What is this magical "PLAN" I haven't been told of yet?

0 votes

Many posts on here are trying to assure me that not winning Florida is part of some "PLAN". I am not sure what the official campaigns plan is, but it would be nice if someone could fill me in on it.

BTW, Does this "PLAN" involve the good doc finally pulling the trigger at a debate and calling Romney and McCain out on thier BS? Taking the high road is noble and all, but the division of elections only offers a couple of party affiliation options, and Gentleman isn't one of them.

The magical plan is called Precinct Leader!

Now everyone, go sign up and lets win this!!!

more like in primaries a

more like in primaries a hell of a lot more people vote because its easier. Most of these people are completely ignorant of the issues at hand and believe they have to vote "to make their vote count" so they vote for whatever face they see most often on the news without really knowing what they stand for.

When I started this campaign more than a year ago, I was a somewhat reluctant candidate. I knew our message of freedom, peace, and prosperity was the right one for our country, but frankly, I didn't know how many people today would have ears to hear it. Well, did I learn a lesson! Millions of Americans understand what ails our country, and what is needed to fix it. So, with you at my side, I am in this effort to win. Not only by building the ideas of liberty, but by getting the nomination. Our opponents would call that nuts -- you know, the advocates of more inflation, more spending, more taxes, more war. But let me explain why they are, as usual, all wet. For one thing, for the first time since 1952, we are headed towards a brokered convention. Instead of a coronation of one of the establishment candidates, the delegates, influenced by the people, will decide. And I am afraid that this will take place in a time of heightened economic crisis. That means even more Americans will be ready to hear our message. But it also means I am really going to need your help. One would never know this from the mainstream media, but we've only had a few primaries and caucuses, and even after the extremely important date of February 5th, we will still have more than half to go. And the Republican nominee will not be decided by the popular vote among the "leading candidates" in a few states also handpicked by the media. The nominee will be decided by the delegates. So let me tell you a little about our "under-the-radar" strategy to get those delegates. On "Super Tuesday," February 5th, there will be 22 primaries and caucuses. I have a hunch that we're going to do very well. But, of course, the media and the rest of the establishment refuse to recognize that. It's the attitude of the small child who covers his eyes to make something scary go away. But we are not going away. While the media focus on the couple of states they claim are important, we're competing everywhere. And the reason that we're able to do that is because of your grassroots support. You all are an asset that no other campaign has: donors, and activists who want no special deals from the government, just the Constitution. We're competing very strongly in all the caucus states, and in all other states where delegates are up for grabs. And we're going to keep picking up delegates. Our strategy's already working. And we're committed to winning states. I have little doubt that if we can double our efforts in this coming week, we're going to grab many delegates from other candidates. Then we'll start getting ready for the biggest moment of all - the convention in September. The path to the convention is twisty, however. When we were in Iowa, we got 10% of the vote. But no delegates were awarded that night. That's because voters didn't directly choose national convention delegates; they selected the county and state delegates who will make that decision. And if another candidate like Mike Huckabee is no longer in the race at the time of the state convention in June, his delegates are free to support whomever they want. If we work extra hard, we can convert them into delegates for our campaign! A similar thing happened in Nevada. We won 14% of the straw poll vote that the media reported on, but what they didn't tell you was that we may have gotten up to a third of Nevada's delegates to their county conventions! I always laughed when I heard some people say Nevada didn't matter. Nevada chooses more delegates to the national convention than South Carolina. So, while the media will focus on the results from Florida, and probably take down the campaign of my friend Rudy in the process, those results are less important to you and me. Let them fight in Florida while we bring our message to Americans in other areas, like the economically hard-hit state of Maine. We want to win as many delegates to the Republican National Convention as possible, even if other campaigns don't see some areas of the country as "important. But in this work, I need your help. Help me get many, many delegates to this historic convention, by these three methods. 1. Donate. Your generous contributions are essential if we're going to keep going until September. We need, frankly $5 million by February 5 to run more TV and radio ads in the Super Tuesday states. Your help means everything: https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate. 2. Canvass. You can help us identify those who support our message in your precinct. You can help us to convert others, too. After all, your neighbors pay attention to you. I am going to visit as much of the country as I can, but I need you as my partner in your area: https://voters.ronpaul2008.com. 3. ASK others to sign-up on our website. I meet so many people on the campaign trail who don't even receive my letters! I've told my campaign to make communication with you, the engine of all this, much better. But if people don't sign up for my e-mails, that won't happen. If you could just get one extra person to sign-up, that would be great. More would be tremendous. Help me by forwarding this e-mail to every other Ron Paul supporter you know, and urging them to join our efforts! https://www.ronpaul2008.com/join. We've come so far, but now the fun is really starting! I have a feeling the mainstream media will move from ignoring us to attacking us. But that will be a sign of our success. Join me as we continue this great movement into year two, and to a hot convention in Minneapolis-Saint Paul. We can do it! Sincerely, Ron

BTW Ron Paul correctly predicted the events of today

Wow thanks...is that on the website too do you know?

