Really? Decriminalize? I've

Really? Decriminalize? I've not watched the video, but if it's true, this news is good. To decriminalize: to remove government involvement, to remove government offense, or attack, on the individual for using "this."

The significance of this move is huge. Decriminalization is vastly different than legalization. The former is freedom. The latter is more of the same: fascism.

If decriminalization, we're well on our way for this concept to spread like fire through a dry prairie, wildly. But I think what must be done is the enforcement of property rights, right of body, product and compensation encased in voluntarism. From what I understand, without protection of property rights, thuggery -- the activity might makes right -- could manifest societally. To reach decriminalization suddenly without this backstop, property rights, would produce hell on Earth, likely in short order.

Each of us must continue to educate ourselves so that we can inform the masses to, if nothing else, mitigate or, better, prevent a stoned citizenry, a nonthinking citizenry, a citizenry easily defeatable, easily able to be enslaved. Onward, DPers. Talk -- teach -- respect [re-: to go back to + spec(t): (to have) sight (for)], the requirement for responsibility.

Fractional Reserve

Haha, the real reason this is an important issue is because keeping so much fiat cash tied up in the system literally in the form of paper notes becomes a threat to fractional reserve banking. Faster they can turn all such "cash only" businesses' account books into computer digits, easier for them to keep Quantitative Easing Ponzi scheme alive.

Immoral funding of Military Industrial Complex by Federal Reserve and US taxation system must stop!!!! End illegal/unconstitutional wars! Preserve US currency!

Jin.dal....what can I say....what hasn't been said....

He wants to be president soo badly...
Maybe once he's no longer our govenor, we'll have a chance.

Since Colorado, I keep thinking about the increase in New Orleans tourism $$$$$...especially at Mardi Gras. Along with thousands of farm acres for cash crops.

The same govt that demonizes cigarettes is now promoting pot? The same govt that sued tobacco companies for the increased cost of medical care and then spent the dollars on cronyism and more police.

Pot causes lung cancer, so does tobacco. So why is the govt promoting pot now? To gain control via licensing, taxes regulation.

Keep the govt out of regulating personal behavior that doesn't hurt others. End the ATF and end pot taxes, regulations and restrictions.

Grow your own, don't pay taxes. Screw the govt.

The power to pardon

If he is serious he will use his executive authority to immediately and unconditionally pardon and clear the name of every MJ offender currently in TX jails and prisons.

We'll, he knows it will go nowhere here in Texas

But will make him look good (nationally) come time to run for President.
Make no doubt... He has a calculated reason for bringing this up.

I'd rather have a bottle in front o' me than a frontal lobotomy

Why do I get the feeling that

Why do I get the feeling that someone smoked him out over the summer.

it was Willie ;)

I'm gonna decriminalize it, then tax it, then I'm gonna....

Here's the full quote from the Austin Statesman

"...the point is that after 40 years of the war on drugs, I can’t change what happened in the past. What I can do as the governor of the second largest state in the nation is to implement policies that start us toward a decriminalization and keeps people from going to prison and destroying their lives, and that’s what we’ve done over the last decade. So I think there’s some innovation that goes on in the states that can translate not just to Oklahoma or California or New York, but to Switzerland, to France, to other countries that have this drug issue facing them, that there are some alternatives without going that big full step and decriminalizing and sending a message to people that it’s OK."

Well get on with it then,

Well get on with it then, Perry. He's got about ten months left to do something positive for Texas.
