Rand Paul Plays Ted Nugent Like a Fender Stratocaster

Paul may or may not turn out to be a skilled presidential candidate, but he works the media better than any other contender.

FEBRUARY 21, 2014

Rand Paul continues to win my admiration, I have to say. There are people who come into the Senate with a kind of celebrity status and get lots of good press—one Barack Obama comes to mind—but I can't think of anyone who has gotten so much good press through their own initiative, coming up with one clever way after another to get people to pay attention to them in ways that are almost always positive. His latest move required a subtle ideological tightrope-walk, one that Paul played perfectly. And all it took was a tweet.

Nugent's hate of Arabs and Muslims is what's wrong...

...with the republican party.

He's a typical war-mongering, Neo-Con who hates whoever the government tells him to hate.

VERY typical mainstream republican.

Nugent should apologize for a lot more than calling Obama names - he should apologize for supporting the Bush administration's WAR CRIMES against humanity.

And for shooting efigies of Arab people at his concerts.

Yeah - real cool.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."

Anybody Can Play Better Than Ted Nugent - Anybody.

Anybody Can Play Better Than Ted Nugent - Anybody.

Trying to think of a worse guitar player but...hmmmmm...can't think of one.

He's only one of the top 100 players to ever pick up a six string. I hope you're really not that ignorant and just don't like rock and roll...

That Was Funny :)

Ted is not a bad player at all and he sure has the royalty checks to prove it.Ted doesn't even have to work another day of his life because the checks pay his bills.Nothing like getting 100K a year for Cat Scratch Fever alone! To bad Rand can't write a song to pay him anything!

Ted just says what most of us

Ted just says what most of us are thinking. Not to say things would be any different if Romo would have gotten the nod from Bohemia grove. I guess the Nug doesn't realize this goes way beyond just a figurehead.

But about myself I will not boast, except as it concerns my weaknesses (2 Cor 12:5). Let the unbelievers seek praise from each other; I wish that which is from God alone.

That's funny

Ted Nugent doesn't speak for me.

Its like I always say ...

The bickering about purity vs expediency re: Rand gets so thick at times?

That I thought I was one of the only ones to recognize that Rand and whoever his closest advisers are are some of the most brilliant politicians Ive seen in years.

In hindsight and with

In hindsight and with additional information since the 2012 races, if some of Rand's advisers are the same as some on Ron's campaign, I don't really care how "brilliant" they are as politicians. That is kind of harsh, but pragmatism has not worked in the past and now is even less the time for pragmatism. In Rand's defense, I have heard it said "the price of politics is the company you have to keep".

If by 'pragmatic' you mean:

- Coming out publicly and emphatically in favor of legalizing cannabis

- Coming out publicly and emphatically in favor of end aid for Israel

- Coming out publicly and emphatically *against* sanctions for nations the average voter is conditioned to believe are clear and imminent threats against the American people and world peace (true or false)

... etc?

Then I don't think the word means what you think it means.

I meant his advisers. They

I meant his advisers. They always operate in pragmatic mode.

So Rand WINS!

This came out very well for Rand.

"Government is the entertainment division of the military-industrial complex". - Frank Zappa

i wonder

it has given ted more face time. more publicity, more album sales and attendance at shows. he likely made that statement just for that reason. he's no dummy and from the rock 'n roll world knows how to play the press. expect him to do the talk show rounds now. here is a long ass interview after the fact, and really i think a lot of the GOP will applaud and back him up. what does rand get? the left will not buy it for a minute.

We Should All Follow Ron Paul's Example

Ron Paul always refrains from name-calling.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Taming the Wild Nugent

by Jim Goad

All the right people hate Ted Nugent. And when I say all the right people, naturally I mean all the left people.

Good job Rand

What Ted Nugent said was offensive and it's stupid. Personifying America's problems as Obama's master communist plan is just dumb. The centralization of power existed way prior to Obama. The only thing you can criticize Obama for is not doing anything radically good, only continuing the politics of the status quo.

Check out http://ronpaulforums.com for activism and news.

I don't know about that because I do believe Obama is a communist and has been surrounded by communist all of his life and doesn't even know what it's like to be an American.I think Ted said what lots of Americans feel about the idiot that's in the whitehouse that has turned the country upside down and buried us with trillions of debt and a bogus healthcare system while all he does is play golf and write executive orders.Obama rules like a dictator!

Yeah It's not like he instituted "Obama Care"

Or Signed the NDAA add ons early morning hours of New Years day. Nor is every single word that comes from his mouth a bald face lie right? If anyone thought that Bill Clinton was a liar he was a complete noob compared to this monster and the scary thing is that compulsive liars like Clinton actually believe some of the lies that they weave. This Beast looks you square in the eye and laughs as he lies because he knows that you know he's lying and couldn't care less that you know that he's lying.

Ted Nugent is a rock-n-roller

Ted Nugent is a rock-n-roller (me too at least as a listener). You have to consider the source when listening to comments. I'm not a person of high standing and high education and I don't talk like one. I don't think Ted is either. I'm including myself in that category because sometimes I say some dumb things that in this age of everything staying on the internet for ever could come back to bite me. We really need to understand what "tolerance" is and practice it. I bet Ted is a really great guy and I bet I'd find him to be a great friend. When your friend says something stupid you don't kick him to the curb. I do think that Rand's comment was appropriate and I'm sure that Ted will apologize and we will move on...

All those who have never said something stupid or embarrassing please raise your hand...

Beware the cult of "government"...

Teddy better apologize...

...or Uncle Bama will send some drones to eliminate another "terrorist" threat.

Anyone notice

these one trick ponies that drop by to just to bash Rand Paul.

No other offerings.

I drop by a lot

I drop by a many of times and don't care for Rand in the least.Any son that won't even support his own dad in a election is a total jerk. His support for Romney proved what a fruitcake he is and was.Rand just goes along to get along like a good little republican plus he's part of the PC crowd by calling people out on their free speech rights. In fact I think Rand is a loser that has no proven track record like his dad that sounded the same in 1976 and 2012 so before anyone gives Rand a free pass they should see what he really is first and where he really stands or does he just grandstand to score political points unlike his dad.Ron Paul always had true heart felt conviction unlike Rand.Rands biggest mistake was supporting Romney when his dad was running for the 2012 presidential election against him.He blew it!

Simply noting what I see

I'm not a Rand fan or basher, but I do notice the obvious.

They really took it hard I

They really took it hard I guess...the Mitt Romney thing. Emotions have no place in politics.

Sure they do!

Sure they do!That's what politicians play on unless you never noticed.Emotions are the game in all elections.
