Liberal icon urges Obama impeachment 'The most destructive, dangerous president we've ever had'

WASHINGTON — Worse than Richard Nixon. An unprecedented abuse of powers. The most un-American president in the nation’s history.

Nat Hentoff does not think much of President Obama.

And now, the famous journalist says it is time to begin looking into impeachment.

Hentoff sees the biggest problem as Obama’s penchant to rule by executive order when he can’t convince Congress to do things his way.

The issue jumped back into the headlines last week when, just before his first Cabinet meeting of 2014, Obama said, “I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone … and I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions.”

“Apparently he doesn’t give one damn about the separation of powers,” Hentoff told WND. “Never before in our history has a president done these things.”

And just to make sure everyone knows how extremely serious he regards the situation, the journalist added, “This is the worst state, I think, the country has ever been in.”

Worse than Bush Jr.? I don't think so. Not even in top 5 worst.

Who attacked Iraq?
And Afghanistan?
Who put in the most Un-American Patriot Act?
Homeland Security?
NSA?
TSA?
9/11?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The order of the worst 5 presidents is:
1. Woodrow Wilson (Federal Income Tax, Federal Reserve, WWI etc)
2. FDR (Socialist Security, U.N., WWII-he knew about Pearl Harbor)
3. Bush Jr. (Iraq, Afghanistan, Patriot Act, Homeland Security, etc)
4. Bush Sr. (Kuwait, ex-CIA head - that's enough in itself)
5. LBJ (Vietnam, Great Society, Executive bully tactics)
THEN maybe Obama but the jury is still out on that yet. Herbert Hoover, Teddy Roosevelt and several others could be in front of Obama.
Anyone who says Obama is the worst president ever, is SHORT-SIGHTED and is saying that all the (unnessary) wars those former presidents got us into were not consequential to major losses of our freedoms.
I will always argue that the U.S. has had no business in any of the wars of the 20th century - even WWII.
Because without our participation in WWI there most likely would not have been a WWII.
Why? Because WWI was at a stalemate before we entered and would have fizzled out without a clear winner - and most importantly, NO TREATY OF VERSAILLES.
"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul
You might be right.
I would think that Abe Lincoln would be pretty high up on that list as well. It's very hard for me not to include Obama on my top five worst list. Even though he has not thrown us into another invasion, though he has tried with Syria, he still has ramped up the war on terror and expanded the use of military in scary new ways. I see NDAA and ACA as being in the same league as the Patriot Act and I look at the impact that government has on our lives as growing under Obama as great as it did under any of the others on your list.
When I think about the worst presidents of all time I usually end up figuring that they really cannot go in numerical order. Really we can only guess at the full implications of the programs that have been passed into law in the last decade or so. Do you think that when our grandparents were young they would have guessed that social security would be $30 trillion in the hole by the time they had grand children? It's frightening to think where the growing surveillance state will take us if we don't change our trajectory.
WND to report this?
this will never get traction among liberals.
And yet he's a Senior Fellow at the CATO Institute
I'm just questioning the 'liberal' tag.
Aside from Koch, CATO boasts these among its donors:
Philip Morris, R.J. Reynolds, GTE Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, NYNEX Corporation, Viacom, American Express, Chase, Citicorp/Citibank, Prudential Securities, Chevron, Exxon, Shell, Tenneco Gas, the American Petroleum Institute, Amoco Foundation, and big pharma companies Merck and Pfizer.
So does that make CATO 'liberal' or a non-partisan decepti-org pushing corporatism?
I think I'm too tired right now to sort out this left-right magic show!
moonlights as the superhero "Captain Obvious" in his spare time. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Or maybe he is really "Captain hindsight" from Southpark.
Seriously, I'm amazed this whole system hasn't self destructed yet. I see more and more dissent every day...from all sides...
