Do not Trust History -- It is a Tool of Deception

There are thousand proofs that most of our historical knowledge is based on myths or fantasy. The Bible is just an example of such a historical document. Significant efforts were made in XV-XVI centuries to create an "acceptable" version of history -- that version, though it wasn't ever independently confirmed, presently is commonly believed to be true. This was the greatest fraud ever imposed on the human kind. We do not know much about our origins except some naive stories or historical fabrications. Please read more and educate yourself!

(I don't have the definitive answer, so that's why I'm asking, duh ;)

1) consider this :

C'mon, Cyril.

Why do you make me think about things like this? Damn your thought-provoking videos!

;)

Seriously, my wife and I talk about this subject all of the time over some Cannabis and the conversation never ends....

it funny how most Paul supporters dislike Public School but at the end of the day. Public Schooling won!. You idiots believe in Evolution.

Scared cave monkeys thought the same thing when they prayed to the Thunder god and the fireball in the sky god. Congratulations, you're following base level evolutionary programming filling in the unknown with stories to avoid fear and you don't even know it. Oh the irony.

Bad assumption.

Why do you assume that anyone who does not believe in evolution believes in God or religion?

That's a bad assumption and, hence, illogical.

Elaborate?

Elaborate?

There are those who do not believe evolution is proven fact..

...who either also do not believe in God, or who do, but their lack of belief in evolution as fact has nothing to do with God nor religion.

Ive never heard of a

Ive never heard of a non-thiest who had much of a problem with the theory of evolution. Can you point me toward an alternative theory that doesn't envolve magic?

While I wouldn't be shocked to learn that the popular notion has a flaw somewhere, I am looking for a better theory, not mysticism. These days im never suprised to learn that everything I thought I knew turned out to be a lie. I always had issues with a lot of the pie-in-the-sky wackamole theories being pushed by cosmology, however evolution theory seems pretty solid.

Seems is irrelevant.

I appreciate that you FEEL it is "solid".

Of course, that's irrelevant. Either it is scientific or it is not.

To be proven in science, the same results must be producible via repeatable tests.

I am not asserting evolution didn't happen. My issue with it is when people like you assert is as "scientific" or "fact" when it is not, when it can never be scientifically proven. When Charles Darwin said the same himself, i.e. that it is NOT science nor can be scientifically proven.

But that's beside the point. The assertion was made that only religionists do not believe evolution. The assertion was false and illogical and demonstrated as such, i.e. that there are people who are not religionists who challenge evolution and that there are religionists who challenge evolution, but not based on any religious belief.

Your putting words in my

Your putting words in my mouth in a big way. The theory seems sound to me yes, however as I said very clearly, I am "very" open to alternative ideas. Ive yet to hear any. You say that non-theists also disbelieve evolutionary theory, its not something ive heard of but im sure its possible. I would be very curious to see what they have to say, and I can't help but wonder if some of them could be found in the Electric Universe crowd. The more I learn of that, the more possible it seems that our universe is much younger than previously thought. It looks like a lot of our geological features here on earth are not the result of slow erosion over billions of years, but rather electrical scarring from charged bodies discharging between each other. Cosmic lightning bolts.

When you say evolution isn't proovable, its only because we cannot film over millions of years, however there is no lack of fossil records showing slow adaptation of species which show an alteration in apperance and specialization. We have hundreds of transitional fossil records now spanning across multiple species. We can and have actually witnesses transitional evolution in bacteria in the laboratory. Because of their short life-spans, its possible to set conditions that promote evolutionary changes over generations. Is there any reason to believe that if bacteria do this, higher life forms would not?

You wrote off the butterfly example but how come there is no record anywhere in the world of that butterfly species? Do you think that they did not categorize and collect butterfly specimens widley in the world 200 years ago? The odds are pretty reasonable that if that species of butterfly existed elsewhere, it would be pinned to a display there, esspecially if it was a common enough species that it found its way onto a tallship and survived a few months at sea. Also, why would a species of butterfly who lives on bannanas in a bannana rich country suddenly go extinct there, but yet manage to flourish in Hawaii?

