Monsanto Is Going Organic in a Quest for the Perfect VeggieSubmitted by shrader on Fri, 01/24/2014 - 15:39
Public opposition and the marketplace seems to be successfully placing the social constraint of natural breeding, on new varieties of food producing plants and animals.
This is a much more responsible application of the science.
Carp and tomatoes don't produce viable offspring. Forcing a "shotgun" wedding on the two has always struck me as unnatural (goats that produce spider web in their milk?).
Unfortunately, it doesn't mean Monsanto is going to stop or alter the way they conduct the rest of their business, which is so low-handed, I would have a hard time trusting anything they produce (i.e. are they capable of participating in a free market on a level playing field?).
With the tone of placed propaganda, this article seems to signal recognition by the company that their perverse business model has no future, at least in the produce section.