It seems primaries are

It seems primaries are easier to rig than caucuses.

Quick to dismiss........

We live in an instant gratification society. If you don't have the patience to stick with Dr. Paul, then you were never with us in the 1st place. You don't get elected 10 times by not knowing what you're doing. First there were 11, now there are four. I will write his name in if I have to, but at least I will be able to sleep at night. Go to bed now cry babies!

Absolutelht on...and funny too

It is the "Rope-a-dope" strategy used by Mohammed Ali

Only problem is that by the time the opponents punch themselves out, they will have most of the delegates.

I really don't know what the strategy is, but I suspect that the US Americans don't have enough maps, er, I mean enough intellect to do much more than vote for the candidates that our masters preselect for them. Particularly the Republicans are a fear driven bunch, and rally round the flag at the slightest suggestion of a possible foreign enemy. In the present case of mass fear, they cheer on the gang leader who promises to kick the most Islamic butt, which is anyone but Ron Paul.

I doubt that the present system of plunder and control will ever be ended at the election machine. I am fairly certain that economic conditions will conspire against our masters in the next decade or two so that the pain from doing something about our slavery will be less than accepting it as we do now; just my take on what will happen when the fractional reserve, debt based money system finally can no longer be sustained, and the additional effect of oil depletion causes the end of the industrial age.

A pox on all your houses

This thread seems to be pitting doom-and-gloomers versus rosey-glassed Polyannas. Both extremes are wrong. Did we need to win Florida--NO; and it was effectively unwinnable anyway; and with the rules even a second place showing had little more than public relations effect anyway. And, yes, the HQ campaign finally seems to be enunciating at least some sort of strategy besides balancing the campaign on the backs of brute force grassroots efforts.

But, yes, we DESPERATELY need to win a (some) state(s)---any state(s), or it won't matter diddly-squat if the convention is brokered or not, Dr. Paul won't be a player, much less a winner. And, without a win, grass roots morale (and $ contributions) will definitely shrivel---talk all you want about sunshine patriots, we can't afford to lose large numbers of discouraged foot soldiers---and say what you like about MSM, in 85% of the houses I've visited over the past several weeks, the talking heads on TV are the main source of information for voters, and without some WINS we won't get MSM coverage--good or bad. Just "staying in the race" isn't good enough. And, yes, to win a state, any state, the HQ campaign needs to focus much more intensely on a few winnable states rather than spreading their resources everywhere. Let the grassroots take care of whatever can be done elsewhere (we've been doing it all along anyway!).

So what should we do? Well, all the grassroots CAN do at this point is canvass, run ads, canvass, sign wave, canvass, run for delegates, Precinct Captain, canvass... and hope for the best. I've been out canvassing every day except the Sabbath for weeks. Met lots of nice and/or interesting people: maybe 5% definitely for Dr. Paul, 10-15% friendly towards him but not committed; 50-55% totally uncommitted/undecided or close-mouthed; 30% openly for other candidates. My state? Missouri--58 delegates, 5th largest Republican state delegation; winner sorta' take all (first ballot commitment only).
So both gloom-and-doomers and rosey lensers, let's just keep working as hard as we can. By mid-March (after Texas) the die will be cast; then maybe we can debate future direction of the Ron Paul campaign more profitably.

salt-of-the-earth

THEY WOULD HAVE NEVER ALLOWED RON PAUL TO WIN FL!

We know this! So, in SPITE of the majority of American citizens, over 70% I believe want to get OUT OF IRAQ but they vote for McCain who wants to stay in Iraq for the next 100 years???? There is something VERY STRANGE about that!
I live about 30 miles north of Clearwater and Tampa, FL and I've seen VERY FEW signs other than TONS of Ron Paul signs everywhere! There were almost a DOZEN at the polling center, a small church. The ONLY signs there at all, except for the property tax vote.
I know that Ron Paul Meetup groups throughout FL has more members than that, don't we? I didn't think that RP would win in FL, but as he said himself, the stategy is to visit the Super Tuesday states and pick up delegates while Romney and McCain are in FL!
He has a new Political director (?) and a new Media director and I think we are going to see a HUGE difference in the Feb. 5th caucuses and primaries!
God Bless Dr. Ron Paul, his Wonderful wife Carol, his 5 children, and all of his grandchildren! How Blessed you all are to have such a FABULOUS Man in your personal lives; THANK YOU ALL for sharing him with Our Country! The United States is in Critical Condition and the ONLY Doctor who can begin to make the absolutely necessary changes and CURE the United States of America! President Ron Paul, Live Free or Die!

