Do you enjoy pork? Then don't worry about collapse, you'll love being a cannibal!

According to an interesting tidbit in a book I have read, and internet searches, human flesh tastes like pork. There is no definitive answer, and I am assuming at least half of you guys are not already cannibals.

So I have some questions for the DP Brain Trust.

Is pork considered unclean by jews and muslims because back in the day it was so prone to carrying disease, or was it common knowledge that pork was similar to human flesh?

Also for the biblical scholars out there, I am aware that one of Jesus's miracles was to make a herd of pigs run themselves out into the ocean and drown themselves. Not a pro-pig tone. So why is it that Christians eat pork, when the Muslims, and Jews do not?

Does this post make you question my sanity? Does my post make you wonder why you hang out on the net at a place where a guy like me hangs out? Ha ha ha.

After the Flood, maybe there

After the Flood, maybe there were not so many plants. Anyway, one day some Jewish man asked God if it was ok to eat meat. God said it was ok, as long as they did it in a certain way. (To me, this was to fit into the ecological scheme of things.) Then He gave several pages of dietary laws, one of which was that the animal could not have a split hoof, and should chew the cud. We were also told not to eat eagles, and to eat grubs. It is an interesting read, and I think is in Genesis, although I forget. The Christians, of course, were not given these laws, being they did not exist at the time.

They are filthy.

But it doesn't matter to me. I have true Faith in my Father so I don't have to know all His reasons and I don't rebel just to please my stomach. Swine is unclean according to Scripture (His Word), Yahshua never ate it and the apostles never ate it nor was it deemed clean.

His Word and Yahshua's example are fine by me.

Book of Acts, Ch. 10, vv. 9-16, KJV

9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

The way it was explained to me is that, in the New Testament, the Blood of Christ cleansed the world, and a new Covenant was formed.

Well it was explained to you wrong.

Isa 66:17 "They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD."

New Testament mistakes don't trump Old Testament Scripture. The verses you quote do not do away with clean and unclean foods they do away with Jewish "tradition" of exclusion of gentiles. Scripture has always allowed the foreigner to take part in the Covenant but as usual Peter and others were more interested in tradition.

Exo_12:49 One law shall be to him that is home born, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

GOD never declared swine clean but he did declare gentiles acceptable even back then and that is what He was talking about.

Act 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Act 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Act 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

At no time did Peter or any of the other disciples run out and eat pork. Eating pork is just another doctrine of the anti Christ.

explained wrong how?

The bible verses are right there to read,Peter was told to eat,he did not at first..God told him not to call the things he created unclean,AND TO EAT
Paul when asked about eating UNCLEAN things explained,he would pray over his meal,But also said,he would refrain,if it would make another sin
Do you eat anything from cattle?,steaks, hamburgers? ect ect

If we deny truth before your very eyes, then the rest of what we have to say,is of little consequence

I suppose it depends on what you believe.

I'm not going to stop eating bacon any time soon.
At any rate, I don't observe any of the Abrahamic religions that have constantly invaded Europe; and having always held the opinion that the Christians simply took a BAD religion and made it WORSE, I concede that maybe you are correct.

It does make me question why you took all the time to research

the taste of human flesh so extensively and then once you landed on the "tastes like pork" scenario, stopped researching the reasons why religions did/did not eat pork. Instead, you came here to report your conclusive findings and then decided it was for the Daily Paul community to give you the correct responses as to why. What happened to Googling that also? Just saying...that was more odd than the original subject matter was to me.

This also brings me to come to another conclusion...that "Pork Barrel Spending" must be a term which is used as code by Congress to figure out a way to harvest American human's flesh by eating us out of house and home!

Here is one possibility:

"The metaphor stems from the practice in the pre-refrigeration era of preserving pork in large wooden barrels of brine. The political usage may have been inspired by the distribution of rations of salt pork to slaves on plantations. "Oftenitmes the eagerness of the slaves would result in a rush upon the pork barrel, "wrote a 'journalist' named C.C. Maxey in 1919, "in which each would strive to grab as much as possible for himself. Member of Congress in the stampede to get their local appropriation items into the omnibus river and harbor bills behaved so much like negro slaves rushing the pork barrel, that these bills were facetiously styled 'pork-barrel' bills."

It's because pigs eat ***t. Literally.

They will eat anything. Not sure, but I think it's true of all the "cloven hoof" animals.

Horses, cows, etc. will not eat ***t, eat their own, eat people, etc.

Yes, hogs will eat people. It's actually an efficient way to eliminate all traces.

In other words, the cloven hoof animals are "unclean".

Same reasoning for shell fish. They are bottom eaters and literally will eat ***t of fish.

But the fish "breathe" pee and sh...t water then too don't they?

And it could very well be there own for that matter...how unclean is that for God's sake? LOL

" So why is it that Christians eat pork, when the Muslims, and Jews do not?"

Because they do not correctly read the Bible! Search for "To eat or not to eat" on Youtube, Christians should not eat pork.

Rom 14:13 Let us not

Rom 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
Rom 14:14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is NOTHING unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
Rom 14:15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

In other words, there is no such thing as unclean. But I am not to force you to eat it if you believe it to be unclean.

Would you perform oral sex on

Would you perform oral sex on a chick with a yeast infection or STD? Nothing is unclean to eat, right?

That is mistaken

understanding. If clean and unclean which have been separated from the beginning are now done away with then why does Paul and John still mention unclean well after those words were written?

2Co_6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

Rev_18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

If you go to the beginning of the chapter you mention then you will see that Paul is talking of vegetarians and their opposition to eating any meat.

Actually, cooked human meat

tastes like a mixture of veal and pork, and like pork, can be used well in cooking turnip greens or collards, but this meat needs to be from body parts that have a good amount of fat. More muscular human meat is much healthier to eat, I think, but tends to be tougher and stringier, unless presoaked in vinegar overnight before cooking. The fact that so many people are fat nowadays, means less quality edible meat, but a great resource for lard, which, when not overused, is not as unhealthy as we are being told. And, really, there is not as much waste of meat as one might think. The one drawback in humans, as opposed to hogs, is that the human intestine does not make good quality chitlins(chitterlings). I guess its just kinda give-and-take, but when you are hungry, hey, meat is meat. Hope this helps to clarify things.

Yea this post seems a little weird but to answer your question. Pigs are commonly infected with trichinosis and it can be spread to humans if the meat is not properly cooked. It was probably good advice to avoid pork back in the days before modern ovens etc.
The rule about eating pork was a law of Moses from the old testament and those laws were only for jews. I think that is why christians beleive those laws do not apply to them.
