Listening to the radio news this morning, I heard a big segment going into the upcoming movie release of, "Son of God", linking it to a series of Bible-themed movies coming to a theater near you soon. Why are much bigger audiences willing to go to theaters for this theme, rather than R-rated raunch?
I thought I'd be the first to ask, what potential impact could these well-made movies have on folks attitudes towards the things that belong to God, and those things in Caesar's image only? Here's the official trailer for, "Son of God":
I just found this musical trailer with more scenes woven in. As with any issue of faith, even those who faithfully hold to no faith at all know that art can have a powerful influence that may play loud a common moral cord, and pull similar heart strings.
When the TV series proved there is a HUGE Bible-theme audience, 20th Century Fox anted up support for this project that's about to break onto the big screens world-wide, five days before Ash Wednesday, as some would call it; and seven weeks before Good Friday, as some, well, you know...