We are staying in the race

We are not going to drop out or go away.

I hope Rudy is gone after Florida.

But we will not be gone. We are going to be here until the end.

People get excited about a candidate, but then they get to know the truth. Fred was once a front runner, so was Rudy. Huck is going down, but we are going up. More than 50,000 votes in Florida. People are starting to get the message of the revolution.

Dude...

... Florida is a winner take all delegate state. Do you not understand?

Giuliani spent $20 mill to get the old, ex-New York voters and it didn't work. $20 mill to us was entire 4th Quarter contribution. Press are going incredibly easy on Giuliani for what was a stupid strategy...

... besides, Dr. Paul is still in the race, isn't that what you want?

JUST A SMALL TASTE OF WHAT RUDY WOULD BE AS PRESIDENT

MAKING BAD DECISIONS FOR OUR COUNTRY!!!

I'm PRAYING that JulieAnnie announces he's dropping out! AND NOW THERE ARE 4, and Dr. Ron Paul is moving CLOSER TO THE CENTER!
That must DRIVE THEM CRAZY!!!!

I can hardly wait for the next debate in California Wed. night! I LOVE watching them SQUIRM when RP speaks the TRUTH!

What's wrong with you people?

Um, are some of you guys complete morons or what?

Ron Paul polling numbers pretty much reflect what his vote tally is in every single primary state to date except sparsely populated Nevada.

Why are people remotely suprised about Florida?

Here's the problem I have with Ron Paul's campaign. If I understand this correctly, did Ron Paul only spend ONE DAY in Maine? I notice he does this with a lot of states. It seems he goes to a state for 1-3 days and then disappears elsewhere. Is 1-3 days enough time to canvass a state? to develop a following? to get enough local press coverage? I mean if we don't get at least Maine, aren't we out of this thing?

McCain won in NH because he stayed there. He basically lived there for all intensive purposes to win that state. I don't get Ron's strategy of visiting a state for a day or two and then leaving.

INTENTS AND PURPOSES. I

Joke's on you?

I rather thought that davidg11 was making a clever sort of pun...c'est possible, n'est pas?

I feel your pain. In Iowa we

I feel your pain. In Iowa we were told by Dr. Ivers that we DON'T need to win Iowa. But that, imo, is not a good way to go. I was disappointed when we won 10%. On hindsight, it turned out better than the much tauted New Hampshire where RP got only 8% after setting the expectation for the gold.

Like one poster below said, I am in this for my kids also, so the revolution goes on.

Brace up tho fellow traveler, we just started.

Here it is

The simple fact is, that in most states during the Primaries for the presidential candidates, they also elect delegates.
This is usually an overlooked since most of the people do not know who the delegates are, or what they do.

they are the ones that vote in the state, and national conventions, and who in the end decide the GOP nominee.

so o to the RP site, and sign up as a precint leader, if there is one already, let them know you want to vote for RP in the Convention,,, or, if it is to late, ask him who they are supporting so that you can spread the word to elect that delegate (or alternative delegate) to the conventions.

remember, the popular vote doesn't mean a win, ask Al Gore. lol

Part of it

is not wasting money in ridiculous states like Florida .

Yes the name calling and

Yes the name calling and telling people to drop dead is unfair. Just because some people are frustrated with what’s going on.Some people aren't as up to date as other people. That is ok there is no need to tell them to drop dead! The real tragedy in this country is the media. People need to look at getting there news elsewhere because the media does not care about you or your freedom.

Hey kid...

Its like this... FLORIDA... is WINNER TAKE EVERY DELEGATE!!

Ok... so seconds don't count... its the same as LAST AS A MATTER OF FACT!

Our "Plan" as you put it is simple... WIN AS MANY DELEGATES AS POSSIBLE IN EVERY STATE IN THE UNION!!!

Thats how you win the nomination my friend... now GO DONATE TO THE CAMPAIGN.... SINCE I JUST TOLD YOU THE SECRET!
