No one dumber than Lawrence O'Donnell...

"Kaitlyn... I just don't see how this could have happened..."
There you have it.
Lawrence O'donnell, champion of the state, along with his republican and democrat cohorts, just can't seem to understand how the state just simply guns down unarmed civilians...
F-ing retard.

Why call p olice?

Many of these shootings of mentally ill people seem to be the result of parents or family calling the police. I don't get it. Why would you call the police for this type of situation? The police are not mental health workers, doctors, or social workers. I would never call the police for anything, let alone this type of situation.

I am an old man.

One of the things that I have learned in this life NEVER EVER EVER call the cops.

If you think these guys are paid to help you, my experience has been the opposite. I am no criminal and have in my life spent less than one hour in one of their kidnap hostage prison cages.

They are paid to protect and serve those who pay them and protect them. The government. The lieing theives who steal from our life labors then use the stolen goods to pay thug cops to protect them.

I say this and I know there are few exceptional cops, i have never met them.

Paleo Diet is the solution

Schizophrenia can be treated/cured with Paleo and/or low-carb diet. Startpage it, all the researches are there

I too was initially angry at

I too was initially angry at the police in this incident. Then I saw the video where the boy tried to run them over with his truck and rammed two police cars.

chiming in late but...

I think you're talking about a different boy

Please have compassion for these parents...

Obviously it was a wrong decision to call the police but it's very difficult for families dealing with a schizophrenic member to find proper support. Just today I went to caretake a 25 yr old schizophrenic boy & his mom was in tears. She gave him the ultimatum, 'Do you want me to call the police or go out with Brigit today?'. He gave the obvious answer. She deals with this almost 24/7 & the only option out there is to turn him over to an establishment that will overmedicate/lobotomize him if she weren't to continue to take it all on herself. Part of this story is about the lack of choice in treatment & support for people like this in the age of big-pharma medical care.

Absolutely. I grieve for them.

Life has a few blows that change your whole life. Losing a child is one of them. And it's certainly not the time to tell these parents of their errors. And it's a harsh caution, having a child is a risk.

It's tragic that the social contract changed without official notice. These people were conditioned to believe a decent support network existed, perhaps that they are entitled to same. This belief has been put to lie many times here but word often reaches people first in the form of billyclubs and bullets. And as we find out more, the local cops were sensitive to the situation and were attempting to do what no current training or resources in police work are designed to do these days which is take care of sick people.

And it's tragic that this fantasy of benevolent government was sold to us but that was a two way transaction and previous generations bought it and now teenagers are paying for it.

I admire your bravery and kindness for helping that schizo individual and his mom out, they are lucky to have you.

I Disagree

**"This Officer Who Shot My Son He Needs To Die The Way My Son Died"**

I disagree in that it might be too quick and merciful a punishment. Making the trigger happy cop rot in a government cage to be prison raped for the rest of his life might be a more slow and fitting punishment. However, I would give the ultimate choice to the parents. :)

Just goes to show that calling cops to settle anything is dangerous. A lawyer told me about a case where a man caught several burglars in his house. He threatened the burglars to get out of his house or else! Sheriff's deputies arrived and arrested the homeowner for making a threat!!

A$$ covering LIES

Punishment

Yes, what kind of message does this send to the "civilians" that punishment for killing a defenseless(tazered twice) 18yr old 90lb "civilian" by placing the offending officer(murderer) on "paid administrative leave" is warranted while the same entity that employs said "Southports finest" investigates the "matter" in question(otherwise known as murder by the "civilian population").

These people want blood, and who can blame them? Only the state would garner support in defense of it's henious acts, it has too otherwise there is no need for it.

Ya gotta ask, What's the story with the step father?

