Thousands Brave Freezing Temps to ‘March for Life’ in Washington D.C. that the media almost completely ignored.

January 23, 2014
You may not have heard about it – the broadcast networks gave it only 46 seconds of news time – but hundreds of thousands of anti-abortion protestors from all walks of life gathered on the national mall Wednesday to march to the Supreme Court

At the 41st annual March for Life, hundreds of youth groups, families, churches and religious leaders were there, as expected. But also college groups, women’s health organizations, Latino groups, and even pro-life gay alliances were in attendance, along with a number of U.S. Senators and Representatives, to mark the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

When Students for Life recieved their 'I Am the Pro-Life....

Generation' signs, they did not expect violence would be threatened. But it was.

Here is an excerpt from an e-mail I received from Students for Life:

After passing out our signs our team learned that a
radical pro-abortion group calling pregnancy "enslavement" and
publicly advocating for violence against pro-life sidewalk
counselors was protesting the Walk.

So, we decided to take action -- to stand up for our
beliefs and make sure the liberal San Francisco media couldn't
just get pictures of them protesting, leaving 70,000 pro-lifers
out of their story.

After a quick prayer, me and 25 of our new student
leaders from Oregon, New Mexico, and California walked into their
protest and peacefully held our 25-foot We are the Pro-Life
Generation sign. While our sign was represented in all of the
media shots, what I didn't expect was the level of hatred these
protesters have for us. It was like nothing I've ever seen
before. In midst of the curse words, one girl immediately tried
to jump on top of me and a man tried to hit me. Thankfully, I had
spoken to the police before we arrived to guarantee our students'
safety. Because once we arrived, police officers had to form a
human shield around us as we stood to represent the preborn and
their mothers. (I don't think even they were expecting what

In the mist of their insults and shouting at us, what
brought me to tears was the sign held by the girl who tried to
jump on top of me -- a homemade sign that said "Fetus Slayer."
You see, this is common for us as those who are often the most
hateful are those still hurting from their abortion and is why
everything we do is peaceful and in love.

Soon after we arrived at the protest, the Walk for Life
began and our team joined the pro-life crowd with a chorus of
cheers that rang throughout the city blocks. Our students were
relieved to be back in home territory.

This serves to confirm my suspicions that if anyone should be charged under RICO it is the radicals from the pro pre-born-death movement.

Since this website is called the daily PAUL in honor of...

Dr. Ron Paul. I would like to ask the pro fetus killing crowd how many abortions they think the good Dr. has performed, and how many babies he has delivered?

Sure Dr. Paul publicly says abortion is a states right issue, but lets be grown ups, is Dr. Paul pro-choice or pro-life?

Is anybody con anything?

I love Dr. Paul but I can disagree with him

I don't think abortion is a state's rights issue. Doctors are providing a service that people are willingly paying for. That shouldn't be illegal. If you don't like what they're buying, don't get one. But you cant tell them they're breaking the law when a doctor is providing a service to a patient and they're both doing so willingly.

I don't think abortion is a

I don't think abortion is a states rights issue either, it is a human rights issue. Yes, you are obviously free to disagree with Ron Paul.

A hitman will also provide a service that people are willing to pay for. So does Monsanto with the biological engineering of the food supply, as well as Blackwater with their guns for hire.

People like myself that view a fetus as a person, see an abortion doctor as infringing on that person's very right to live. Same as mercenaries are hired to infringe upon people's rights, and Monsanto tinkering with the food supply is an infringement on others.

Could I have my 6 month old newborn baby put down because I found being a parent inconvenient? Why not, the baby is a parasite that can't survive on his own? A 6 month old is not viable without assistance.

Imagine if your wife is 8

Imagine if your wife is 8 months pregnant and you are both excited for that child to arrive. Now imagine your wife is mugged when you are not around, and the mugger punches your wife in the stomach and causes a miscarriage.

If you are Pro-Abortion. The mugger can be charged with robbery, and assaulting the mother, but can not be charged with murder. In your view, that fetus is not a person, therefore a murder cannot take place. Perhaps you could charge them with destruction of private property, but not murder since you have determined mentally that a fetus holds no value as a person.

Want to allow abortion, and also charge that mugger with murder? That is hypocritical, you can't have it both ways. A fetus is either a person or it isn't. If it is up to you, then why isn't it up to you to decide to put inferior Jews in ovens, or blacks on plantations? It is also illogical to draw magic timelines as to value. Such as 97 days not a life 98 days yes its a life.

So I didnt hear anything about this rally until now. Clearly media will ignore rallies such as this and MANY more to come. my question is what is the point?

granted a large volume of citizens supporting life shouldnt be over looked, but little to no political changes occur I showed this to a friend of mine and her jaw dropped saying "Amurika is full of crazy fascists."

It seems as tho if we are going to expect political reform then the only way that is going to happen is on ink and paper. So I ask, what is the point of rallies or sign waving when its results are stagnate?

His name is Edward Snowden

What is Capitalism?

America is full of fascists,

America is full of fascists, but it is not the people marching. Last time I checked, the Nazis were pro getting rid of undesirables. Abortion is about killing the undesirable.