There is tons of evidence displaying a very likley trend toward species evolution on earth. Its odd to me that people can look at mountains of solid data and say: no no no no, and yet believe 100% in fairy tales without 1 ounce of proof neccessary. How come evidence is totally unneeded when it comes to god, but suddenly becomes of paramount importance when discussing evolution to a religeous person?

Don't confuse "evidence" and "proof".

You cited empirical EVIDENCE in support of evolution. I do not dispute the evidence you presented.

However, evidence is NOT proof from a scientific perspective. And this is specifically what I am addressing.

You have no proof. You have PRECISELY the same amount of proof as any religionist creationist.

I'm sorry about that, but that's the case. Evolution is no more scientific than any other theory. That said, you *can* logically accurately assert that you have more documented EVIDENCE. You *can* logically accurately assert that the PROBABILITY that the unproven theory of evolution occurred is greater than the probability of another unproven theory having occured, based on that evidence. But you have no additional PROOF that it is.

It's very important to understand science and the scientific method if you are asserting that your beliefs are based on science. Otherwise, you just sound like any other religionist who BELIEVES things.

fair enough.

fair enough.

A few points for Evolution Theory

1) In the history of scientific research, living organisms have never formed from non-living matter. Evolutionists hold the unscientific belief that this is possible as the first phase of evolution, but they cannot explain, replicate, or prove it can happen.

2) Nothing has ever given birth to something more genetically complex than itself. This is just assumed by evolutionists to be possible. Never before has information been added to the genome of a species.

3) No single-celled organism has ever morphed into a multi-cell organism. Evolutionists firmly believe this can happen as the second phase of evolution, despite the fact that it has never been observed in the history of scientific research.

4) No creature has ever given birth to something that was a different kind of organism than itself. This is again just believed by evolutionists to be possible, although it has never happened in recorded history. Evolutionists believe that over time, lizards change into birds and fish turn into mammals. Yet, of all the billions of lizards on Earth, not a single one is in turning into a bird. Of all the billions of fish on Earth, not a single one is in the process of becoming a mammal.

5) Never in the history of science has any mutation benefitted an animal's species long term, or made it more genetically complex. Evolution would require billions of these mutations to be happening constantly both today and throughout history, and yet none have ever been observed. All mutations ever witnessed in reptiles, birds, or mammals are either a loss or a scrambling of existing genetic information, and are either neutral or negative to the mutated animal.

6) Transitional species required for the theory of evolution to be true are called “missing links,” instead of “links,” because they do not exist.

7) It is impossible for a cold blooded animal to give birth to a warm blooded animal; and yet this is believed by evolutionists in the fish to mammal and lizard to bird theories.

8) Plants have been around since the beginning of life, and despite all the supposed evolution that should've taken place, they have not evolved intelligence.

9) There are no instances of plants morphing into animals.

10) Eyes are far more complex than anything man can create, and yet they’ve been around since the first animals of an evolutionist timescale. In addition, fossils indicate that they’ve always been just as complex as they are today, which means that evolutionists face a fundamental problem. For instance, trilobites had extremely complex eyes, and were supposedly alive long before people according to evolutionist assumptions. Their eyes had two lens layers that allowed everything to be in focus without the need for refocusing, and yet had no spherical aberrations (distortion) because of the precise alignment of the lenses. Chuck Darwin, the founder of the religion of evolution, didn't even believe eyes could have evolved:

"To suppose that the eye... could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree." -Charles Darwin, in 'The Origin of Species,' 1859, p. 217

10) Virtually every species of animal has two genders required for reproduction. How this system could have randomly changed from cell division, when it started, and how it manages to be so consistent is inexplicable by evolutionists. I wonder how any species survived before it gained the instinct and ability to reproduce.

13) Nature is full of "irreducible complexities," or things that could not function if a single part is removed. Since evolution is a gradual and slow process, things like the human knee joint could not have evolved, because they would not function until they were fully formed. If one part/aspect were missing, they would serve no purpose. This is inexplicable by evolutionists.

14) No creature has ever evolved or "adapted" a new body-part to suit it's environment, despite evolutionist belief, and they do not have the capability to do so. Among the ridiculous claims of evolutionists, one would be the land mammal that evolved into a whale. I'd like to see the transition where the nostrils supposedly change into the blowhole and move to the top of the head, and learn how the hind legs could magically morph into a tail flipper, all while continuing to function for millions of years.

