The Phenomenon of the Positive Libertarian

Alex Jones punched me right in the jaw. I deserved it. I was angry, I was sad, I was pessimistic, and I was miserable. I was a negative libertarian. My motivations were distrust and fear. My motto was "distrust everyone". I saw the truth as best I could within my limited capacity. I saw the truth from a pit. The details mattered. A dark man in a dark world can only rearrange the darkness. It is Law.

Dr. Paul handed me a rose. I did not deserve it. Today I'm joyful, happy, optimistic, and content. I am a positive libertarian. My motivations are trust and love. My motto is "trust yourself and your brothers and sisters". I see the truth as best I can within my limited capacity. I see the truth from a cloud. The details matter less and less. A bright man in a dark world dissipates the darkness. It is Law.

The truth never changed. My vantage point changed.

Some have arrived before me. Some have arrived with me. May the rest of us arrive until the light is blinding.

An Olde Irish Blessing to all:

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

May God be with you and bless you:
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.

A great post I'll have to revisit regularly to boost my moral up

Thank you for this.

The Lioness

The Lioness

A controversy prevailed among the beasts of the field as to which of the animals deserved the most credit for producing the greatest number of whelps at a birth.

They rushed clamorously into the presence of the Lioness and demanded of her the settlement of the dispute.

"And you," they said, "how many sons have you at a birth?"

The Lioness laughed at them, and said: "Why! I have only one; but that one is altogether a thoroughbred Lion."

The value is in the worth, not in the number.

Thank you John,

digging the song :)
Would you be so kind as to educate me a bit on Ailliliú?

I AM is all that is. Everything else is malleable.

I've seen that prayer printed in Gaelic.

I'm not fluent in Gaelic, but I could translate it on the spot as I had already been familiar from saying it in English form at NA meetings. I'd been to a small extent speaking Gaelic for decades without having any clue as to what it meant. This is one of many songs I've sung along with since the late 1970s. It's chorus is something I found myself singing alone sometimes on long walks...

Years later I discovered the internet. :)

That's when and where I found web pages like this posted by the good people who wanted me to know...

We got nothing here
We got nothing here
We got nothing here
Except noises of the hand lines...

Can't say I couldn't wait for that translation. :D

Aililliú...

That's Olde Irish for Hallelujah.

Go raibh maith agat! -[Thank you!]

That is beautiful

Can we get a soundtrack to go with this one, too?

Michael, a sincere thanks from me to you

for the kind words here and on my last post. The next time inspiration strikes I'll put it together with some music. I'm digging the Van Morrison posted by John for this post. Thank you again brother.

of course ;D

Upon first reading this post a couple hours ago I was immediately inspired to post my fave song for such moments, but before I could post it I was infected with the notions of posting two others that seem to match the post as well. I've been slow as I'm often too neurotic to choose in oh so such important matters as this so impulsively. :D Well, truth is I've been spamming these three songs around here for years. I finally posted all three in one comment though, recently. In this comment they are posted in the reverse order from which I considered them here.
