Is the Daily Paul the best designed site you've ever been on?

It's definitely one of the top for me, just keeps getting better. Whoever is behind this has some brains.

Especially since allowing embedded video and photos, yes!

I find it easy to navigate.

Undo what Wilson did

I like it a lot but...

it could use some sort of user rating that is based on user feedback. And you could see a persons overall rating on every comment they make. This way you can skip over the folks that are trying to steer the focus etc... Just my 2 cents but I like the daily paul a lot! Notice I didn't say sort the comments or hide anyone's comments in any way. After all I want to see what everyone has to say without some unknown farce trying to figure out what I want to see....cheers!

Like Elvis, there was nothing before the Daily Paul.

Believe it.

I've heard it, but to me

I've heard it, but to me they're like the sea monsters that used to be drawn around the edges of old maps.

best forum that i've ever seen..

the indented comments are great..this was the 1st forum i've ever seen that had indented comments

It's functional, user friendly, and serves its purpose

You mean this dump?

This old dusty loft with the pain peeling off it near the waste disposal plant with dogs wandering in and out open doorways and sniffing at empty pizza boxes? This worn down over sexed vexation nozzle that goes off whenever bats play music in the rafters while cats yowl a whole new tune in the alleyway whispering with fishbreath to slick kittens meow puss in boots?

Are you talking about this site that comes trundling a wheel barrow with muddy boots across Persian carpets and conspiciously placed tapastries they tried so hard to display with a look of unstudied nonchalance, this site that fairly screeches disharmony in the middle of an opera like the guy that just had to bring the bag of chips?

Are you talking about this site that got here in a stolen ambulance and even now is attempting to animate a corpse to register a troll profile son? Is that what you came here to find out? And this is what you want to know? And you want me to tell you, lay it down, spin it out, make it real for you so you can feel how I feel? Can you hear me talking to you in your mind at the same time you can see my lips moving and am I close enough to your perceptions to where you can just lean right in and taste some, just get a lick?

Well hey brother. Gotta be real. Power to the people.

smudge, you should write novels

You could be like a libertarian Terry Pratchett.

I feel it reads better. So this is me reading it.

That was good!

I liked it.

Best designed? No.

Is it sexy? No.

It's well structured and easy to navigate, but it's DEFINITELY not visually appealing, imo.

I'm not saying it should be visually appealing - it is a political website, but there's no way, in good conscience, I could say the DP looks good. It's plain, outdated, and un-fresh.

Again, I'm not complaining, but I just can't agree with this.

And besides, this is a CMS (I believe it's Drupal) - I'm certain no one here created this theme, it was merely download, installed, and edited.

With MN figuring out a good time to end the DP, I won't be making suggestions on how to improve it.

Wait, its not sexy? what

Wait, its not sexy? what about all those ads everyone is always complaining about.

I agree, the DP is extremely

I agree, the DP is extremely well designed and very intuitive. And I love the commenter color scheme - it makes it easy to follow the flow of those many entertaining side debates. I can't think of another site I frequent that's better designed, and of course there's nowhere on the web period with better conversation (although the commenters on zerohedge are certainly the wittiest anywhere).

LOL. Mike's not the web

LOL. Mike's not the web designer. Nice alliteration there.

Not even close

I am a member of several hobby and professional forums and while I do like the Daily Paul enough to drop in nearly every day, it is not one of the better designed. Not even close. It is, however, one of the most open of the politically oriented forums I regularly visit.

Search Engine issues...

Let me be crystal: I love the DP. It has a great design format. The search engine could use a tune up though. Maybe some options like:

Time (Oldest to Newest/Newest to Oldest)
Highest/Lowest votes
Types of Articles (Quicklink, Video, DP original)

Please please tell me...

you are kidding! I know this has to be a troll, you're much too wise for that Bill3. I actually sent in a well thought out critique from a designers point of view detailing somem of the glaring problems on here, yet never received a response. I love this place, but it needs cleaned up!

It's not a troll, but I'm not

It's not a troll, but I'm not really a web guy, and don't go to a lot of sites these days, no other forums. I haven't had any problems besides occasionally backing up over a comment I was typing. But you're not impressed with the site features?