Did the wife tell him to call 911 or did he do so without telling her? Why did he mention the screwdriver two times. Why was he so extra-calm; that seemed very unusual. He looks like an ex-cop or security guard - was it a deliberate set-up, or was it an unconscious desire to get the noisy kid out of his life, always throwing tantrums and playing drums. Was he jealous of all the attention the kid got?
I'm not saying this guy is guilty, but he should be looked at closely.
To show his loyalty, the wife should demand he put a hit on the cop who killed her son. It's time cops start paying for their crimes instead of getting paid vacations which is incentive for murder.
So when's the Revolution to start, I don't have time for this. Lol.

was a set up, step father is

was a set up, step father is actually tony hawk.

Child probably had schizophrenia because

he was abused by his parents when his brain was developing. In the 9/11 call, dad says he doesn't want to take his meds, which i say is a good thing. Should get talk therapy treatment and get off those meds.

ecorob's picture

You blame the victim?

Ludicrous.

its 'cos I owe ya, my young friend...

9/11 Truth.

What???

Are you off your meds? You obviously know nothing about Schizophrenia, so I suggest you at least read a book on it before you make an idiotic statement.

two lessons: don't invite the cops into family issues

and do not give your doctor your responsibility over your child's mental health.

SRI's and Cops are not the answer.

Tragedy of the commons these days :(

A true flower can not blossom without sunlight and a true man can not live without love.

The parents are to blame just

The parents are to blame just as much as the police.

Harsh but yeah. Sad to say. They called death in the door.

Heard the 911 call?

"He's not doing very good we gotta take him some place." Was he having trouble keeping the kid down? Nope, he's outside making the call, his wife is inside with the kid. The kid that was "armed" with a screwdriver. The kid is reportedly 80 pounds and the man who made the call looks about 200. I didn't hear any lethal struggle, the guy's voice is calm to the point of tranquil. He's basically using the police force as an elaborate taxi ride to what? A mental hospital or something? State provided services? A kennel? Is that it? He's tired of dealing with the situation and he wants the police to come put his son in a kennel or something until he settles down. Hello 911? You deal with it. I don't feel like being dad right now. Yeah you just send some boys over to be parents for me ok? OK bye.

Maybe he should have called a baby sitter. Sorry he called the cops, they kill people. Maybe he should have driven the kid to the hospital. Sorry he called the cops, they kill people. Maybe he should have called his other children, a friend, the minister, the dog catcher or the hot dog guy. Sorry he called the cops, they kill people.

There is nothing strange about having a bar of soap in your right pocket, it's just what's happening.

I figured this attitude started LONG before the boy turned 18.

I wonder if O'Donnell will ever have the epiphany...

That he WANTS this. Unarmed citizens. Armed police state. Strong democrat liberal progressive control. And all the stuff it comes with.

Such as a cop wanting to take a paid vacation.

I wish...

I could UP-vote that post thousands of times.

"Third officer arrives

and says, 'I don't have time for this,' and tazes the boy. "

In my opinion, this is exactly why Police don't follow their Oath: they get impatient.

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

From what I understand..

the third cop arrived and SHOT the boy...

Yesterday I was roaming around the internet looking at different takes on this.. I came across a post that appeared to be from an officer who had been out to the house a number of times. To paraphrase what he said was basically "good the crazy person is dead and won't be getting checks anymore and they won't have to go out there anymore"

I went to a Police Forum one time

where an officer that registered with the website has a signature of this:

"Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet."

With that mentality, I believe a Police State will be easy to sustain.

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

mhmm

Cops say some interesting stuff on their websites.

It is completely night and day

from what I use to think officers were like: professional and always the "good guys."

I remember the moment when I first thought, "Do the Police really care?"

I'll admit that I was watching a lot of Police Abuse videos at that time, but then I read about the verdicts in some of these cases:

Administrative leave with pay.

And that's about 95% of cases WITH audio/video.

On top of that, how many LEO's/PO's truly follow the Constitution and/or understand the Bill of Rights?

If you don't know your rights, you don't have any.

yes it is..

I come across a few who stand up and speak out~
