I would like to make one more observation about this.

This video is a perfect example of the argument being diverted. The question shouldn't be how you will react to the confiscation of your guns. The question is why are we only willing to use our guns to protect our guns?

The 2nd Amendment isn't for the sake of guns but to give us the ability to safeguard all our rights and freedoms. So far it doesn't seem to be working. But we still have our guns.

Oh, they're working, and well...

Guns in the hands of civilians in such massive numbers preclude the regime from various courses of action. The very fact that the people are armed and many highly trained denies them tactical options. It actually increases the chance things could be resolved peacefully, by denying effective domestic warfare by the regime.

The simple fact that we are all not locked in a dark cage in Guantanamo is the result. It's working, quite well in fact.

Sometimes you measure success in what doesn't happen. This is a perfect example.

I know what you are saying. Do you understand what I am saying?

Here is a pretty good summary I just came across. Just so I don't have to write it all myself.

http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2014/01/americans-lost-consti...

As we know we still have our guns but our Rights are falling by the wayside. The government has and is slowly legislating away our natural and constitutional rights but we have yet to use the one right guaranteed in the constitution for the undeniable purpose of safeguarding all the other rights. The 2nd.

You could say that "us" having guns has slowed the progression but I say they like to do things slow and methodical anyway so it is no skin off their nose.

Now back to my question. Why is it that we will let our rights be trampled and are only willing to use our guns to protect our guns? Why would they take our guns since we have proven that we will not use them to stop their fascist tyranny?

I'm just trying to make a point. That's all.

Saw this before when it was

Saw this before when it was first posted on youtube.
He makes some good points. Hand over your guns and you will live, for a while.
BUT.........

Fuck you is an expensive word. I'll pay the fee and die free.

"You only live free if your willing to die free."

Problems with this guys video.

First off he watches to much Hollywood.

There will be no wholesale gun grab. It will be done subtly if at all.

The point is NOT to defend the 2nd Amendment but to defend my property, my natural rights, myself and my family.

The political system is NOT working as he seems to think.

He uses the disarmament during Katrina as an example of how allowing yourself to be disarmed strengthened the 2nd Amendment. If so then why is he so worried about disarmament?

He talks about hiding guns and giving them one or two to appease them. This is nothing new and it may work for those who have weapons that can't be traced but for most they will know just what you have before they come.

He uses a story of a surprise attack on Washington's troops where he retreated and left the guns as an example of how giving up your guns is not a bad thing cause you can always get more guns. REALLY? So they are going to take your guns but let you go out and buy more?

He is trying to make a point by demonizing those who don't agree with his assessment or the straw man he has erected. This just makes him seem condescending.

He says we should go on the offensive. Who is we and how much of what he says has he actually done?

He says we should "regroup". With whom? All groups are monitored and your group will be targeted first in any power grab.

The ratio of gun owners to government employees is irrelevant. We are not two armies squaring off against each other. Strategic retreat for victory does not compute in a gun grab scenario.

This guy is confused.

I understand

his point about handing the criminals - something (one of your guns) when they come a knockin'.

However, one of the problems with this approach is that once they are in your house (they won't be hanging out outside while you give them one of your guns) - they will steal whatever they want. Remember these people are CRIMINALS and traitors to their oaths. Handing over any guns to them will not be the end of their tyranny - it will just be the beginning.

Another point he made is: It's not about going out in a blaze of glory. This sounds logical, but if/when we get to this point - the disarmament - the real suffering will start. Since I have been on their list for years now, I don't expect any mercy from these evil people. Therefore, in my case, I would rather "Die with my boots on" vs the alternative. Just sayin, when it comes to the form of my inevitable death, I'd rather choose how I go.

Again those words sing in my head.

Agreed. I would rather die with my boots on.

Agreed

Principle wins the day and if held with discipline, the value of freedom is authentically achieved while momentum preserved for its future defendants.

Despite the disappointment of unnecessary tyranny and loss, ultimately it could be said that this video is a rationalization of cowardice
