Here in the south...

the sun is shining and melting all that snow away!

6 inches of snow in Western NC

and they have no idea how to deal with it; just shut down the roads, they even shut down interstate 40 for awhile. Snowed yesterday and snowed today until about 1 or 2 pm. Tomorrow it will be in the upper 40's...that's the good thing here; it doesn't stay below freezing for too many days so it will melt. The stores were wiped out by Monday...don't know when they will resupply. Pretty ridiculous...they never go to school here.

How's everyone holding up with this latest storm?

A couple of college kids are digging me out now. Snow seems to have stopped here in NJ and rain is expected with higher temps. I envision an ice skating rink all over my property, as there is nowhere for the water to drain quick enough to prevent the freeze.

Sure hope the South survived this one. I know you're not used to this weather.

Here in Maine...

When they say it's going to clear up they mean clear up to your knees.
Not so bad snow wise this winter, but the cold is eating my wood at too fast a rate.
There will be a lot of wood to clean up in the spring due to ice storms and such.
One problem I have noticed about Boston is most don't drive properly in good weather. Give them a little challenge and forget it.
No offense of course.

And it is too warm in Alaska

I have my work delayed because it was above freezing in the North Slope. I am suposed to drive on the Ice Road, but it is not cold enough to ride the truck over the tundra and ocean.

That's a beautiful pic.

That's a beautiful pic. Someday maybe I will see snow for myself...nah probably too damned cold.

I had to dig my car out of the snow this morning in Columbus, Ohio. I'm so ready for the Spring!

Just rain in California

So glad to hear you are getting rain, California!

It's still snowing since this morning

in mid-coast Maine. I hear it was also a snow day at home in the lower Hudson Valley.

That's a nice picture, Michael. For some reason it almost strikes me as the opening shot for some movie. And what a gorgeous tree, too. Is that a maple? If so, your view in the Fall must be spectacular.

Great day to go to the beach. Let's warm by the Firehouse ashes.

Boston winter of 1923. Severe storms and heavy snow led many to revert to horse-drawn conveyances. Here, Homer Johnson, left, drives a Boston Globe reporter to the beach on March 21, 1923. It was the day after fire destroyed several buildings, including the new beach fire station. The beach road was closed to automobile traffic for the first three months of this year.

Last week - same day - we had this - pretty bad for here (when you factor in the ice that's under the snow):

Where are all the cars?

Nystrom, Go here an click on animation. You'll see how much snow there was before they plowed.

That looked like a blizzard.

But you made it to work! Good. Hope you're making money with all this volatility.

What do you think? Are we done going down?

It is still snowing here in Boston.

He's the man.

That's funny

My work is at home on the keyboard. I go out just to see what I'm missing. The dog loves going out in snow. She's half Japanese.

That's nothing. In Minnesota,

That's nothing. In Minnesota, we get that in May. No joke.

Hahaha! Not many states can

Hahaha! Not many states can put cities on the lakes! We've got over 3 feet of ice on my lake. You can drive a train on it.

I'll give you a bump, Michael.

But, the truth is that will all this cold, ice and slippery white crap everywhere, every week (and now a few times a week), I'd rather not think about it, much less look at it anymore. My back got a wicked workout yesterday. Today is impossible for me to handle... several inches of that heavy, icy, slushy stuff. Thank God for good friends who care and are able to me help out.

I'm not saying it was HAARP or anything...

Yeah, I know. I'm tired of it too.

Isn't it weird that we we've been in the midst of the coldest deep freeze for weeks. TPB were terrified that the Superbowl was going to get snowed out, and then, miraculously, for about two days, the weather warmed up and it was clear and pleasant?

It was 50º + on Superbowl Sunday here in Boston. Same at the stadium.

And now we're back to the deep freeze again. NYC is 32º and snowing also.

Again, I'm not saying it was HAARP or anything. I do know people who swear up and down that the freak snowstorm in Boston on the day of the Ron Paul rally in Faneuil Hall back in 2007 was HAARP. And I'm not saying that either.

God forbid I should be called a conspiracy theorist or any other such name. I'm just noticing things. I wonder if anyone else noticed anything?

But indeed, it is wonderful to have good friends who care.

Thank you Nonna for the bump. Stay safe and warm wherever you are in the real world.

He's the man.

Oh, yeah. I've been noticing the same things

for quite some time. HAARP or a very pissed off Mother Nature. I won't go there, either. I'm not too far from you, living here in NJ, so I know the kind of freakish weather you're talking about. The weather has been weird, to say the least, for a few years now and getting weirder every month. I didn't set foot outside of the house yesterday and am not looking forward to the next round on Sunday into Monday. Three storms in one week... too depressing to think about.

Thanks for the concern and good wishes. I wish the same for you and yours, Michael. Stay safe and well, my friend.
