Republican Party Calls For Investigation Into NSA Snooping: Good News for Rand's Aspirations!

Sounds like good news for Rand:

In the latest indication of a growing libertarian wing of the GOP, the Republican National Committee passed a resolution Friday calling for an investigation into the “gross infringement” of Americans’ rights by National Security Agency programs that were revealed by Edward Snowden.

The measure, the “Resolution to Renounce the National Security Agency’s Surveillance Program,” passed by an “overwhelming majority” by voice vote, along with resolutions calling for the repeal of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act and reaffirming the party’s pro-life stance, according to Reince Priebus, the RNC chairman.

back stabbing:

Please remember what we learned in politics school about back stabbing:
Resolutions are not laws and have no teeth.
They just make you feel good and get you off the politicians’ ass.
Works pretty good don't you think?

Why the need to externalize who it is good for?

Isn't it good for Americans? Is it good for you? Why would you first think it is "good for Rand Paul?"

Are we that disconnected from ourselves that we think first about which politician this benefits?

I agree with George, that it is time to start courting the Democratic party as well.

What is their stance?

If we want divide and conquer, then we'll have the GOP for this, and the Dems against it.

If we really want to change the country, we need ALL AMERICANS for it, and both parties will follow. And then it doesn't matter which politician wins.

I'm pretty tired of the political grandstanding. They fooled me a couple of times, but I see what is going on.

He's the man.

what's "yourself"? I don't think that way. There is no external/internal in Truth. Yes, in the relative world this is good for me, but was thinking that this passing the GOP was particularly significant for Rand because he is a GOP and he wants to run for president. Outside of that, how much influence it has is up in the air.

...reaffirming the party's pro life stance

Reince Pubis is an idiot and a crook ....and an idiot

Courting social issues is suicide and a step in the wrong direction for anyone hoping the GOP would attract the young libertarian vote from both sides.

They are gearing up their losing strategy.

They tried to bury us, they didn't know we were seeds. -mexican proverb

The social issues

really are a problem; they are so divisive. So many women are one issue voters, and abortion is their issue. Rand and Ron Paul are pro-life, and they are libertarians so I don't know about your belief that it will keep young libertarians away.