While listening to ' This Little Child' last night I thought:

this Scott Wesley Brown had a big clue even back then. He was into the whole Eastern religion thing for a while in the 70's, as well as the anti-war movement: "I remember being pushed around in massive crowds of angry people who carried the banner of love and peace."
Ironically, he could see the inconsistency even then; isn't the murdering of innocents in the womb similar to unjust wars?

So fast forward 15 years, Scott is now a Christian because of the sincere concern of an old friend. Watching the Reagan/Carter debates. "In listening to their proposed solutions, legislations, and committees to deal with the human dilemma, I just shook my head, reasoning that none of those would ultimately work. Then I sat down, out of frustration with the government, to write a song about hope - real hope in the Lord."

The 55 MILLION who have been murdered are commemorated at Personal Liberty Digest :

The majority trying to impose its tyranny on the minority

The anti-abortion crowd is just as bad as the anti-gun crowd. If you don't like them, don't get one! Quit trying to impose your will on others!!! The anti-gun crowd and the anti-abortion crowd both seem to think they're holier than thou. You just hate kids if you're not for gun control or against abortion. Give me a break.

As a libertarian a person

As a libertarian a person views their rights ending where another person's rights begin. Scientifically speaking a fetus is human, and it is alive, hence a human life. Do you have the right to take human life through aggression?

A fetus is not a trespassing parasite, it is in the woman as a consequence of choices of the parents, not its own. You can't invite me to dinner at your house and shoot me for trespassing.

Doctors and women should be thrown in prison because they have different opinions about when life begins? Yeah, that's real libertarian of you.

When a fetus is a single

When a fetus is a single cell, it has "life" by definition, you are just arguing as to when that life has value.

Unless you are a full on anarchist, government is there to provide for the protection of an individuals rights (In theory). If a woman and a doctor take the life of another, then yes they do deserve some form of punishment.

I have never been a fan of the current prison system myself, I support a banishment island, patrolled by gunships.

Well you nailed it

The majority (abortion supporters) imposing its tyranny on the minority (innocent, voiceless babies).

"Once you become knowledgeable, you have an obligation to do something about it."- Ron Paul

The reason the pro-abortion

The reason the pro-abortion crowd can justify abortion is they like to play God with determining the value of human life.

They think a fetus is a life when someone wants it and a parasite when someone doesn't want it. There is no consistency to their argument, they reserve the right to assign value as they please. They would make good plantation owners, or concentration camp guards. Their ethics are VERY flexible.

Classic anti-abortion comment. You're not anti-abortion, so you must hate babies!!!!!

To my fellow DPers who can't count

Here are some great crowd shots of the estimated 500K that attended the March in 2013. Guess what? This year was even bigger!

Hey, BaneMaler, What are you one of those paid sheels

Who sent you to bump this thread? Who's paying you, sheel?

Oh. It's my thread,

Here is from this year

This video is stationary from the start of the march. It is a half hour long and the marchers still are as far as the eye can see at the end.

“We were in the middle of

“We were in the middle of Connecticut when our bus driver pulled over to a rest stop and told [us] that we couldn’t drive any further because of the storm,” Molly Burgess, a student traveling with the group said.

“I believe it was the bus company that told us we couldn’t continue … but the man who was running our group wasn’t going to give up without a fight and neither were the teenagers on the bus,” Burgess said. “All of us teenagers were praying the rosary in the back of the bus in hope of continuing our journey. And Our Lady answered our prayers and now here we are!”

Too bad these hypocrites

Too bad these hypocrites weren't out marching against the murder of innocent people in the middle east and elsewhere.

we can do both; we DO do both--

Many of *us* who are pro-life are also reminding others of the lost of innocent lives in the middle east and elsewhere--

we cover it all--

sure; there are hypocrites (everywhere), but don't be too hasty--

I did go to the anti-war and

I did go to the anti-war and to the anti-Monsanto march as well.

Why so belligerent?

Peace begins with oneself. From oneself it spreads to the family. From the Family, it spreads to the neighborhood. From the neighborhood to the wider community. From the wider community to the city. From the city to the state.

If we can't stop the brutal killing of innocents in our own family how do you expect the brutal killing of innocents in foreign countries to stop?

Your negativity towards these people does nothing to stop negativity spreading all over the world but only adds to it. What have you accomplished by denouncing these people? And who are you to decide which issues people must rally behind? Are you really that authoritarian?

Fix yourself. Be good and do good and you will see good.

If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.

Sorry, but so what?

I do not support abortion. But, if this is an annual event - that means it happens every year - then it isn't really "news". What are they going to say?: "Look everyone, the same people that marched last year marched this year in DC with the same banners"

And - it shouldn't be a federal issue anyway.

We got zero coverage of the Ron Paul March in 2008, with more people, and we were displaying support for important issues. Sorry again, but I think issues that affect the bulk of the population are more important than the abortion issue which effects less than 2% of the population. That's why I find voters on both sides that are single-issue voters to be equally disgusting.

Fake victimization is one of my pet peeves.
