The more you spend the more you pay. Dr. Paul is correct in getting rid of the IRS.

I'm having a hard time
I'm having a hard time finding documentation, but it does stand to reason that it would work. remember, there would be NO EXCEPTIONS. It would apply to all goods and services. That includes:
houses
rents, residential and commercial
salaries
raw materials
skyscrapers
That's a lot of chickens. It's based on M1 - basically the total amount of money that changes hands every day.
I think it's a beautiful idea.

Constitutional also
I have also had trouble finding any further info about this proposal. It does sound very interesting. Best of all, it's constitutional!
I've tried to research this, but can't find anything
I search various forms of 1% sales tax at all levels and 1% VAT at both Cato and Lew Rockwell and nothing comes up. Does anyone have any details?
Better than what we got now.
I would like no income tax like Ron Paul promotes. But this would be far and away better than the current system. Firstly, you get rid of the expense of running the IRS and processing returns and sending out rebates. Just tack on 1% on top of the sales tax. Secondly, this method is fraud proof, you buy stuff you pay the tax. No one can evade that or try to fraudulently report your income. The economy would prosper and people could keep their money. The govt. would probably make more money. And people would not be in constant fear of the IRS and being audited. Go Ron Go.
