Arizona's Maricopa County Republicans Censure John McCain

The Maricopa County Republican Party in Arizona formally censured Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) Saturday evening by an overwhelming 1150-351 vote, Breitbart News has learned.

Maricopa County is Arizona's most populous county and includes Phoenix within its borders. The official GOP body's rebuke undermines McCain's reelection chances should he decide to run for the Senate again in 2016.

Now the whole party has gotten on board!

great work by our C4L forks out there

As well as all of the good republicans who overwhelmingly voted for censure.

"No army can stop an idea whose time has come"

To be fair

Ron Paul also praised his opponates. He disagreed on issues, but seperated the man from the issues. It used to drive me crazy.. now I see the wisdom, and one day, I may actually get it enough to be more like the Pauls (long way to go I know).

I never saw Ron praise Rudy or John McCain

Never saw him praise Newt either

Rand praised McCains military career

that was it, and nothing wrong with that. Ron never insulted McCain ir Rudy. Ron Paul was always a gentleman.

You said praise, not being a gentleman was never mentioned

And everyone knows McCain's military career is bullshit, even Rand!

New to politics (under 2 years) I have given this a lot of thought.

My goal is to urge the people in my committee and community to examine actual voting records.

If they do, good. If they do not, I will grow bored and find another hobby to keep myself entertained.

Not good, Michael, you just earned another down vote, lol :-P

Excellent diplomacy

Paul, who also was scheduled to headline an Arizona Republican Party reception and a Goldwater Institute dinner, suggested the media likes to focus on conflict and amplify discord in general, which he said helps explain why he and McCain are often portrayed as being at odds.

"We don’t always agree, but because we disagree on things, people don’t point out things we do agree on," Paul said. "He’s been an advocate for getting rid of government waste, including even waste in the military-procurement process, and doggedly fought for a lot of those things that I agree with."

McCain told The Republic that even with his "very strong libertarian views," Paul is still "more centrist" than his father.

"We have a very cordial relationship," McCain said of Rand Paul. "I haven’t picked anybody for 2016, but Rand Paul is a very forthright and effective senator. We certainly have our disagreements, but I have a very high regard for him."

Good Job! Some Republicans are Standing up to McCain and

calling a spade a spade on conservative issues.

Yet AM rightwing talk radio in phoenix spent all day making excuse after excuse for McCain and vilified and "fringed" the GOP republicans for having the backbone to take a stand.

This goes to show that even local right-wing talk radio is "in the tank" for GOP talking points controlled from above. No bottom-up grassroots activity allowed. Callers were "spun" to forgive McCain and not forgive "those zealots" in the GOP.

After listening to this... it comes clear that not only must we infiltrate the GOP from the inside, we must infiltrate Talk Radio (or counter its massive influence to the non-readers out there prefer listening to their politics which is I guess is just about everyone). Suddenly I see the massive need to email Patriot Radio to all our friends and family and most importantly, those who are not friends and family.

I don't get it

Censorship = Liberty?

I may not agree with a thing McCan't says, but I do stand for his right to say it.

Maybe you should actually read the story :

"The censure states that formally, “until he consistently champions our Party’s Platform and values, we, the Republican leadership in Arizona will no longer support, campaign for or endorse John McCain as our U.S. Senator.” "

Ron Swanson

Maybe

Now it's not only censurship but coersion.

Is this how you want to be treated? Do ot our way and you can speak again!. To me, this is not keeping with the first admendment.

So I'm sure this would be one of your all-time favorites

John McCain singing "Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-zoPgv_nYg

No

I don't agree with McCan't and his supposedly support for Israel by with MIC investments and MSM saber rattling on Iran. I'm no fan of Iran, and a big admirer of Israel. I fully believe Israel can handle its situation without US interference in the name of support.

That said, I don't see how censorship of any voice is liberty.

He speaks for the people.

McCain is a REPRESENTATIVE of the voters who elected him. McCain does not represent the people and therefore they censored him for refusing to do what he was elected to do. It's about time representatives are reminded of what their job function is.

Thank you for trying Dale

I'm not getting it and I'm not finding anything on the web.

How does this work? Someone goes to McCan't's office and wraps yellow tape around it? Some organization passes out ear plugs?

Seems to me, this is going to give us more McCan't rants.

egapele's picture

He is an elected representative

in the Senate.

Big difference.

What's the big difference?

Elected representatives to the Senate should be censored?

How does that make a transparent government?

If I was a crrok, I'd want you to censor me.. then I can feel no guilt telling you what's coming down.

This wouldn't be the first issue I'm NOT getting on DP. I genuinely don't get it and your answer didn't help. I bet 99% here got it,, but I'm just too dense because I'm really not getting it.

egapele's picture

Haven't we all heard that before

"Hillary on Libya: 'What Difference Does It Make?'"

With all due respect, the fact is we have four dead Americans. Whether it was because of a protest or because guys outside for a walk one night decided to go kill some Americans. What difference at this point does it make?

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/01/23/Hillary-W...

I don't know

Are you saying Hillary should have been censored?

egapele's picture

Censor vs. censure

They sound alike but not the same: censor sounds like senser and censure sounds like senshure. Remember: to be censored is to be stopped from saying something; to be censured is to be reprimanded after you've said it.

Thank you

Hopefully you understood my meaning despite my poor vocabulary.

Wow

this is huge!!!

Mohave County voted to censure McCain also

McCain draws ire of local Republicans

BULLHEAD CITY — A majority of precinct committee members of the Mohave County Republican Central Committee passed a resolution to censure U.S. Sen. John McCain.

Not happy with Flake either:
“I’m not too pleased with Sen. Flake’s voting record,” Gould said. “When he was in the House, he was one of the most conservative members.” But once he took office, “Right out of the gate, he jumped on the amnesty bandwagon,” Gould said. “Hopefully his voting record will improve.”
