The Ark door is closed, the freedom fighters are in and it is checkmate, I may be overlooking the reason for this, but it seems

like brilliance. You can only hold the floodgates open so long to let the true seekers in before it becomes polluted. If this means we are it, it also means we are it, which means we have to step up our game on here and take this site more seriously. We are it, we are all the Dailypaul now, and we have a job to do. It's checkmate, we have had 7 years to spread the word, the one's who will listen are most likely here, more will come who will be willing to listen, but that's just it, they will have to listen, and it's not about ending freedom of speech, it's time for them to listen to us. I am not trying to put words into Nystrom's mouth and assume his intentions, but this is why I feel he did this in my heart. Don't just appreciate that you made it in the ark, use it wisely, Dailypaul is a large voice for a small person, use it wisely. He closed the tool box and we have the tools in that box, let's use these tools wisely and promote truth and freedom to all who visit here. It's just us now on here, respect that and honor that privilege, damn I had to look the spelling of that one up. It's us, here and now, let's rock the house for Dailypaul. I need to donate too, I slacked on that part I must admit, but I put my money all over the map in campaigns and life things, but I really got to start donating to his site more, I have slacked on that part. But with limited edition Dailypaul we are all gonna have to throw in a few bucks to keep it alive from now on. Freedom will cost you money and time, for some it has cost their lifeblood. Let's make this site thee site to come to for truth and love and hope my friends.

I am relieved that MN has

I am relieved that MN has decided to do this.

Lately I have felt a need for meaningful experiences. I have spent the last 5 years going through many different phases after waking up. The first phase was hunger. I wanted to learn more. I spent so many waking hours surfing the internet reading articles, blogs, watching youtube, an so on. Then I felt the need to show people. The problem was that nobody would listen. They didn't care. They all thought I was paranoid. So then sorrow and helplessness was upon me. Then elections came and I was energized. Then...of course anger. Then I wanted to take it all back...I didn't want to know anymore. But I quickly learned that you can't unlearn what you already know. Going back is not an option. Now I am making the decision to just live. I'm going to learn new things and experience life. Life is short. And I'm going to learn to love like I've never loved before. Because love conquers all.

Hopefully, this means the people who whine about Alex Jones

for no apparent reason will be history. And those with links to his always-relevant guest interviews will keep on posting.

Good news.

One thing is for sure after

One thing is for sure after the door closed there is a lack of Alex Jones all over this site. I often wasn't sure if I clicked the wrong link when I would look at the first page. I am glad the Daily Paul is back to the Daily Paul content.

Thanks for the non sequitir!

I pledge to post more stories broken by Alex Jones and Drudge, in honor of the occasion.

Thanks again!

And I will pass over them.

And I will pass over them. When I want to read Infowars I will go to that site.

You've got issues, and would only poison the threads because you're worried about who it links to. . . . . Good luck!

So, if you guys want to make this a daily event

One or both of you will be gone.

Live and let live. That is the whole point.

Otherwise, I'm throwing you to the sharks!

And if you get thrown overboard, you're NOT coming back. The point is:

Surprised at your response to

Surprised at your response to me.

Don't know what to do about it. I like to see information spread. How is this "antisocial?" And if people complain about it, it seems counterproductive and calls for comment from the rest of us, in my humble opinion. But, as I've said before, it's your site.

Like I said above, live and let live

Do you thing. Post whatever you like if you think it is useful, but shove it in other people's faces just to antagonize them.

Anyway, don't take it personally. I'm not saying you're at fault here, either. My comment wasn't addressed only to you.

Honestly, I'm reacting to something that has happened in the past here. It just arises, as a pattern, where two people just go at it with each other constantly. They chase each other around the site, downvoting posts, getting into personal arguments, making it unpleasant for everyone.

I'm not saying that is going to happen. I'm trying to enforce a new mindset here.

Well . . .

There's comfort in that your post wasn't addressed ONLY to me.

