Wow

How about at the 1:16 mark where he's on 1 foot balancing and yet waving his arms around.

One thing that occurs to me is that if this guy falls while walking over an urban area, he could end up killing or critically injuring someone.

Kinda grabs ya by the 'alls! (with or without such endowments)

Not at all a fan of this kind of video in just one key sense. I love his liberty to do all he has proven he could do, and survive, but I would hope for better discretion to be posted than the disclaimers shown at the beginning and end, when most folks aren't watching.

It is nearly impossible for many of us to even conceive of being both fit and spy enough to even attempt this at ANY elevation, much less THIS high up!

Then add to that the element of putting on camera what some fool with more muscles and dexterity than a reason to live, will doubtless attempt likewise. Failure does not offer a slow outcome. Success like this only wprks for a short while.

No. They are not dumb.

They know what they are doing could kill them, they want to do it anyways.

They are living their lives exactly how they want to. There is nothing dumb about that. Testing the limits, quite literally living on the edge. That’s how they want to live and they are not hurting anyone except potentially themselves.

Some people never leave the safety of everyday life to experience the rush those people above are experiencing.

If they die they are going to die happy pushing themselves to see how far they can take it. I personally wouldn't go that route as far as pushing my limits as I lack balance and grace. Although I might see if Mountaincat will take me caving with him sometime, although claustrophobia sets in quick for me so maybe not.

Like I said though, they might die, but they are going to die doing what they want.

That’s not dumb.

That’s freedom.

Exactly.

Exactly.

Alex Honnold!

I love that guy! He is one in a billion. Absolutely amazing. Probably one the most amazing people on this planet. And humble to boot. The dude lives in a van down by the river.

Are you a climber, mountaincat?

What?!!? Mountaincat, please make this a post!!!

I was just stopping by to pick up a book, and I saw this thread going on.

I want to hear about this. Where have you been? Where are your favorite caves? Where would you like to go? How long have you been doing this?

That’s so cool! We have been jamming for a year now, and I didn’t even know that about you.

Now I wanna know more.

Consider making this a post in the interest of bringing your interests here. I can’t be the only one all sorts of curious now…..

More please….

ah, that would explain the bat logo :)

How many spelunkers have you rescued?

Ten or twelve

Not including self rescues. I am on call.

His 15 minutes of fame likely ends in death

I hope he enjoys it while it lasts.
