be made in any of them; unless such alteration be agreed to in a Congress of the United States, and be afterwards confirmed by the legislatures of every State ...

Article 7:

The Ratification of the Conventions of nine States, shall be sufficient for the Establishment of this Constitution between the States so ratifying the Same.

Are you suggesting the Constitution is null and void because proper procedure was not followed according to the original constitution, the Articles of Confederation?

At a Con Con, we become a nation of men, not laws

If we formed a new Constitutional Convention, the attendees would be rewriting the organizational rules for our society. A simple question is: Who is likely to be sent to the Convention?

I can tell you there wouldn't be one libertarian there.

I fear what the 'representatives' would do to us once they had ALL of the reins of power to play with.

I don't see what the big deal is either way on a con con

They don't follow the Constitution now.

Would giving them a new Constitution to ignore make it worse?

Of course it's not likely to make it better either.

But I think it's a good thing for a different reason.

If they have one, and when the government pretends nothing changed and ignores it, or worse, then people will realize what has happened to their country.

A con con won't change the government, but it will remove the pretense that the government is legitimate by consent.

For that reason the bad guys will stop at nothing to prevent it. They want people to be fooled into thinking the government is 'we the people'.

For that reason I wish the squeaky bloodthirsty chikenhawk success in his endeavor.

One can only marvel at

the level of hypocrisy.

For instance an organization like JBS would say ... a con con is dangerous because most people today would codify tyranny right into the constitution.

Isn't that what the Constitution did to the Articles of Confederation?

The best part is these people would say how wonderful the Constitution is when in fact the Constitution represents one of the greatest consolidations of power in American history. How about anti-federalists who opposed the Constitution? I wonder what advice these groups would have given to them ... tough titties because a new constitution has been ratified?

In one hand these people praise the constitution and the usurpation it represents while the other hand is bitching about any notion of a modern con con because the present majority opinion might not share their same views including even more powers in a modern constitution.

I am a Bircher and I proudly believe governments just authority derives from the consent of the governed and that each generation should be able to draft a constitution as it sees fit to be governed ... except this generation because they disagree with me. (rolls eyes) Give me a break JBS and other similar organizations.

Or how about ... I only believe in constitutions when majority political opinion is with me because I do not actually believe every generation should modify their constitution as they see fit ... especially this generation because it disagrees with me.

Or how about ... I say I am a constitutionalist because I think each generation has the right to decide how to govern itself ... except this generation because it disagrees with me so I am actually only a part time constitutionalist ... the part of the time where my opinion is blowing in the winds of a majority.

County republican convention

I was selected from my precinct as a delegate to the county republican convention. Attended that convention I watched the idiots in attendance literally vote to do away with due process as one of the party platform changes. Only a handful of Ron Paul delegates and a few older delegates voted against it. I would say the dumbing-down of the population caused by the public education system has rendered this generation too ill informed to make changes to the constitution.

Add to that the majority of the people who have been calling for a constitutional convention since I was 12 years old (1968) are doing so with the intent to correct the problems the bill of rights have created for the one world government, especially those pesky guns.

The three greatest atrocities in human history: Nazi Germany, Communist Russia during the great purge and Communist China under Mao Tse-tung. In each case millions of citizens were murdered by their governments. These all have one thing in common, gun/owner registration. These lists proved invaluable in the disarmament of the citizens.

Mighty mountains in grandeur stand, but tiny raindrops turn them to sand! Noah, I think I just felt a raindrop!!

I am simply pointing out the hypocrisy ...

Clearly anything I have stated in this thread is highly unpopular because it is being downvoted. Unfortunately for people down voting that doesn't make anything I have stated more or less true ... it just means it is unpopular. If what I have written is true it doesn't reflect well on people down voting that which is true. If what I have written is not true it doesn't reflect well on people down voting without pointing out anything untrue.

You state:

"I would say the dumbing-down of the population caused by the public education system has rendered this generation too ill informed to make changes to the constitution."

Premise: All humans begin life with no knowledge.
Premise: Public education institutions increase knowledge.

Conclusion: All humans who attend a public education institution have increased knowledge.

I would say that is true. How does that jive with what you are saying? It would make what you are saying false if it is impossible to dumb down one with no knowledge and only possible to increase the knowledge of one with no knowledge. Also, how is knowledge decreased without some kind of brain injury? Your argument is essentially you do not feel people acquire the right kind of knowledge.

You confirm what I stated. There is a hypocrisy that exists for anyone who says they believe in the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration of Independence states all just authority is derived from the consent of the governed. That means if the governed consent to tyranny ... tyranny is just.

You confirm the hypocrisy ... I support people deciding how to govern themselves ... except this generation.

I do like the Declaration of Independence but I also advocate geographical organization. One can not have their cake and eat it too. I have no objection to just authority being derived from the consent of the governed because everyone is free to relocate and like minded people are free to geographically organize and make their beliefs reality.

How does a man with the most irritating voice

get a radio talk show in the first place?

Expose Levin's nonsense in

Expose Levin's nonsense in historical terms everywhere. Like Hamilton and the neo-conservatives, he's a danger to this republic. Personally, I'm pleased to see Ben's website address Levin's nonsense. In this process of exposing Levin, more Americans will truly become educated on the dangers of convening an Article 5 convention today. Let the war with Levin begin!

One of Levin's acolytes admitting his own lack of brain power... Both neo-conservatives and progressives possess a common worship of "celebrities", or well-known people of questionable integrity.

"... He just said he would address the dummies concerns when he got back, he is currently off work... If only half of us had half the brain of Levin"

From Prohibition to the

From Prohibition to the nearly adopted ERA, American history shows an unnerving propensity to modify its founding documents to our own peril. We all know that 35 states would never ratify the loony ERA, right?

Don't fall for that one unless the states are there

Alexander Hamilton proved why Con-Con's are never wise for the ignorant and misinformed..Jefferson was merely the first to expose Hamilton for the big government shill he truly is.

Unless the states delegates are there

There is no reason for one...
