Live Free and High: N.H. House Votes to Legalize Pot

After a passionate debate, the New Hampshire House of Representatives endorsed a bill Wednesday that would legalize marijuana in the state.

The vote was a nail-biter, with closely divided legislators initially voting against legalization 170-168 before choosing to vote again, the second time approving legalizing pot with 170 votes.

The bill, HB 492, would decriminalize possession of 1 ounce of marijuana by adults age 21 or older and allow residents to grow up to six plants. State-licensed stores would be authorized to sell marijuana.

"As a libertarian I've always believed people are responsible for their own decisions: you drink too much, you smoke too much, you pay the consequences," bill sponsor Steve Vaillancourt said, sharing that he personally consumes too much salt.

Keep em coming..

I didn't even think I would see ANY TYPE of recreational legalization in the us IN MY LIFETIME! Now Colorado, Washington; Oregon has voted on it, now New Hampshire will possibly vote on it, and Maine seems to be on the verge of a vote as well.

So keep the states coming.

I live in Indiana. I would love to see legalization happen in my state; Is it likely? We are not even medical yet.

wow, how awesome

Too bad the Democratic governor is going to veto the bill.

The MSM isn't telling you! Weed-rage is sweeping Colorado, people are driving cars into government buildings, burning and raping, all of the children have been killed along with all cats and puppies, nuns are being violated, the whole state is a smoldering ruin, the national guard has been deployed and the sun no longer shines there. The effects of marijuana known to be irreversible, president Obama has opted for a tactical nuclear strike to "cleanse" the state.

Most of those who think so actually don't and most of those who think sew actually rip.

about that reefer madness!

Oh, The Humanity!!!

or legalize?

sounds like it!

Since growing would be legal, it is not just decriminalized (lesser punishment) but is truly legalized. Is hell freezing over out there??!! It is about time to make it federally legal and take it off the controlled substance list. It is proven so much safer than alcohol. Alcohol is likely the gateway drug, anyway!

May move there if it passes...

New England is really opening up for pot freedom, while at the same time destroying self-defense/firearm freedom.

If New Hampshire passes this, they'll have the better of both worlds.

Are you a POT or a PET - Person Embracing Tyranny?

Good news
