In lieu of all the religious posts, I would like both Christians and Atheists to watch this video and either refute

with historical facts, or embrace it with historical facts. All are welcome to discuss this obviously, I just can't find a reason to refute it, it seems completely logical and backed by evidence.....

their end of world prediction was 1844

that was the only time they predicted the end of the world, in actuality 1844 is when the Final Judgement started, when Jesus entered the Holy of Holies in Heaven. There is a good video this also, check it out....http://amazingdiscoveries.tv/media/145/232-1844-and-the-final-onslaught/

More of the fruits of fiction

I don't have an hour and twenty minutes to watch a biblical lecture further trying to explain a mythological text based on oral traditions that weren't written down for two thousand years. The pagans have a more credible story to tell. At least their religious concepts are based on observable real happenings in nature.

When the Judeo/Christian religious mystics can bring this amorphous, undefinable, invisible cloud being called "god" down to earth and introduce it to me then I 'll accept its existence. Until then, go peddle your mumbo jumbo to the ignorant savages.

Why supposedly thinking people are willing to sacrifice their reasonable thought processes for a false promise of living forever after dying is beyond the pale. Just think of that statement -- "living forever after dying." It is an oxymoron, contradictory and impossible.

You can't live after you're dead. When the neurons stop firing in the brain, whatever gave that person an identity no longer exists. Its personality/soul/spirit is dead, gone, infinito, and the body begins to rot and then to stink really bad. It is impossible to transfer a personality from flesh and blood into a cloud for it to "live" forever.

As for the resurrection of the dead, gimme a break!! It is impossible to return to life after the neurons stop firing and the body has been dead for twenty minutes or longer, let alone three days. I learned that in science class in the third grade.

The person Jesus Christ, if he ever existed, has been dead for 2000 years and he hasn't been back since because he's dead, gone, rotted to nothing in the ground. There's nothing left. I learned that in science class also.

There are zero observable real world events or traceable evidence to even suggest any entity created a universe that contains 700 thousand million galaxies each containing thousands of millions of stars, controls the weather on all of them, controls all of the planet's orbits and observes every fallen sparrow on each tree on every planet. Believing that is totally absurd and ludicrous. It is more likely that there is an Easter Bunny or Santa Claus than an invisible cloud being.

Besides that where did the entity come from? Somewhere in the universe?

Give me a break!!

the second death is of the soul for not choosing to seek Him. You are open to listening to liberty or else you would not be on this site, I bet you have not always known what you have learned on here, you learned it by having an open mind. By the way the man who made these videos was a college professor who I believe taught science, he is pretty precise and elaborate on his findings and used to teach evolution. If that helps you at all.

actually you missed the point of my whole post

there are a lot of very knowledgeable people on here, and I thought it would make some interesting discussion, I am not trying to push religion on anyone, it would be interesting with how you feel especially, to see what you think of the video. Any good movie is an hour and a half long, you are refuting it without even watching it so for you I guess it is dead in the water.

Religion is just to control people.

The end of the world will come for you in about 70 to 100 years. That's a fact. The bible is the bible. It's a good history book, with great allegories, and wonderful teachings from the first revolutionary: Ye'shua. Ye'shua said religion was crap, money changers need to be whipped, women are not property, there will always be rich and poor, so love one another, and don't get caught up in nonsense, because it will make your life suck. He made the religious people look stupid, the romans brutal, and then he was crucified by the Romans, and his friends said they saw him a couple times after that, and then he went up "into the clouds". I'm not sure if this is true or not. I wasn't there. But the first and second laws of thermodynamics have some interesting things to say about it...

Conclusion, let's love one another, kick the shit out of the money changers, get rid of stupid man made religion, don't hurt another or their property, treat women with respect, and study physics. ;)

Thanks OP we needed more of these posts.

Crazy thought though, instead of debating how came in existence, or who's spaghetti monster is the real spaghetti monster, can we instead unite under the idea of liberty?

I know, it is a bit radical.

No thanks

Not worth the time. It is a scam.

In essence, most "prophecy" was written many hundreds of years after already happening when the "Bible" was put together in the 5th & 6th Centuries. Very convenient.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

actually prophecy

in the Bible brings us all the way from Christ's birth, to His death, and quite literally until the end of time, you just have to study Revelation a little better to figure it out, he has videos on that also. God made the Bible in parables so only those that truly sought Him and spent time with Him would be given the Truth. The Bible specifically states that.

Very convenient

Do you not know the history of the Bible? You do know it was written in the 300's CE, right? And, that wasn't even the final version. It has been edited and changed many times since, not counting the different lingual translations.

And the Book of Revelation was written in pieces many hundreds of years later, some parts were not found and interpreted for over a thousand years later. It wasn't even part of the Cannon of the Catholic Church until the 20th Century. The most recent version was "re-translated" in the late 1800's by 2 Americans.

And - most importantly, if your god had the ability to write the Bible, why couldn't Jesus read or write? I mean, he could have solidified the Bible right there. If only he was educated....

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

of course I know the history of the Bible

the history of the Bible is not what is important, it is, yes is, God's word. If you take a moment, I would like to challenge you to this and spend 30 bucks on a Strong's Concordance, and start researching words in the Bible, I beg you to show me where the Bible does not confirm itself. Pick a word look it up in the Concordance and see where it takes you, it hasn't failed me yet and I am sure you nor I could even fathom on constructing something like a Concordance. The Bible states specifically it is to be read line, by line, precept upon precept, but you would only know that it says that if you sat down and read it. Precept by precept my friend, look that word up first if you decide to buy a Strong's Concordance. I prefer the King James Version of the Bible, because like you stated it has been changed since then. Your mind is either open or closed, it's your choice, I went beyond liberty with what I have learned from all the great minds on this site. This site lead me to the Bible, praise God. God is liberty my friend.

No thanks

If it is "God's word", then there shouldn't be a need for a "concordance". Nor would it have been changed, books left out, or translation issues. The KJV is the tenth version, by the way.

I notice you didn't address the fact that Jesus didn't write anything. Or, that the earliest Gospel was written, at the earliest, 40 years after the supposed crucifixion. Researching words accomplishes nothing.

Trust me, I have read the Bible. I know it better than the average Christian.

That's what the lunatic Christians and Jews are doing in Israel. Waiting for the Messiah to come... Building Solomons temple... It's pathetic.

huh?

reference?

The reference is the subject of the article

It is called the Bible.

does it say anywhere in the Bible

they will build another temple, or could it possibly be a metaphor for a system based on what the original temple was built upon?

Really?

Surely you have some examples then yes? Please share.

How is that difficult to understand?

Pretty easy. Constantine had the Bible assembled/written/codified in 325. Amazing how 300 years later, the Old Testament "prophesies" predicted the birth and death of Jesus. As convenient as Joseph Smith "losing" the golden plates he wrote the Book of Mormon from.

It really is quite simple. It matters not which prophecy you pull out.

Have you read a Bible alongside a Concordance

if not, your answers are based solely on your beliefs, not evidence. How can you deny something you have not even studied thoroughly?

So.....

You are denying that the Council on Nicea happened?

Ok then, please enlighten us about which Bible scholars for over a thousand years have acknowledged. And, please provide the original script to prove it.
