Super Bowl Fans Collapse At Secaucus Junction Station While Waiting For Security Checks

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Several people have apparently collapsed in the Secaucus Junction train station while waiting in long lines to get to the Super Bowl.
Witnesses reported seeing emergency medical workers pushed their way through the overheated crowd to treat the people at the station Sunday.

NJ Transit officials have denied claims that fans were passing out and said that no one has been treated for a medical condition.

Long lines have come to a standstill in front of airport-style security machines that apparently cannot handle the crowd volume. People trying to reach MetLife Stadium were squeezed together in an enclosed stairwell.

As more trains arrived, police tried to thin the sweating, jostling crowd by spreading people across the platform.
Initial fan calls of “Seahawks” and “Broncos” gave way to angry shouts of “New Jersey, your Super Bowl sucks!”

Overseas observation.

Here is a Down Under article lamenting our football infatuation. Starts out:

"As an estimated 111.3 million Americans sit down to watch the Super Bowl and the billionaires who own the National Football League count their coin after yet another record-breaking season, ugly accusations are being levelled at the NFL, and the college competition that feeds it." and continues at

I sense some expression of sour grapes verses Soccer, and criticisms of the profit in modern day gladiator work in the post.

Bunch of dumb sheep. I could care less about sports events like I did when I was younger. I see my country burning up in flames slowly so that's where my attention would be.

Freedom is a byproduct of acceptance - judge not.

Of course they will put up with all this

Nothing will stop them, come hell or high water!
They must see their gods in action!

Saw this.

Shook my head in disbelief that anyone in their right mind would put themselves through this.

Hubby used to work for a company that had the transit authority as their customer. The system was not designed for such capacity.

Oh well...a few lost sheep don't matter as long as the money is being made.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