15) Spiders have been found perfectly preserved in amber that supposedly date back "hundreds of millions of years," according to evolutionist faith-based dating systems. These spiders spin webs, and are no different from today's modern spiders. If evolution were true, spiders should have changed significantly over millions and millions of years. To the contrary, spiders remain the same spiders throughout the fossil record. How would the first spider gain the ability to spin a web? By accident?

16) DNA has to already be present in order to create protein, and protein has to be present in order to create DNA. Both are required as building blocks of a living organism. Which formed first, randomly, from the primordial soup that may or may not have existed, and how is that possible?

By that logic who created the

The religious want to argue the universe is far too complex to have just sprung into existence and therefor there must be an intelligent creator. By that logic who created the infinitely complex creator? It's funny how they want to claim something can't come from nothing, but then immediately claim the opposite. Sorry, they don't get to have their cake and eat it too, classic circular logic fallacy.

The only logical answer is "I don't know." If there is an omnipotent god who gave me logic and reason and then plopped me on a planet with 10K religions at the time of my birth, that god would have to know the only conclusion I could come to is "I don't know" in terms of what waits for us beyond this life. Everything else is just lying to yourself out of simple fear of the unknown just as ancient man did when he didn't understand thunder and the big fireball in the sky.

To be fair, atheists who say they "know there is nothing" are also lying to themselves. They can't possibly know that either so atheism is just as much a religion as any other because it also relies of faith.

All I can try and do is live my life as nature shows me how, cooperating with my fellow man for the best possible outcome for all and not aggressing against those who pose no aggression towards me. If I'm going to be punished because I couldn't figure out which of the 10K religions to follow, well, that's not a just god anyway.

as a creationist

I must say this is the most ignorant post I have ever seen. Please be respectful.

Personally I am considering posting a thread about common theological mistakes atheist make, because I am getting tired of them posting about how God made the world in 7 days when the Bible says 6, and how the Christian God is european when Jesus was a jew. How that when Jesus died on the cross he fulfilled the law, so their is no more need for sacrifice, and that the old testament laws deal often with government where as Jesus almost always dealt with individuals. How that there many many more than 10,000 gods heck hinduism has millions of em. That buddism and shintoism are both religions without gods.

Simply put I find it annoying that they make blanket statements about my belief when they dont even understand page one of the Bible, or much of anything else when it comes to religion.

..

.

Is there a GOD?

I am not necessarily talking about Daddy God from the Bible that is the foundation of the Judeo Christian, who is shared by Jews, Christians and Muslims (yes.. Muslims).

I am not necessarily talking about Buddha or the 3,600,000 Gods of the Hindus, the Norse Gods, the Gods of Mt Olympia, the Native American Gods, Mother Earth or any other God specifically.

I mean - were we created by an intelligence, a force, stronger and more capable by an infinite amount than we are?

The answer has to be YES!

The structure of the universe is far too complex not to have been intelligently assembled by something. Complex things do not just happen. They are created.

You could argue that snowflakes are very complex, yet they seem to happen without being carefully and consciously constructed. But the physical characteristics of water. How the molecule and atoms work and how chrystals form around dust particles these things that construct a snowflake are clearly intelligently put together.

Anyone who denies the existence of God (broad definition) and thinks that they can rationalize him out of existence, is a fool.

don't let your lack of imagination lead you to God

"The structure of the universe is far too complex not to have been intelligently assembled by something. Complex things do not just happen. They are created."

Just because you can't fathom how complex things arise out of simple interactions does not mean that such things are unfathomable. This seems to me to be akin to saying that if we can't understand something, then God must have made it. If you study systems biology, you will see how complicated things can get with just a few interactions. Heck, even such relatively simple things as fractals, which can appear quite complicated, arise out of some very simple equations.

Scared little cave monkeys

Scared little cave monkeys have been inventing stories for tens of thousands of years for what they can't explain. The ironic part is that they do this because they evolved to as a defense mechanism. The human brain always fills in the blanks for what it cannot yet comprehend because admitting we just don't know is too scary a cross for most to bear.