But frankly, I don't think my comment was even remotely comparable to the one I responded to. I'm not "shoving" anything in anyone's face to antagonize them. If someone doesn't like a thread topic, there's a very clever way to avoid it -- simply don't click on it.

But you know as well as I that there are people who like to derail threads, not by engaging in a constructive dialog or by honestly refuting a particular assertion, but by simply engaging in ad hominem attacks on either the original source of the information or the other posters themselves. And I admit, I strongly object to that disruptive tactic. You don't like a post, or a thread, or an argument or an assertion, simply because it originated with Alex Jones, Drudge, Lew Rockwell, Fox News, Max Keiser, or whoever your Boogie Man is? Fine, then leave us to discuss it honestly, and you (and I mean the rhetorical you, not actually "you") can choose to not participate. It's a free country, and anyone can choose to remain ignorant if they really want to. But why encourage this kind of interruption and non-stop badgering of those who simply like to be aware of, and make others aware of, things that they might not otherwise have seen? I've been on this MB a long time, and I'm grateful for learning serendipitously some of the things I might not have otherwise been open to or even known about. And seriously, if anyone wants to endlessly and without purpose complain about other people's threads, it's more than pointless. It has a chilling effect on the free flow of information here, and is thus fair game for criticism. And it is they, not us, who should be chastised or even banned, if that's what you prefer.

Anyway, Peace to you as well. Thanks for all that you do for liberty.

What exactly

do you mean by "door is closed"? Can people not sign up for dailypaul accounts anymore? Easy on Alex Jones. He's extreme, but shares our ideals on most situations. He's a lot better than the popular extremist views expressed by society today.

Nevermind. I read further.

does this mean that the site no longer accepts new members with post/vote/comment privileges?

Unlearning and self-teaching since 2008. Thanks, Dr. Paul!

Yes, that is correct

The Ark Door is Closed

The only ones signing up these days seem to be spammers, bots, trolls and linkjackers.

They're here to hawk fake rolexes and viagra, to collect information, to start fights, or to try to take advantage of the traffic by posting links to their blogs.

Weeding though them all puts an inordinate burden on my time, for no real benefit.

I would rather see if the current group that we've got can actually see each other, and treat each other like human beings. For the most part, the internet seems to have devolved into a wasteland. I'd like to go deeper.

I don't know if it will work or not. Maybe it just is the case that people on the internet, safely ensconced behind anonymous screen names, want to scream at and abuse each other. Who knows?

Where's the law that says that every website has to accept free users? Glad that there is no law!

But if people can't behave themselves on the Ark, I'll waste no time in throwing them overboard.

In order for me to raise the bar, I also have to raise the cost of anti-social behavior.

I hope this answers your question.

The internet has always been

The internet has always been the wild. Its up to people to carve out a chunk they can do something with.
Eventually, if you open registration back up, you may find that mostly only the people who want to be here will be around to sign up; many others will have moved on to troll elsewhere.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

I do not know what to think

I do not know what to think about the closing of the door and I don't want to really think about it too much, so I won't.
I have always thought the Daily Paul to be pretty civil. Sometimes people get a little crazy but I have seen crazy human behavior when people are discussing religion and politics in person too.
I think the Daily Paul was as much the essence of the Ron Paul Revolution as Ron Paul. The timing was ready and both were on the scene.

As someone who makes a living as a business analyst, I see a great deal of possible benefits to this very bold move (in addition to relieving the administrative burden). I wish there were a way to keep new awakened minds coming here and contributing, but if ever there were a ship of fools amongst whom I'd happily go down, this would probably be it.

Onward to the next adventure, dear friends in liberty!

Unlearning and self-teaching since 2008. Thanks, Dr. Paul!

Thank you!

For all the hard work put into this value. I for one am thankful to have this place to come.

Great Post

I also think it was a good move. I second the donation part. If everyone "in the ark" gave what ever they could. Call it a cover charge paid at the door of the Ark. Give whatever you can as a thank you for being part of this elite group. Everyone giving something would make a difference. An "Ark Money Bomb"!
