This was very good. :)
Standing there, very presidential. ;)
He is way too passive for my taste. Too many "I think" "it's interesting" which are all hesitant answers. He has to be much more forceful in his beliefs. He comes across as wishy washy and too careful, i.e. too much like a politician..
If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...
The problem is that forceful and hardcore was/is never good for anything long term.
To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.
Are White House grounds like some kind of conference room you can reserve?
has a semi-permanent set up of press corps. Remember freedom of the press and their function is an important part of our government setup. So no matter what administration is in charge the press corps are going to be allowed to be there.
Usually these correspondents are only interested in covering prominent D.C. policy makers, like the Speaker of the House for example or maybe party leaders. The fact that they covered Rand Paul on his visit to the WH shows just how much political clout he's gaining.
Some say he is saying Snowden should be punished. But by saying we should apply the law to both Snowden and Clapper, he is essentially saying no punishment for Snowden, because he knows they won't touch Clapper.
And gets to point out the hypocrisy of it all.
This is very goosebumpy watching him give this address from White House grounds. I don't believe his dad was allowed to do anything like this, ever. Not even during Reagan's time.
It gives me goosebumps, but also creates some apprehension in my tummy. Knowing the nature of enemy we're dealing with, I hope CIA-Federal Reserve don't end up making a future JFK out of him.
Immoral funding of Military Industrial Complex by Federal Reserve and US taxation system must stop!!!! End illegal/unconstitutional wars! Preserve US currency!
Funny how the press coverage differs between their coverage of Rand and Ron.
I hope Rand gets his "zones" and then we can sue for equal protection from taxes.
What do you think? http://consequeries.com/
Article I, Section 8 - The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
Amendment 16 - The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
He's talking about forgiving certain taxes, which aren't required to be uniform.
I really enjoy seeing Senator Paul speaking from the white house. Hopefully after 2 years, this will be a very regular site.
Here’s an amusing exchange with reporters starting around 5:00:
“…those who call for some sort of frontier justice for him (Edward Snowden) need to understand there needs to be equal protection and the law needs to be applied equally. James Clapper, by all accounts, committed perjury which is punishable by five years in prison and if you want to throw the book at Snowden I think it’s a little hard to say, “O, but we’re not going to do anything about James Clapper lying to Congress.”
A reporter then asked, “You’re not going to compare what Clapper did to Snowden are you?” Sen. Paul shot back, “I think I just did,” with a smile. The reporters then laughed...

"If you’re into political activism, at least for Ron Paul if not for anyone else, I strongly recommend spending some time with iroots.org." - Tom Woods
That Rand Paul referred to the Republicans as "THE Republicans" and not as "WE Republicans". It seems to me that he is differentiating himself as a republican, just as Ron did. Of course every news media outlet in the country did not hesitate to make that point.
He is, in my opinion, focusing on getting support from the independents and disenfranchised democrats. With a record high % of independents and an approval rating for the republicans at a record low, that's a good position to be in.
And sounding good!
to say it, but I couldn't help thinking the same thing!
I love to hear Rand speak.. I LOVE how Rand presents and answers clearly, so dummies like me can understand, get a grip. I love how he leaves out the fluff. I love how he avoided the Christy crap.
I love Rand (and Kelly, and Ron/Carol, and Benton ;P) I LOVE the Paul family.. I am so grateful to have them in my life and standing for values I believe in.
Thank you for this post (((((((emalvini - good to see you back))))))
Well said Grange! We all love the Paul's...
Forgive me, but, I still want Ron Paul to run again, even though he is seemingly gone from runnning for elective office.
there is simply no one on Gods green earth like Ron Paul
What a gentle and sweet man..
When he passes on, I will mourn for 40 days and nights..
I appreciate that Ron said he is with Rand 99% and those who take sides are wedge drivers. No one is going to drive a wedge in that family and why I LOVE them.
PS.. I had a thought about what you said.. last part.
If Ron was to pass away, I would grieve, no doubt; However, if something was to happen to Rand right now.. It would blow my mind. I would have to take a break because the most important political voice, political leadership, for me is Rand.
I wish I was able to show people here what revelations I have had (Rand helped show me), that have profoundy enriched my life. It's like finding a daimond mine and wanting to share the riches but all anyone can say is, "It's coal and it stinks and it's wrong to mine for diamonds, even though we were them anyways".
So I am sorry for many, because as my life drastically improves, it's like those who live in the hetto want to live in the ghetto, and I have to accept that though they may complain about the ghetto and blame others for living in a ghetto, they refuse to go past coal to get the diamonds. It takes LOVE. LOVE is the answer.
