What are your thoughts feelings about anti-trust laws?

A friend posted this on my facebook wall wanting me to comment on what libertarians would do about stuff like this.

On the surface of it, these companies clearly and knowingly broke the law.

Moreover, on the moral side, these companies were all CLAIMING to not do that...that is the huge violation I see from them. If they pretend to be meritocratic, if they tell their employees that they aren't in cahoots with other companies to prevent this competition, then they have committed fraud. No issue with the government coming down on them with the hammer of justice.

Government intervention wrecks markets

Such laws protect government interests, creates bad investments and drive prices up for customers.

Government legislates cartels and protect them from competition. The Interstate Commerce Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the Federal Open Market Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Election Commission to name a few cartels government protects with anti-trust laws.

Anti-trust laws helps government, destroys free trade and commerce, benefits cronies and hurts everyone else.

Free includes debt-free!

Funny how some who would support individuals collectively

bargaining to better their positions would decry companies doing the same.
