Excellent, these guys are excellent role models.

Puppet regime

Ukrainian regime is instituting a dictatorship, and is merely a puppet of Putin. The people would MUCH rather be in the EU than with Russia, that should be obvious to anyone. The police forces have shot and tortured protesters. People want to be free of Russia's influence, as Putin has already attacked them before in various ways, such as turning off their gas during winter, which is the way people heat their homes. It would be likely that Putin would send in tanks to "protect ethnic Russians" in a way similar to what he did in Georgia, but due to the olympics, this could be a tough choice for him. Likely, his hand will be pressed as things are escalating. The regime is probably biding their time, as waiting is optimal for Putin.

Don't believe the nonsense about the EU wanting to take Ukraine in. The EU has very little to gain from Ukraine, as it would have to subsidise it heavily for a long time. The only reason to take Ukraine in is to save them from Putin's clutches and shield it from his manipulations. Truly a worthy cause, and one Putin will fight tooth and nail, as he has up till now by installing the puppet regime in the first place, jailing Tymoshenko and poisoning Yushchenko.

A few articles with observations and opinions

Hi Rob, thanks for the pics and video! Wow! Doesn't look too much of a 'peaceful protests' to me. I don't think McCain would be calling them such if it were citizens in the US protesting in DC like that! I made a post you may have missed with some opinions and insights here: http://www.dailypaul.com/310873/ukrainian-protesters-encircl...

Here is another viewpoint/ observations to consider by former U.S. Rep.Dennis Kucinich. Well worth a read in full.

What a riot

They are pretty hard core over there. Recently, their government outlawed ALL public wearing of helmets:

Heavy jail sentences were imposed for participation in "mass disorder" and the wearing of face-masks or protective helmets. Dissemination of "extremist" or libellous information about the country's leaders was outlawed.

In a gesture of scorn for the helmet ban, many protesters on Sunday wore saucepans and colanders on their heads.

Funny how in our "safety obsessed" culture in the US, I've never seen a political protester wear a helmet, even a motorcycle helmet. Masks, but no helmets.

These protestors

are rioting TO JOIN the EU. Methinks that there are a lot of western influences instigating the violence.

"If this mischievous financial policy [greenbacks], which has its origin in North America, should become endurated down to a fixture, then that government will furnish its own money without cost. It will pay off its debts and be without debts. It will hav

I think so too...

I haven't done too much research on the alleged reasons for their protests, but I would also speculate this is the case.

how to start a protest in the Ukraine

1) Light something on fire

2) Everyone shows up to keep warm

3) Tell them the government wants to take the fire away
