US Voted Most Significant Threat to World Peace in Survey of 68 Countries

The US has been voted as the most significant threat to world peace in a survey across 68 different countries. Anti-American sentiment was not only recorded in antagonistic countries, but also in many allied NATO partners like Turkey and Greece.

A global survey conducted by the Worldwide Independent Network and Gallup at the end of 2013 revealed strong animosity towards the US’s role as the world’s policeman. Citizens across over 60 nations were asked: “Which country do you think is the greatest threat to peace in the world today?”

The US topped the list, with 24 percent of people believing America to be the biggest danger to peace. Pakistan came second, with 8 percent of the vote and was closely followed by China with 6 percent. Afghanistan, Iran, Israel and North Korea came in joint fourth place with 5 percent of the vote.

The threat from the US was rated most highly in the Middle East and North Africa, those areas most recently affected by American military intervention. Moreover, the survey showed that even Americans regard their country as a potential threat with 13 percent of them voting the US could disrupt global status quo.

Ron Paul Was Crazy!!!

So said the establishment candidates when Ron Paul pointed out that the countries overseas did not hate us because they despise our freedoms but because we were over there. The Neocon followers, especially at The Blaze, called us Ron Paul supporters nut jobs wearing tin foil hats because we spread that same sentiment. Well I cannot wait to start posting this link all over The Blaze. Think it will do any good?

This really is a crying shame what we've come to in the eyes...

...of the world.

SHAME on the Neo-Cons and other modern day war-mongers who have not only ruined our reputation, but have cost us so dearly in blood and treasure.

While those who make (or support) these policies sit in posh, warm, safe offices or studios and profit from their immorality.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

It would seem logical that the most militarized nation

would have at least the appearance of the biggest threat. Add in the fact we are in several theaters of combat now, looks like the USA wins that award.

Not just the "appearance", but ...

...the United States has decades of hardcore evidence proving that it's not only a threat, but that it actually practices what it preaches -- invading country after country and killing millions of human beings.

A nation with "at least the appearance" of being the biggest threat might be China, as they are highly militarized, but they don't go around bombing and invading countries.

It's an interesting juxtaposition, China -- the evil communist empire with a million soldiers, but they trade and don't attack, and the U.S. - the "free, human rights champion of the world" who makes it a practice of unleashing the fury of its military on any nation that doesn't "play ball" and accept a central bank into its economy.

"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a rEVOLution before tomorrow morning." - Henry Ford

5 of the top 7 countries have nukes

Should be pointed out.

This paragraph must frustrate the Neo-Cons
"The American government’s credibility was dealt a blow earlier this year when President Obama made a call to strike Syria following a suspected chemical weapons attack by the Syrian government on civilians. The American public and the international community both opposed the action. "

Despite the money poured into propaganda, average Joe & Jane American are not believing the lies.

Everyday the MSM press still screams at us to go to war.

More generally, the State is the biggest threat to liberty

regardless of which national flavor it takes on.

Yep, unfortunately for us.

Some disturbing things in the article stand out (among many disturbing things). Only 13% voting that the US could disturb the global status quo? Then there's this little gem: "...70 percent of Americans believe the government lacks the ability to make progress on the important problems and issues facing the country in 2014.” Really? Lacks the ABILITY or the WILL?

We are #1. Woohoo!

In so many things.

1) Killing of foreigners.
2) Prison population.
3) Number of concurrent active military engagements.
4) Amount of money spent on MIC.
5) Killing, maiming of it's own citizens.
6) Producer of food products that can only be marginally called food.
7) People who can't locate more than 2-3 states on a map.

On a side note, that is related to the idiocy/obliviousness of the US population.

I drove between FL and OK over the holidays. On my way back, at a rest stop, I encountered a woman and her grown son who asked for a ride. I am not particularly skittish about hitchhikers and generally don't mind giving someone a ride if the conditions are correct. So I asked where they were going, they told me, and I determined I could take them almost their entire trip. They responded by asking where I was headed, and when I said FL, they queried, is that east of here? I told them yes, but unfortunately, I couldn't help them. I didn't help them because I couldn't imagine spending the next 4 hours stuck in a car with people who couldn't locate Florida on a map. I will give a pass to people for a lot of states, but some states are different, NY, FL, CA, TX are pretty much the dead obvious ones to anyone with 5 brain cells.
