Obviously everyone is having

Obviously everyone is having their data collected. For the most part the data is nothing that anyone collecting it is caring about. Imagine the sheer logistics of sifting through all the data.

Yes there are computers that do keyword searches, throw up flags, and some nerdy dude somewhere checks it out looking for terrorists. Of course they will only find idiots spouting bravado, and claim they have thwarted some dastardly plot. We all know that a smart terrorist will be using low tech communication methods, or communicating in code, or though encrypted methods. The intelligence agencies know this as well, but they want to maintain their shovel ready jobs.

The data collected really only comes into play if you are a major enough of a nail sticking up, that needs to be hammered down. The first priorities of those in power is maintaining and expanding their power. Power being an illusion of course.

Truthfully, the government has ALWAYS spied on ALL

Americans since it was founded. The difference is technology. Today, we can more easily collect massive amounts of data on so many more people.

The government spied on the Civil Rights leaders in the 60's, tapping phones, intercepting mail, eaves dropping, etc. on MKL, Malcolm X, anyone, everyone.

It's what they do. 911's purpose was to open the legal door to do it on a grand scale, all in the name of national security to keep us safe. The Patriot Act was the first step. NDAA is the second step to allow government to do something about it if they see fit.

Any step to limit government is deemed a threat and in the name of national security, they have the legal right to take whatever steps necessary to stop it.

Basically, we've become a communist country without the label.

Given the line they're willing to cross, it's not a far stretch to believe that elections are rigged as well.

We're past the point of a civil, non-violent revolution to stop it. The question is when, who, where will the next first shot heard around the world take place.

Or maybe no shot

And America can die with a whimper instead of a bang, and the other 95% of humanity can go on living.

The next presidential election will tell the tell...

Our next war may be "Civil".

"We can neither confirm nor deny the allegations."

... Soooo... the NSA is taking the 5th? On the grounds that answering directly may incriminate them? :)

Bring on the Judge!

"I, __________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic."

There is no duration defined in the Oath

The Rights of American Persons

The rights of American persons are the same rights we all have, the right to be secure in our persons and effects from searches, is not limited to Americans. Due process is a natural right, and the Constitution prohibits the violation of that right for any person, regardless of nationality.

Rights are rights.

Great job by Judge Nap here. It was enlightening how he said the NSA's response to Bernie Sanders' question (about whether or not the NSA is spying or has spied on members of congress) was intentionally vague to prevent criminal prosecution for lying.

Here ya go OP :)

"This is a SERIOUS Constitutional issue and they refuse to deny it."

Thanks Golden!
