One down (Christie), two to go

For months, despite the field likely to exceed a dozen, I've thought that there are only four candidates with a realistic shot at the Republican nomination for '16.

Those four being Rand, Rubio, Christie and Walker.

Christie is now toast. There's no way he overcomes this.

Good news travels fast!

Christie is toast?? GREAT!! Now he can register as a Democrat. Good riddance to smelly rubbish.

Walker? Who's that?

Walker? Who's that?

Be Your Own Media!!!

Scott Walker is currently governor of Wisconsin...

and is the GOP's 'sleeper' 2016 candidate:

Oh - and he sucks.

Defeat the panda-industrial complex

I am dusk icon. anagram me.

Christie was never anything more...

than a media creation anyway. Even without this scandal, I doubt his appeal would have ever extended beyond a few Zionist northeastern states.

Him and everybody else

I have only known of a handful of politicians who were not creations of the media or completely invisible.

Only one of them ever had a chance of becoming president.

Christie is not done in any way...

... if anything, policies aside, I think he handled it very well and if he truly knew nothing, this made him stronger.

We need to get an early start on 2016: Support Rand PAC 2016

a) Nobody with brain activity...

…thinks he knew nothing, and

b) He will forever be closely associated with 'Traffic-gate', like Rick Perry will never be able to shake "Oops". Both will therefore never smell the White House.

Remember back when John McCain was "done"?

Then he came back and took the nomination. Americans love a comeback. Christie is far from done.

McCain's "comeback" wasn't a

McCain's "comeback" wasn't a real comeback. It was more like insider trading.

Rubio was never a contender...

He's not a natural born citizen, along with Ted Cruz.

Jeb Bush

Christie has never been the primary threat... There's A LOT of status quo Republican money flowing Jeb's way right now.

"status quo Republican"

VS status quo Democrat, Hillery Clinton. Both a known quantity for the parties and both controllable. Neither will make any changes not approved by the party apprichecks and both have political machines behind them with the ability to garner huge campaign funds.
If these two get their parties nominations, it's an opportune time for a third option.

Too early to call.

It is a long time until the convention. Don't rule Christie out too soon. He's the media darling now. His liberal politics make him acceptable to the Establishment and the MSM a la Mitt Romney in 2012. Christie may be saved for 2016 to face off against the Democrat.

If Christie should win the election the Establishment power brokers will be happy. He'll be as conservative as George Bush was 2000 - 2008. In other words -- a sucker for the NEOCON's and boy will he spend the money.

You'll know if he's OK with the power brokers if he makes the usual candidate's pilgrimage to Israel before the primary election.

Another possible contender could be Scott Brown. He was introduced by Huckabee on H's TV show a week ago. He and H cut a few licks on their guitars. He was down right homey, shirt sleeves and all. He might not be presidential material but V.P.?? He's as good a pick as Ryan was. Establishment Republicans like the clean cut collegiate type..

Rubio's toast. He destroyed himself over the immigration reform. But don't leave out Jeb! He's the BIGGEST contender with a father who was the former director of the CIA and POTUS and a brother who was also POTUS.

Just please, please, please

Just please, please, please do not bring back Huckabee or Santorium. Those sniveling phonies make my skin crawl when I hear or read anything they have to say.

Santorum is coming back

I can't stand him either.

He's the man.

Huckabee may be coming back too

He has ended his radio show in anticipation of 'new endeavors.'...

Huckabee, meanwhile, has not ruled out a possible 2016 presidential bid. In September, for instance, he told POLITICO he had been “informally chatting with people,” and on Nov. 7, Huckabee again addressed potentially running after his guest, CNN’s Jake Tapper, asked him if he was never running again.

“No. I’ve not said that,” Huckabee replied. “I’m not being coy, I’m just keeping my options open.”

There will always be....

Another Chris Christie.
Another Mitt Comney.
Another John McCain.
Another George Bush.
Seriously? You're still looking to the GOP for a Non-Collectivist?

Just a matter of time...

... Until the MSM sets their crosshairs on Rand.

His Maddow interview will be twisted into racism. GOP will probably black him out like Ron too, for all we know

Michael Nystrom's picture

Yes, Rand will get his turn as well

No doubt.

And while it was kind of entertaining watching the Christie car wreck, I don't think people around here will be nearly as entertained on Rand's turn.

Anyway, it is the nature of politics. Like a hazing of some kind.

Rick Perry got hazed last time and went down. No doubt he'll be back as well, if for no other reason that running for president is pretty profitable.

He's the man.

If Christie is done...

Pen a good comeback to this. Just found it on facebook:

He's the man.

1) Unlike Obama's alphabet soup of agencies related abuses, Christie's abuse of power is so simple even a primary voter can understand it. That matters.

2) If Obama were facing a primary challenge he'd also be in trouble.

The Colts were down by 28 points last week at halftime

They came back and won.

Yet another reason to watch sports - to understand what is possible.

Don't think for a minute Christie is done - it is still way early.

He's the man.

They were down 21 at half, 28 in the 3rd quarter. :)

I get your point, but this was a clear, simple, petty, stupid abuse of power (it's black and white, and it hurt people), and it's obvious to anyone with brain waves that he knew.

He will forever be known as the lying, tyrannical creep who inconvenienced tens of thousands over a four day span simply because he could.

He won't shake this even if he stays in office, which ain't a given. He's toast, despite Fox News' disgusting efforts to whitewash it.

And what about Jeb?

The Bush family always seems to be attached to the end of the puppet strings.
