Dear Rand - If you don't follow in your father's footsteps...

...and I mean very closely in your father's footsteps...

...I won't support you.

Just because your last name is Paul won't do it.

I gave you plenty of my hard-earned money for your campaign for senate.

So I have the right to say this.

Hope this

There will only be one Ron Paul

like there was only one Jimi Hendrix, Muhammed Ali, Ernest Hemingway etc

but these men inspire masses, and others will break new barriers.

Be Ron Paul

Then be asked a question about something, most don't understand and be labeled a kook to the broader conservative collective. Talk about some FRINGE topic and be labeled as a kook by the majority. It is a chess game and that is likely the only way we can win. Rand will be better than any other ELECTABLE candidate.

Ron keeps supporting him for some reason.

Agenda 21, PNAC, CODEX ALIMENTARIUS and UN biodiversity study. Help me understand why I shouldn't think there is a big agenda against the wishes of the masses.

let me ask

Do you follow your father's footsteps?
I mean real close, like the 2 of you are one?

setting your expectations to high, can cause depressiuon

If Rand follows the purist

If Rand follows the purist path of his Dad, he will never accomplish more than his Dad.

Do not mistake a man's methods for his principles. Rand is a Principled Man working in an unprincipled environment. Ron has proved that Purism doesn't go very far in Congress.

Both Ron and Paul are True Statesman.

A politician worries about the next election.
A Statesman worries about the next generation.

But if he DOES follow his father's footsteps

Then he, too, will never be President. Do we want another martyr, or a winner?

Martyrs remain pure; winners fight dirty.

Rand inherited his father's followers

so he has an obligation to address Ron's clemency petition according to congressman Peter King, NY, this morning on Fox news. I guess King does not read the DP or he would know that is not exactly true.

Some here seem to take the all or nothing attitude. I think Ron played a historical role in waking up and educating people around the world about the economy, our rights, and constitutional protections. Building off that, Rand is in the second phase trying to build like minded coalitions with his fellow politicians and voters towards liberty. The more successful he is, the more he will be attacked.

I'm sure your support will be

I'm sure your support will be missed.

The crazy thing is that many libertarians complain more about Rand than someone like Mitt Romney, simply because Rand is held against a higher standard.

Hell, I'm thinking many libertarians would prefer Trey Grayson.

Maybe we ought to adopt a rule. We should support any effort to expand liberty, regardless of the speed, or regardless of who their dad is, or regardless of their past beliefs or actions (Beck).

Running for office is really a thankless job. I wouldn't blame Rand one bit for not running for president. Gets hammered from both sides. Even when making several times more effort for liberty than anyone else, it is not enough, or his personal character is questioned.

Hopefully he doesn't read or pay attention to this site or others.

By the way,

On other forums I've seen pretty serious attacks against Rand in threads about his lawsuit - mostly about his character and plagiarism.

Reminds me of his dad and the racism charge. So he is a threat to those who want less liberty.

So with those types against him, and then the libertarian purists against him, I don't give him much chance.

He is trying to expand our liberty, but apparently not fast enough.

So that is why I see little hope for our country. Too many find excuses to not support him or his dad.

If Rand doesn't work out, there is always Trey Grayson. Trey was the true liberty candidate.

if you don't like Rand, you might like...

Who's your second choice?

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

This is good. People should

This is good. People should read this.

I am $7000 or $8000 deep into

maxing out on Ron Paul and placing my own advertising for him locally in Ohio, and I say Rand is doing a fine job. He is getting a little muddy along the way, because he has to. Rand I assume, thinks we in the know are smart enough to decipher his moves and to understand his methodology, if anyone should understand how he is playing the game, it should be us here who do. The last thing we need to do is for us to be the one's making Rand tiptoe around, there is no standard left in politics, it's all lies and corruption. To hold him to some kind of fine line and cripple him is absolutely counterproductive. He has explained his questionable stances on things so far pretty well, including his support of Mitch McConnell. Let's choose our battles wisely folks, and give Rand some leeway, in my opinion. The third party won't work, Rand has stated why this is to be the case. He needs to work within the system, and work with the people in it, this is not an easy fix.

Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must. like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.-Thomas Paine

The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!

I could not agree with you more.

I have raised an eyebrow or two at some of Rand's actions, but I truly feel he has to make a few compromises in order stay relevant in this political game.

If he starts to act too much like his father, then the establishment GOP will simply ostracize him as well. I have faith that Rand knows what he is doing and will make his father proud.

follow close, but not too close.

I hate to say it, but i donated a lot of money to the RP campaign in 2012 and I swore we had the man power, momentum, and the organization to take the nomination...but Dr. Paul didnt. Now if Rand does the same in 2016 Then I'm convinced the Liberty movement is too chicken shit to actually take the seat for POTUS.

From the looks of it Rand is already taking a class action lawsuit over NSA spying. That is Far more action than the 2012 RP Campaign ever did. And I'm ok with that because Ron Paul will always be my president regardless who holds office.

His name is Edward Snowden

What is Capitalism?

My views exactly.

If you don't continue supporting Rand...

then maybe you can just appreciate him like Jeffrey Tucker and I do.

Actions are worth more than words

but I wish his words would catch up.
