New Scientific Study: Monsanto's Roundup 1000x more toxic to humans

A new study reveals Roundup used in it's current form is much more toxic to humans than once thought. When Roundup was approved it was only tested with the active ingredients (glyphosate), inert ingredients were not included. In fact this is how all pesticides and herbicides, and fungicides are tested. Roundup is deemed safe by the EPA up to 13 ppm, it used to be 6 ppm. But since Monsanto has changed it's inert ingredient the EPA had to raise the toxicity level to 13 ppm. The real toxicity level should be 3 ppb, this is a big difference.

See study here: http://www.hindawi.com/journals/bmri/aip/179691/

The Amount of Roundup a human should ingest in 1 day is just 3 parts/billion, and Glyphosate is 6 ppb. How much are we ingesting now in all the processed food if the GMO corn is known to contain 13 ppm or more?

Here in Minnesota I have suffered massive bee deaths, because of the farming practices. The seed dressing (imidacloprid) used on corn and soy beans are deadly to all life according to the EPA. Farmers are supposed to be wearing chemical suits when handling this seed, or at least long sleeve shirts. The study above now shows this pesticides is not only deadly to bees but is just as deadly to humans.

How many people unknowingly have died with all type of cancers and illnesses related to these farm chemicals. Everyone is still looking for deaths that have the GMO stamp on the forehead.

For you Californians that voted down Prop 37 will be glad to hear that fungicides are the most toxic of all. Guess what is sprayed liberally on the almond groves. Better start wearing gas masks when driving down the 99 and Interstate 5 corridors.

Consider our drinking water, the USGS says these farming chemicals will start to show up in to our water supply as soon as 10 years. In 50 years it will be in all drinking water.

See for yourself: http://ga.water.usgs.gov/edu/pesticidesgw.html

If we changed our farming practices now we will still be dealing with the pollution for the next 100 years. If it takes 50 years to reach all drinking water it will take at least as long to clean up. What the hell are we doing to our children and grandchildren.

I see this is the number one threat to our human existence. Maybe Einstein will be correct after all. When we kill off the Honeybee the human population will follow, because of stupidity.

Monsanto truly deserves the nickname Monsatan!

At one time farmers did not use these chemicals

Why can't we go back to a more natural way to farm? I leased my property to an organic farm that had very favorable production, they did well without using the chemicals. If these chemicals were greatly reduced or eliminated, how much would that effect their production? It's really a shame we lost the small farmers over the last few decades because the small farm is much more able to grow organic than the large corporate farms.

On another post we discussed the millions of acres and billions of dollars spent on chemicals used on lawns, maybe it's well past time to stop that.
Thanks for posting this!

I know a farmer that grows corn soy beans and wheat

He get about 175 bushels of corn/acre, and sells almost all of the corn before the combine even goes into the field for $13/ bushel. He pays no $20/acre royalty to companies like Monsatan, and has no chemical expense. I think he plants over 1000 acres of corn, so he saves $20,000. on royalties alone.

He does cultivate, that is an extra cost. But the savings from chemicals and royalties more than offsets cultivating. Plus $13./ bushel is a lot better than the current $4.

Pesticides and herbicides on lawns are a waste of money, and poison the environment. Whats wrong with a few dandelions and clovers in the lawn?

George Soros

is a big investor also. Mr. "push the GMO cannabis/Terminator seeds"

George Soros was a significant supporter of marijuana legalization in Uruguay, and Soros is reportedly also a big Monsanto shareholder. Here, from a recent Guardian article, published just before the bill passed: - See more at: http://www.thedailybell.com/news-analysis/34833/Monsanto-Mar...

Monsatan may help out over population in a hurry

by inserting the epicyte gene into pot like they have done in GMO corn. Once you eat it, It's not reversible. I think the USDA will protect GMO's to the bitter end.

"A small California biotech company, Epicyte, in 2001 announced the development of genetically engineered corn which contained a spermicide which made the semen of men who ate it sterile."

I Don't Understand This Statement

Why do you say this?

For you Californians that voted down Prop 37 will be glad to hear that fungicides are the most toxic of all.

I voted against Prop 37 because it violates our right to free speech. Why does this make me glad (or assuming you are being sarcastic, unhappy) and not everyone else?

When a scientific study comes out that proves damages, change will happen without sacrificing the First Amendment, don't you think?

I can see the class action suits forming, now. Monsanto may not take action quick enough for us, but consumers certainly will.

Congress, as usual, will wait until they can see which side their bread is buttered on.

I'm not happy about fungicide, but I am happy about good science and free speech, and the power consumers have to demonstrate the power of the free market--which is in every way better than government regulation. Period.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Your right it does depend which side of the fence

you get your bread buttered on. I can tell you there is no butter for me as a beekeeper, Monsatan and other lying chemical companies made sure of that. I have lost over $100K in the past 2 years because of GMO garbage. Basically there is no regulations now, and chemical companies are poisoning all the soil and waterways. The Mississippi Delta becomes a dead zone for 8 months out of the year. Everything dies over 100 miles out because of water run off from the Midwest.

So lets all rape and pillage the land, dammed be all living birds, wildlife, insects, bats, and all living things that crawl under the soil.

As long as there is no check in place to stop Monsatan and their followers we all will pay a heavy price. Your assuming companies will act responsible!

There is also scientific evidence that GMO's are causing the American population to go sterile. Is there eugenics in play here? Is that okay?

Gold standard: because man can not be trusted to control his greed

Yeah

I also had trouble digesting that argument on Prop.37. I voted against it for the same reason as you. The whole article was tainted by that Prop 37 comment.

Monsatan, Kellogs, Pepsi, Coke and many other

lying companies poured over $30 million into defeating prop 37.

They don't want you to know that your milk and cereal is tainted with up to 200 ppm of formaldehyde, 60 ppm of insecticide, or 13 ppm glyphosate.

We as Americans are living on borrowed time, soon we all will drop like bees.
