Rand Paul Rising!

Rand Paul Rising!

The Kentucky Republican struck out on his own in his response to the State of the Union. Here's why.

By Matt Berman January 29, 2014

The United States is having a libertarian moment. And Rand Paul is getting ready to capture it by himself.

The Kentucky Republican delivered his own response to President Obama's State of the Union on Tuesday night via YouTube. But the rebuttal wasn't so much about what Obama said Tuesday as much as it was an opening salvo for a possible 2016 presidential campaign, the bulk of it coming as a directed argument against big government.

"Government doesn't create jobs very well," Paul said. "Government is inherently bad at picking winners and losers ... if government is to send money to certain people to create businesses, they will more often than not pick the wrong people, and no jobs will be created." He pointed specifically to the old big government bogeyman, Solyndra.

Imagine for a moment

Imagine for a moment that Rand Paul gets the Republican Nomination and goes on to win the Presidential Election.

What's next??

What is it that he should first accomplish?

Should he use the same usurped powers employed currently and in the past in order to achieve his goals?

If he ends Federal Programs and Decentralizes others, who will pick up the responsibilities the Federal Government ceases?

Dumb questions

The free market will provide all answers, with no one having to mull over questions that can not, and should not, be answered by any one person or group.

Not so dumb

The point is that you cannot replace Central Planning with Decentralized Planning without having people in place to take responsibility of the Planning at the Local level.

The Free Market may provide the answers, but let's not pretend the Oligopolies who currently hold power are not going to be competition who have people in place to implement Centralized Plans at a more local level.

The answer cannot come from one person or group, it must come from say 3141 groups (number of counties, parishes, and boroughs in the country).

The path back to Liberty is more Bottom Up than Top Down, though both methods are necessary for the smoothest transition.

Good reply

Communities and localities deff need to come together for the transition

Watch out public - dangerous common sense coming to your tv

Rand is a very palatable figure, he does not come off as harsh or attacking, he sounds more concerned and caring. But he isn't really watering the message down, he is still sticking to principles and teaching principles, but in a subtle way.

Because of his soft demeanor and kind presentability, EVEN SEVERE LEFTIES might be in for a dose of lessons on simple and basic principles; aka common sense.

And saying "government does not create jobs" might be a hard thing for lefties to grasp. It will really challenge their conceptions.

Watch out lefties, you might learn something valuable.

"STANDwithRAND

I'm tellin ya, he's catching on...

Boom!

And He Didn't Even Have To Say

....SOLYNDRA!

That word was on my mind throughout his rebuttal.
Obama is running out of excuses....Rand is conducting himself in a main-stream kinda way that will eventually endear him to the voting public.

Good Strategy!
