Death of Kelly Thomas
Ex-Officers Found Not Guilty in Kelly Thomas’ Beating Death
A diagnosed schizophrenic wandering around the streets? Check.
Not one person willing to take responsibility for him, care for him or even take an interest in his well being? Check.
Frightened, hysterical consumers out to drink themselves dumb, watch idiot ball or peruse the damaged offerings at the late night meat market, callously disregarding the lunatic outside? Check.
The local business owner calling 911 for the psychopath mercenaries to come cart away the human trash outside, rather than in any way try to help or comfort him? Check.
The psychotic cops showing up and jumping on the chance to beat the pulp out of a weak, defenseless, emotionally damaged person, with no one to speak for him? Check.
The use of tasers on top of the beating, in what is becoming the bizarre, sadistic and cowardly ritual of our soul dead storm-troopers in this brave, second American century? Check!
The bemused crowd of sheep spectators standing around and watching without doing or even saying anything, as their mentally impaired neighbor, brother, is beaten to death by their morally impaired heroes, masters? Check.
30 minutes of pointless video and audio documentation which don't even make a difference, making the whole spectacle even more absurd and damning? Check.
15 or 20 unnecessary vehicles converging on the scene after the killing, god knows for what red tape or ritual purpose, clogging the area with their discordant noise and lights, before the crowd disperses back to its low grade amusements? Check.
Long, drawn out legal spectacle involving dozens of lawyers, judges, appeals and press coverage, in a two way tug of war of bullshit to sway a stupefied and impotent public, at a cost of tens of millions of dollars? Check!
An idiotic jury of probable voters handing over the spineless, brainless, morally bankrupt, predictable authoritarian verdict? Check!
P̶a̶r̶e̶n̶t̶s̶ ̶w̶h̶o̶ ̶y̶e̶s̶t̶e̶r̶d̶a̶y̶ ̶d̶i̶d̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶c̶a̶r̶e̶ ̶a̶ ̶s̶h̶r̶e̶d̶,̶ ̶n̶o̶w̶ ̶a̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶r̶e̶a̶d̶y̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶l̶a̶w̶s̶u̶i̶t̶s̶...
Parents who love their children, yet are powerless to do anything to help them, due to mindless state laws that make the mentally handicapped wards of the state rather than the responsibility of those who actually care for them and have their best interests at heart? Check.
Parents, emotionally drained and exhausted from struggling against a unreasoning state apparatus, forced to watch as a malignant neglect wears down their children, while millions of others waste away, abandoned to their fate without anyone to care? Check.
Lawsuits against some shitty little city government, which pays out, no problem, as its bloated budget isn't even strained after the oversized fleet of emergency vehicles, the overpaid scum bag cops, the overpriced surveillance equipment, the jacked up toy tasers, and the union funded legal shysters? Check!
Finally, most sadly, after this ugly, tragic, typical modern spectacle unfolds, the collective refrain of the DailyPaul, cocksure of its verdict, "The cops! The cops are to blame!" and then "The jury was fixed! Conspiracy."
Do you not see the palpable evil all around you? Do you not the wreckage of former human beings walking all around you?
Everyone involved in this from first to last did their little part, their little sin, their amoral shrug of the shoulders. Not one acted like the deceased was anything more than trash before he was killed.
It was not the cops who deemed him trash, but the consumer, the patron, and the business owner. Not the cops, but his neighbors. They all are to blame, and not some imaginary cigar smoking, jury tampering city official.
We get the government and justice we deserve, and when we place the blame on cardboard cutout scapegoats, instead of seeing the evil that beads like sweat from the air all around us, we can expect more of the same.
[Apologies for making the same hasty judgment about the parents.]
